Jen awoke to see a figure standing at the foot of her bed. "Ah.. Finally awake?" he said in a thick, Austrailian accent. "Who are you?" Jen asked sitting up, still unable to clearly see him. "You killed your symbiote, by having it removed," he dodged the question. "You mean that worm?" she spit the words at him unable to hide the disgust in her voice at his obvious compassion for the creature. "It was killing me by making me a prisoner in my own body, I did what I had to. It nearly made me kill my own friends!" she was getting angry. Her voice dripped with hate, "Its just a shame I didn't take a few of you with it..." He laughed. Laughed! That did it. Jen shifted her position, then leaped at him. His eyes glowed an eerie green as he grabbed the fist that flew toward him, and twisted sending Jen head first into the wall. He held her pinned to the wall as she struggled, "That was not wise, StarBlade. Now, I'm going to enjoy this.." Two guards stepped out of the shadows. They harshly grabbed Jen, and dragged her back to her bed. The man pulled two syringes from a case. "See this one?" he held up the clear syringe. "This is a normal antisthetic," he dropped it, crushing it beneath a booted foot. He held up the yellow filled one, "This is called 'Liquid Fire'. It induces temporary paralysis by causing nerves to stay 'fired'. Quite painful..." "I'm not easily intimidated..." Jen replied. She struggled against the guards, though it was useless. They held her effortlessly, as if she was nothing. She felt a sting as the man inserted the needle in her arm. She watched without fear, as he pushed in the plunger, injecting the yellow liquid into her arm. The pain started almost immediately. True to the man's word, Jen couldn't move. She couldn't even scream. It was difficult enough just to breath. The man inserted a line to collect Jen's blood. After all, that was his purpose. Though, he did enjoy watching her face contort in silent screams of agony. After Jen had been drained of as much blood as possible without causing death, the man and his guards left Jen to her silent torture....((Note: This takes place the night of the Opal Tourney.))

"Company Policy" part 2 "Alone" (Jen)

Jen lay awake, curled up on her bed. Caedia was still asleep beside her, having not moved much since they brought her up. Bane was asleep in a chair near the corner. Unable to sleep, Jen got up. She took a spare blanket and gently draped it across the bare-chested Bane, she paused just long enough to softly kiss him on the forehead. She confirmed that Caedia was out of any real danger. Then she went into her son's bedroom. The tears started then, as they often did when she prepared for sleep. She had found it difficult to sleep without her husband's comforting presence, and rare was the night she didn't cry herself to sleep. Nobody knew that except for William, and he didn't understand, couldn't understand. Once her tears and the remains of her energy were spent, she fell into a deep, fitful sleep. With sleep, came dreams, dreams of her beloved Eric... She awoke to find an arm draped gently across her body. Gently she moved it, trying not to wake him. No point in worrying him, she thought as she moved for the bathroom. She'd been sick a lot lately, but was too afraid the doctor would confirm her theory to go. Eric had been suspicious too, though he never brought it up. His concerned voice came from behind her, "More nausea?" He lowered himself to the floor behind her, and started rubbing her shoulders, after she nodded. "Babe, maybe you should go see Doc... Just to be safe," he sounded afraid that it could be something other than what they suspected. Both were overjoyed, yet nervous, about the possibility. However, they knew the middle of a spatial rift was no place to start their family. Who knew? In nine months, they could be back in real space. Or, they could never leave the rift. Sometime later, once the nausea passed, Eric gently picked her up, "Well, Mrs. StarBlade, let's go back to bed..." Jen woke up alone.....
