An overwhelming response indeed.
I think I should consult with Kaprielle about how I should go about all this. Since her and Amal are the experts.
As for the prize..I was thinking of a exotic vacation for two on the lovely tropical island of Boro Cristi...(South RhyDin, ya know.)
Maybe we could find out who won the last one and have them host this one? It's a thought.

::A very wide grin, cackling softly as she pens a response.::

Hey, since it's for a good cause, I guess I could volunteer Nova.. the thing is, I don't trust you ladies. ; ) But.. is it just a men's auction? If I do remember correctly, the last one that was held included members of both sexes..
And Kappi.. I'd be happy to help you select the delectable talents that will be auctioned.. we know our men, do we not? : D

~ Elle McBride. *

::Pauses, remembering the last auction she was in and Kappi announcing 'This lovely lady is up for a night of fun.. including anything but SEX!'.. grins ferally, wondering whatever happened to her back then.::

(m) Speakin' o' th' last auction.. I ne'er got my date with Raiy...

::Brow creases conspiratively as she moves from the corkboard.::

Aja,

I'd like to offer up a prize tae go wit' whatever gentleman ya wish tae match it with.

A horse drawn carriage ride tae a quiet beach front picnic spot tae be viewin' a sunset.
A catered picnic of delectable delights tae tempt any pallete includin' fine wine, appetizers, salad and or soup, choice of vegetarian or mixed fare fer the entrees, and fer desert chocolate mousse.

Music will be provided if desired by the couple in question. The caterers will serve the meal and leave tae clean up in the morning.. The carriage and/or driver will be available tae return the couple tae their homes.

Just a simple thing.. but one ne'er knows..

Goon stood in front of the ever-growing pile of papers tacked, stapled, pasted, and otherwise attached to the boards. He was really curious as to what was getting so much attention. But sifting through 20+ notes just plunged one thing into his head- he had no idea what a bachelor was. It seemed everyone else did, though. Normally, he might stand back and try and figure it out...but it looked like everyone interested was going to have
fun. Goon, being Goon, just couldn't bear to be left out of something fun. So, off he went to scribble a note, and pound it into the boards where, hopefully, someone would answer.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What bachelor?

Goon

::Reads the serious pile of notes and laughs softly, coming to the last one.::

I do believe -you- are a bachelor, Goon... It means a man who is not married.

::Remembers getting an invite to the last auction, even though she was pregnant at the time, wondering if she'll get an invite this time... As a bidder or a prize.::

Pauses at the ancient coakboard, quirks a smile reading Goon's question. "Och, th' poor Goon, tis certes th' one ist gonna open a can 'o worms e'en larger th' fancy debates."

Chortles gaily as she tacks a note to the board.

Goon volunteered for the Auction as did General Perrinis Alabaster. Perhaps a special two for one offer? Buy Goon get Perri. Buy Perri get Goon.

Darts away into the Rhydin evening, leaving the note unsigned.

Buy Goon and get a Perri? Could be interesting, but I think that Goon is so fun that he should be one of the highlights of the auction.
I'm still working on a day and time to hold the auction...Any suggestions anyone..I want to make it on a day everyone can attend..I know everyone has busy scheduals...A Sunday Afternoon might be nice.

::sees Summer's note::

Yesssssssssssss!!!!!

::reminds herself to send Summer a gift basket of goodies for this one::

Aja,

These are for you, you'll need them to maintain conformity and control of sassing bachelors and the like. ::Hanging two cattle prods to the boards, one engraved simply with "Jeffrey" the other with "others":: Perhaps this year another wry lad will earn his very own?
I would love to attend, do let me know when it shall be. I see you've got it all under control and the ideas flowing.

"Now, how to bribe Summer out of her husband for an evening". ::Muttering under her breath as she continues to write:: "an Arabian stallion?..hmm..."

The Dead Nicholas has a decent size staff with lots of boots, I'm sure Billy Ray'd love to have Jeff's help for a night. I know I would and this way I can subtract his services off my room charges. Hell, massages are good too!!
