The Outback Nurse (Caedia)

The past few days, she had been working on the Outback floor that her brother had blown up for some strange reason. She had proof too, one of the boards hadn't wanted to come off, and had bit her finger that now had turpentine, a paper towel, and some heavy duty tape wrapping it. One more day and she could take it off the fully healed cut.

Taking a break from the cleanup job, she had started cleaning the backroom.. happy that Tochiro was nicely up front with Jen and wouldn't be accidently jumping under her feet. Now that the puppy had gotten used to her frequent visits and cleaning sprees, he wasn't shy at all, but she was always worried about hurting the poor guy.

After the dueling was over, she moved back into the Outback and cuddled Jen up in a blanket. The rest of the tearing out was easy.. she pulled the loose boards out, roundhoused the bigger loose boards and chopped the splintered pieces smooth. That part woke Jen up who insisted on helping, but Caedia shook her head.

"Not yet, you'll insult me." That seemed to work, although she didn't know if it was because she was listening to Caedia, or if it was the sleeping pill she had dissolved into Jen's water.

Dropping down into the pit (*not* Janella's favorite pit, but the one Tareth made), she used the new boards and banged them into place.. making neat supports from the underneath. Lots of nails, sweat, and blood hours later, she pulled herself up and out of the pit using the new support beams and nodded her approval. She was exhausted, but too upset at the moment to sleep.

Now that the boards were done, she went to the back forest and started digging and scooping the dirt into a wheel barrel that she had found that morning after Bane had left. Back into the Outback, down into the hole with the dirt, and back out to dig more. This was kept up with her taking occassional water breaks by drinking and stomping the dirt down to pack it in. Finally as the sun broke over the horizon and lit the Outback, the dirt was
high enough and packed down so solidly that the outer beams could be placed to keep a nice looking floor.

She, however.. was too exhausted and worn out to do anymore but flop down on a chair next to Jen to rest.. but rest wasn't all she did. The sandman popped a visit on her, and she was gone to the world.
