Community Vote Results

The DoF and DoS communities have voted to separate from the RDIF.

DoF: 26 for the split, 20 against.

DoM: 20 for the split, 24 against.

DoS: 109 for the split, 43 against.

Frankly, I'm surprised at the results. There were a lot less votes cast than what I was expecting. I'm inclined to skip the follow-up vote for DoM, and just have all 3 areas split off. I've discussed this with RDI Dans, and she agrees. We figure that it would be best to begin putting together a transition plan immediately rather than hold off for 7-10 days for a follow-up vote to occur, which in all likelyhood would be in favor of joining the
other two areas in the split.

I've been asked by a couple of people about chat room and message board guidelines. The RDIF/Dueling Center guidelines are still in effect and will be enforced. Once we get settled with staffing issues and basic infrastruture we'll work with the community on addressing changes to the guidelines. Please be patient... we'll get there. :>

I'm planning on holding monthly community meetings. We'll do the first one in mid-July.

All three Duels will be treated fairly. I'll be working closely with Dans, Golden and Rask. If one of them feels like they're getting the short end of the stick, I'm positive they'll let me know. None of them have been shy over the past month. ;>

Where do we go from here?

We're (Thorn, Dans, Golden, Rask and I) starting work on a transition plan. We're also waiting to see how the Duel RDIs shakeout. We've had one quit outright, and several express an interest in working for the RDIF and not the Duels any longer.

The top priority now is the transtion and staffing. More to come as I have it.

The beginnings of our new Community Center for OOC discussions is now up on the Dueling Center's main form ( aol://4344:2756.duel_fe.29098808.572355717 ). You'll find a Community Meeting Schedule, message board, and a Dueling Center CL application there.

Well, crap.I would like to put in application now to become a helper (host) for the Dueling Center, but I can't.<< 4. You must be using WAOL or MAOL 4.0. >>I'm only on 3.0, and with that, I'm taken out of the list of possibilities. I'm on an ancient PC and can't go to 4.0, so it's probably better for me not to be on staff anyway. We've also been having what may be classified as billing problems (not really problems, but they may be classified as such) lately.Anyway, I just wanted to inform you all why I haven't and/or am not sending in an application to help in the Dueling Center and I apologize for this.Regards,Player o' Bane

I would love to help out and be an RDI but for one problem.

You have to have an account that's at least 6 months old.

Not there yet.

But just you wait.. ::evil grin::

Jeeze...

I use 4.0 for checking my mail and some general use stuff... but use 3.0 for most chat and always when I'm running my shift... never had a problem yet.
Of course, maybe I'm gonna get in trouble for posting my secret. ::Chuckles::
