Tonight I have witnessed MidnytBlue's quest for the 4th ring. Baron Huma Dragonbane did defeat MidnytBlue, 5-3 in 8 rounds. The match proceeded as follows....

As the match begins, the Baron and the Warlord circle carefully, each with their own intent, each with measured skill and precision of movement..
MidnytBlue reacts first with a lunging thrust..
..her attempt is deflected by the Baron's lateral parry, fancily gaining the opening point.
1-0 Huma

The reverberation still sounding in the air, Huma brings his blade full circle..
..he cuts high at the challenger
MidnytBlue proves as quick reflexed as the Baron, sending up a fancy lateral parry to rival that incoming blade. FLP/HC
1 all

The challenger now switches from defense, the Baron circles..taking a firm grip on the the previously deflected blade...he can see her weapon glimmering as it moves in ...an obvious attack. Huma fancy sidesteps to escape ...
...but MidnyteBlue turns the blade low and sweeps the cut down across his shin.
1-2 MidnytBlue.

The Warlord's momentum is behind her and again she moves in after the Baron with a predetory purpose...
Huma's lowcut only just misses, but it leaves him wide open for what will be her pointedly acurate thrust.
1-3 MidnytBlue

And the tide is not beyond turning...
The Baron uses quick wit to catch the challenger in mid FSidestep, his highcut
catches her true and lessens the gap in the score.
2-3 MidnytBlue.

The dedication to his task...the defense of the 4th ring...
The Baron proves his prowess in the ring by neatly taking the Warlord's blade...
..sending it flying into the rafters...
...perfectly executed circular parry to foil her lowcut.
The Baron has come back to tie the score at 3 all.

The next moments are tentative..the two circle slowly and never stray from their purpose.
The challenger views the incoming cut and instictively begins a parry..
Before MidnytBlue's fancy circ parry is once rotated,.... the Baron's highcut has struck.
4-3 Huma

With his ring on the line, Huma moves in..his eyes ever watchful for that one sweet
opportunity to strike....
The challenger too, with her experience and undisputed skill..seeks to land a blow.
In a single fluid motion, the two come together...
..but MidnytBlue's blade has gone high, ...and the Baron's has gone strait in to thrust
that final point for the win.
5-3 Huma.

I am,
Queen Luthien Tinuviel-Mackenzie
Lady Tynsdale
Baron # 9
Mediator of the Duel.

::Just loves Luthie's most eloquent discription of the duel... just like being there, almost.::

Well done to you both...

::Moves on, wondering if it's time for her to challenge.::

Lady Drake.
