It was disturbing.
He'd been out for a bit, overseeing his.... other.... business needs, and somehow he'd expected at least a small greeting upon his return. But no Caedia. Not even a hint of her at the duels the next night either.... it wasn't like her to be absent like that.
So what's a good thief to do? Why, pick the lock on her door of course. But only because he cares so much.
However, he'd never expected her to be there, much less still laying there on her bed, listless. In the time it took him to cross the room he'd noticed that she wasn't breathing very well. How nice of him, her own brother, to let her lay here in her room and quietly die. Cursing to himself, he settles gently down on the upper corner of the bed, belying the whirlwind approach.
"Caedia!" Like all good first aid classes taught, check for awareness. The sweat rings left in the sheets would suggest she handn't moved for quite some time. Unwrapping the ribbons from one hand, he holds the back of it in front of her mouth... at least there was some breath. He peels up her eyelids... the color nearly grey underneath. "Damn."
He wasn't going to leave her to the witchdoctors and spellcasters that he entrusted his own health to. No way. She was more important... and he didn't just settle into the idea of having her around just to let her slip away already. So moments later the doors on the Outback swing shut behind him, and the swaddled, limp burden he carries.
Not too long later he arrives. It's a plain door, like any other in the dank alleyway, pitted and molding wood showing age, but sheer thickness defying the elements. With one well-placed boot, the door flies open... revealing behind it a pulsing, breathing, shattering white wind. There was no sound to the miniature hurricane, though what must be screeching wind batters the pair. No hesitation, Tareth steps into his own personal conduit of the
Nexxus.
It was only a drop of about two feet, but overbalanced as he was it gave a nasty twist to his knee as he lands. The uneven landing platform of a curb didn't help either. Waaaiiiit a minute... curb?
Silver eyes lift from the wet concrete in front, and as they do, a glaring pink reflection lights them. That had to be the dirtiest, brightest, most homely looking sign he's ever laid eyes on.

She had fallen asleep on the couch after the voice (really Jen, but at that point, how was she to know?) had eased her fears about everything. Her thoughts briefly drifted to Bane and her brother before easing off into the blissful darkness from her aching head.
It was sometime later when she arose to enough consciousness to dream again.. albeit she wasn't conscious enough to actually wake up.. her body wouldn't let her.
Someone did pick her up however, and had taken her to her room but all she could wake up enough to do is feel the motion of moving.. She slipped back into darkness after that.
______________________________________
She was fluttering about as usual.. the airy skirt floating lazily behind it's mistress as she worked, humming as though this was a day in the park for her. She wasn't ever really seen to be angry unless it was to break up a fight *after* she had previously asked them so nicely to stop it.
A few more pieces of trash to go, and the load in her arms could be dumped all at once into the trashbin in the back. The piece of paper she was reaching for suddenly fluttered away by some wind. This made her frown because the whole day had been rainy and deathly still. She looked up in time to see the man.... land? What the hell? She blinks, green eyes soaked with red strands of hair looked at the limp one then to the holder.. what.. the..
hell??
"TONY!!" She spared nothing for the surrounding people.. and she turns to face the boy, for the first time in a long time, her voice carries a growl and a deep venomous tone.
"Put... her.. Down, right this instant! Raven?! Can you hear me baby??" She moved nearer, the burly man with a tattoo came out behind his wife and blinked at seeing what she was so upset about.
"Baby.. stay back, calm down." He was the sensible one.. she might be flighty and happy all the time, but her temper was another force to reckon with.
He turned his own good eye towards the one holding the familiar one and tried his own approach. The starburst gray, white, black eye seemed as demanding as any request to explain himself. His arms reach out towards Caedia's limp form.
"I'll take her now, thank you. Come inside I'll give you a drink for your troubles or money if you'd like. Thank you for your kindness in returning her." He was speaking in a strange voice for him, one that would soothe a frightened child as he was afraid the man in black would indeed flee suddenly. It wasn't that the man looked intimidatinitg, this was the kind of punk he intercepted everyday in some form or fashion.. it was the fact that he
was holding something priceless for the couple.

"Ooookay Guido, just as soon as you tell me where I am, and who the hell you are."
He'd taken one step back at the screaming lady, and another as the moving brick wall came toward him. With a small grunt, he hoists Caedia up and more securely in his arms, readying a few small surprises should Mr. Hurly Burly decide to get quick.
Oh, and by the looks of the lady, he'd best be safe and throw in a "And no, I'm not on drugs."

Tony's eyes narrowed at the Guido part, looking the boy in a once over and nearly cringed outwardly as he shifted Raven in his hold. He had been afraid the boy was gonna drop her and run.. which might have been for the better. He paused and held his hands out close to the boy.
"I'm Tony, I wont hurt you.. please, hand me Raven.. she's not a bad girl. She's done nothing wrong."
It was when Tareth claimed he wasn't on drugs that had given Tony the advantage.
"We know, and that's great son.. we *really* appreciate you bringing her back, you've done well. Hand her over and we'll fix her up okay?"
Annette had frozen and simply wrung her hands watching as her husband tried to take the girl back safely. Frightened green eyes wandered over the three as she fidgeted, and even his words failed to bring security back. He could be lying.. why would he care what she thought? She gathered up her skirt and strode across the road to stand behind Tony and reach a look to him that she hoped he would see the innocence and sincerity in.
"Please sir.. you're very kind in protecting her and bringing her around here. I'm an old nurse.. I can help her now. Please leave her in my care and I can assure you, you will be paid as you'd like."
The couple only had so much money.. but Tony didn't even flinch as she offered that. Raven had been their first child. He wasn't about to argue.

He toyed briefly with the idea that he wanted to play with them. Raven? This Raven? Or are you talking about Caedia? Or Sade here? But no... the concern in their voices and faces was too much. It was evident that they did care about her, and probably had a much better idea of what to do with her here than he did. Who is Tareth to questoin the Nexxus eh?
With a sigh, he hands her gingerly to Guido. "Be gentle. She's my sister... " There was an uncharacteristic line in his brow as he tags along behind the bigger man like a ghost trailing after a funeral cart.

Annette didn't bother to hide the dropping of her jaw at his words. "Guido" took her without pause.. still nodding to him seriously. Strong arms clung her to his chest and turned.
"Follow me then." He was the more serious one, getting things done. Annette did quietly trailing behind the two men until after they entered the bar, then she rushed quickly up the stairs to prepare her things.
"I'm Annette." She said quietly in passing to Tareth.. wanting so many answers but holding to nothing in wait. Fingers spindle out to the closet to gather her nursing bag. Tony set her down carefully on the couch that she had slept in not too long ago.
In fact if it hadn't been for her last trip there, they wouldn't have been prepared for her actual brother, and would have certainly thought him to be on drugs.
Tony clicked the door shut silently behind them and leaned against the wall next to the stranger.
"She plays the piano well.. You should hear her sometime."
(cont. soon)

After several attempts at getting a pulse, the stethoscope obviously very old by the looks and grey blue color, was gently taken out of her ears and dropped to her neck. Her fingers pressed in circles around her temples as if that would release an answer.
"She's in a coma." Her words were pretty much obvious, but at least she had found the reason why. The goose egg bump on the back of her head was also pretty obvious. For now all she could do was search for her other nursing bag and stick a few strange looking needles into Caedia's arm. With that done and looking very drained indeed, she dropped back onto the arm of the couch.
"She looks like she took a hard hit and went tumbling.. there's three or four bumps and several abrasions. Did you guy get into a fight?"
Her tone wasn't accusing at all, merely curious in a doctor's type way of figuring out what was wrong.

It's known that in order to feel something, one must care. She didn't notice the many scrapes and bruises that she had aquired on her way through town. She simply had to get away from that house. Away from her now dead brother... well, he wasn't her brother was he? Netieo was just another in the many who had kept her from that dream. The one that comforted her.
Tangles of blonde hair waved behind her steady run as if waving goodbye to the life she once knew. It was time now to find a different destiny.
"Woah little girl, where are you off to in such a hurry?"
The man was obviously drugged and most likely drunk at the same time, but it didn't matter to her. His hand on her arm that had stopped her was used as a pivot point. Her foot slammed upwards catching him fully in an area which would gaurentee him sterile for the next few weeks. When he doubled over, her foot once more raised skyward to smash down on the back of his neck. She had no idea where these moves were coming from, nor how she could react
so quickly.. but it was a matter of survival now.
The man crumpled to the ground surprised and hurting and didn't bother calling out or even looking to see where that 'little girl' had gone. Once far enough away, her tiny chest heaving with the adrenaline and fear that had let her run this far, she looked at her hands.. and her legs. Where in the world?
The rain started then, hard and fast as it was in this world.. no more of a warning than a simple clash of lightning that filled the sky. Soaked, exhausted and tired, she sunk down into a paper box in the alley and slept.
