A new official arrives...

Ria had no clue where she was... she had been on her way to Portland for a gig, and she closed her eyes for a minute on the road. When they opened once more; she stood before a door. That wasn't very odd, she had slept through long drives before, so she wasn't worried. However, when she opened the door....

She found a strange new place. The Arena, it was said. Rhydin, it was said. Just where had she gone?! Oh, this was not good. She asked the patrons if they knew how she got to this odd place, and how to get home. She had a job, after all. Admittedly, it wasn't the highest-paying job, but still. She loved it. What better way to express herself than with her music?

Then she heard another word. Magic. What?! How insane were these people, that they believed in magic, truly thought they saw stuff from fairy tales? No way. She didn't even believe it when one person magicked a flaming drink from mid-air. It was all an illusion, it had to be....

... right?

A job, she thought. I have to find a job, at least until I can get home. Away from these crazies. Purposefully she strode to the public bulletin board, skimming over the various announcements, until she came across one that said:



Wanted:
A full-time official for the Duel of Fists.
No experience required, just a keen eye.
Will train on the job.
Interested parties please contact Mike and Rask.



An official, Ria asked herself as she scratched at her arm. It seemed even the bugs had found their way here. Shrugging, she took down the names and where to contact them. Might as well try it, she mumbled.

The next day she went to the offices and submitted an application; and as she turned to go, was ushered into what seemed a manager's room. After a lengthy talk, Ria finally had an understanding of what they had meant by an official....

... and a new job.
