There was just calm. For the first time since Mikal and Lirisa had disappeared, Koy had slept through the night without a nightmare or sob. While her thoughts were for once at peace, the rest of her body felt horrible. Turning over in the bed, the groggy green eyes blinked open as she looked down at the sheets. She had never seen them before. And as her eyes focused, despite the pounding in the head, Koy realized she wasn't inher room. Bolting up in the strange bed, her breath shortened as she tried to recall the previous night. She went to the Outback, as usual, and left to her own devices, had taken to drinking ale in order to dull the rest of her. She was just so tired of everything, of thinking, of hurting, of trying to figure out what had happened. One day her life was normal, satisfying, and the next, two of the most important people in her life were gone. Mikalhad taken their only child and fled without a trace. Now she was getting reports that he had been murdered, but no one had any information about Risa. And she wasn't sure if she really wanted to know, for ignorance was bliss, and as long as there was no news, there was still hope that Lirisa was alive. The rest of the night was hazy at best. She proceeded past her usual limit of drinks, and from there she could only remember bits and pieces. But now she was here, in some rented room with a bump on her head, but how? Her first fear was that she had fallen into her old hedonistic ways, of finding any man that could take her mind off of abandonment. But that was after the first man she loved had left her willingly. And this time, no matterwhat happened, she had promised herself she would never do that. Glancing around, Koy saw no sign of another person having been there, no clothing discarded. But how had she gotten here? Forcing herself out of bed, she slowly walked around the room, her head still pounding. Cursing alcohol and herself, she opened the door and peered down the hallway. Now the place was looking a bit more familiar...she was still in the Outback? In a rented room? She was going to go downstairs to see if she could find anything out, but her investigation would have to wait as she was hit with another consequence of drinking. Feeling thelite dinner she had bubbling in her stomach, she slammed the door and ran back into the room, to find a place where she could throw up.
