After two days travel through Neverwinter wood, he reached the town of Canyberry. There he traded the hides of the animals he had caught for a nights stay at the Canyberry Inn. After a bath and a meal, Daemon was on his way southwest. In little more than a day he would be at Walker's cottage. It was good to be back on Faerûn. The sun was shining, and the lands along the Sword Coast were realitively free of bandits.
He seemed to have forgotten about his disfigurement. He walked in his memories. The night passed without incident and by mid day he was at his old friend's cottage. "Walker," he called out. "It's me, Daemon." There was the sound of many bolts and latches being turned. After a few moments, the door opened and a woman stood before Daemon. She was in her twenties, with flowing golden locks and hazel eyes.
"Fair day, I am Jazelle. How may I help . . .Oh, my!, come in, come in. I shall call my husband right away." The young lass led Daemon to a large sitting room, then wandered off down a set of stairs. Daemon looked around the sitting room. On the wall hung Walker's old shield, made from the hide of an Umberhulk.
There was a great crashing sound and footsteps racing up the stairs. "Daemon, you lifeless corspe, how the hell are you? When Jazelle said there was a ghostly man here, I knew it had to be you." He extended his right hand in greeting.
"Walker, you old dog, I didn't know you married." He ignored his friends proffered hand and gave him a tight hug. "It has been too long." He released his old friend. "Walker, I am in need of your help. The curse has been broken, but the price paid was dear. The life of a child was taken by my hand. I have since been slowly falling along a downward spiral."
"Sit down, relax. Jazelle, would you please bring our guest some sour whiskey. You have come on a great day, Oxnard should be here shortly. I'm sure a few days of 'good 'ol time' stories will cure what's bothering you. If not, I've got two 55gal Drums of that 'Old No.7 that you're so fond of."
"Walker, it's not that simple. Although I would enjoy seeing that old dwarf again, I would not see him like this." Daemon held up his right arm that he had been hanging over the chair's arm. Walker's face couldn't surpress a smile, and Daemon found nothing humorous in his condition. Jazelle walked in at this point and dropped the tray of goblets she had been carrying. As luck would have it, there was a pounding on the door that was
unmistakeable.
"Lest you be needing some more firewood Walker, open the bloody door."
"Great, Oxnard's here" Daemon and Walker said in unison though their tones were considerably different. Jazelle opened the door and the obnoxious dwarf stormed in and dropped his pack. "God's Teeth!" Oxnard exclamied "Dae, what brings you to Faerûn? You be needing another wedding ring is it. You never could be tied down."
"Well Oxnard, I didn't want you to see me like this. I guess I should plan my trips better. I don't need a new wedding ring, I need a new hand." Jazelle had went back into the kitchen and returned again with two goblets and a tankard for Oxnard. She politely excused herself and went into the kitchen again.
"What happened Dae, I thought you were immortal. Wouldn't your hand have grown back on it's own?" Walker asked. Daemon unbandaged his arm to show his friends the cauterized wound. "Like a troll, once burned it cannot grow back." he replied.
"Let's go down stairs Dae, I'vegot just what you need, but I don't think here would be the place to discuss it." Walker inclined his head towards the kitchen as he rose. "She's lead a very sheltered life," he explained as he lead them downstairs. "Why before coming to Faerûn with me, she didn't believe in Ghouls, Goblins, or Dragons."
Walker began searching though his shelves. As always, Daemon was amazed at the amout of junk Walker had lying around. "Ah, here it is, a potion of regeneration. My last one it would seem. Hey after we're done, you guys want to go on a little adventure? Ol' time sakes and all that."
"Count me in." Oxnard exclaimed raising his axe. "Will we be killin some goblinkind?"
"Walker,' Daemon interjected. "I already told you, the hand wont grow back."
"I know that," he calmly answered taking Oxnard's axe from him. "Is this the new blade you were telling me about? May I? I can't see you fighting without your well worn hammer."
"It's not so new," Oxnard replied. "I did happen to come across a goblin lair on the way here." He smiled and the other two new Oxnard had chosen a path that would take him close to the lair because the vile creature knew better than to live within a day of the ranger's small keep.
"Back to your hand Dae. I know it won't grow back, That's why I'm gonna cut off your arm." The look in his eyes showed he was serious.

"You want to do WHAT?" Daemon exclaimed
"Relax Dae," Walker reasured his friend. "You'll be fine, trust me. Oxnard, go grab a gallon of that Old No.7 that Dae is so fond of. Daemon, I need you to sit down right here, and rest your arm up here."
"You're not really gonna use his ax are you Walker?"
"You know, I guess there is a less painful way to do this. Lay down on that table over there. Do you want to be awake or asleep?"
"Awake." Daemon replied and Walker began casting. Daemon didn't try to resist the spell that would paralize him but keep him awake. Walker finished preparations as Oxnard returned with two gallon jugs. He set one by the table and kept the second in his grasp. Daemon could only roll his eyes.
"O.K. Dae, here we go. Now you might feel a slight sting as I remove your left arm just below the shoulder." Daemon's eyes went wide with terror. "Oh wait, your right arm right?" Walker asked. Daemon wouldn't have laughed if he could but their dwarven friend nearly lost his seat.
Sting was hardly the word for what Daemon felt. Just because he was paralized didn't mean he was numb to the pain. Each cut of Walker's saw sent a jolt to his brain. Walker realized Daemon was in pain. He had barely broken the muscle tissue and then he stoped. "The Ax then? Look left for yes, right for no."
Daemon found a spot off to the left giving his consent. Walker motioned Oxnard over. The dwarf pulled a hair from his beard and dropped it over the blade of his ax. It rested there briefly before falling to the floor. "Oh well," he said. "I guess it's a good thing he doesn't need a hair cut." Daemon closed his eyes as the ax went up. There was a sharp pain, then nothing. He looked to his right arm and watched as Walker tied a leather strap
around the severed arm.
The ranger moved closer to Daemon. He released the spell and Daemon cried out. His left hand went instinctively to where his right arm used to be. Blood was still pouring out. "Give me the potion Walker." He drank the potion in a single swallow and studied his right arm. The flow of blood began to ebb and he looked to the dwarf. " I can't believe you choped my arm off, Oxnard." His friend just smiled and took another swig off his bottle.
After about a minute, the blood had completely stopped. "Any minute now, we'll be able to see your arm begin to grow back hand and all." Walker reassured his pale friend. And true to his word, the regeneration process began. . . then stopped as quickly as it started leaving Daemon with little more than a five inch stump where his arm once was.

No one said anything. The three friends looked to each other, then to Daemon's arm.Walker finally broke the silence. "I don't understand, by now you should have a full grown arm. Have some whiskey Dae. I'll think of something. Oxnard, what did you say your ax was called again?"
"Troll's Bane. Why?" Oxnard replied while taking another swig off his jug.
"WHAT!!" Daemon shouted. He charged his dwarf friend and Walker had to step between the two. "I'll kill you. Do you ever think? Gods you're so stupid." Daemon turned under the ranger's ushering and sat down next to his bottle. Walker asked Oxnard to leave in hopesof calming Daemon down. He paced a bit while Daemon drank from his bottle.
"I am sorry my friend. I did not know that his ax would curb the regenerative process. But, I have an idea if you're willing to take a chance and trust me once more. I have traveled to other worlds, Jazelle's world for instance. There the god they worship is called Technology. I spent many months there working with Jazelle's brother in a place that built "enhanced body parts for the physically challenged. I will bring you to him and he will fix
you up a new arm."
"Trust you huh?" Daemon asked finishing off his whiskey jug. "O.K. but the dwarf stays here."

"Jazelle," the Ranger called up the stairs. "We are going to visit your brother. Would you care to join us? Oxnard, you hold down the fort."
"Certainly love," Jazelle replied. "You know I have missed my family."
"The doorway is here my wife, you may go visit whenever you desire." Walker moved aside a small brick in the wall and a section of the wall slid outward. In the space behind the wall was a portal just as Walker had described. The two waited on Jazelle before entering. Daemon had his cloak on and what was left of his arm he kept from Jazelle's view. The lass stayed close to Walker's side as the trio step into the swirling mists.
So startled by the company's emergance from a mirror that the butler fainted. Jazelle ran over to revive him but when he opened his eyes he saw Daemon and passed out once more. "Come on Dae, the lass is home. Reggie will be fine. I think it would be best to usher you off to Russel's work than to meet her parents like this. It's only a few minutes away. I'll drive."
"You'll what?" Daemon asked. Walker lead the albino to the garage. "Here, put this on," he said, tossing Daemon a helm of sorts. Then he threw his leg over a two wheeled beast while strapping on one of his own. "Trust me Dae, it's faster than any horse on any world you've ever been to. Now, get on and put your good arm around me. When I lean you lean with me okies. And put the visor down, the last thing we need is you to catch a rock in the
eye at 220 klicks."
Daemon did as he was told. He didn't know what a klick was but 220 of them sounded like a lot. When he put the Visor down he was shocked. He could see in infravision. Heat signatures where overlaid on that which he looked at. Walker stood the beast on one wheel and it was all Daemon could do to hang on. When the front wheel came back down, Daemon could appreciate his friends warning about the beast. It was by far the fastest thing he had ever
ridden and it purred like a kitten beneath them. Not once after the initial take off did it buck like a horse would.
They pasted hugh buildings of stone, glass and metal before arriving at a large white palace. There was a lit sign with a red cross on it and it read "Hospital" Walker stopped the beast under a sign marked "emergency" and told Daemon to get off. Daemon did so and removed his helm as well. When Walker's helm was off he asked about the fine beast. "Later Dae, I'll teach you how to ride after you get your new arm."
"What about this helm, the infravision? I like it."
"It's nothing Dae, really. I could have Russel give you infravision while we're here. It would only be in one eye but that way you could see beyond then normal human's ability." The ranger lead his friend inside. A nurse jumped up and rushed over to them. She placed a wheeled chair behind Daemon. "Sit Dae. Nurse, we need to see Dr. Blair, right away."
"I'm sorry, Doctor Blair is in the operating room right now. Would you like to see someone else?" The nurse replied.
"Damnit Nurse. . . Sutting" Walker read her name tag. "This is an emergency. Send for Dr. Blair right away or I shall have you fired. Tell him Walker is here with his patient."
The nurse turned a white to rival the albino and Daemon could only looks up at his old friend. Within a minute she was back all appologies leading the two down a long hallway. Daemon sat comfortable while Walker pushed the chair. They came to a set of double doors and the nurse stopped outside. "If you'll excuse me, I need to get back to my post now. Dr. Blair is waiting for you.
They went into the doors as the nurse went back down the hall. Russel was waiting for them with a handfull of assistants. "Professor Walker," he began. "I am sorry for the delay, had I known of your arrival I would have cleared my schedule. Is this the paitent? Of course, how silly of me. He is in the wheelchair after all. A simple skin pigmentation process is hardly an emergency Professor."
"Russel, this is Daemon Satyriasis. As far as I know, he is quite happy with his skin tone, aren't you Dae?" Daemon nodded though he wasn't sure of what was going on he thought it some bizzare ritual do to the fact they were not alone. "My friend is in need of a new arm. Due to an unfortunate miscalculation my methods did not work. He has also mentioned a desire to have infravision in one of his eyes. Can you accomadate us tonight?"
"Certainly Walker, lemme see what we have to work with." He inspected the stump of Daemon's arm and then his other one. "Nurse Branfeld, go get me an optic enhancement kit and a Biolimb 285Series right arm. I don't suppose you have the other arm here professor?"
"I'll go get it. You prep him for the operation and I'll be back in a flash. Dae, you're in great hands. If you thought I should have been a gnome, wait till you see what this guy can do. You'll be 150% better in no time." With that, Walker was out the door and on his way back to the Blair Estate to return to his workroom.
"So you're Daemon?" Dr. Blair asked. Daemon nodded. "I've heard many great tales of your brashness. Is the missing limb a result of some great battle?"
"You wouldn't understand. I will need some help undressing."
"Certainly, Nurse Cray, help Mr. Satyriasis undress. I will prepare for your operation. When he is ready Miranda, lay him down on the operating table and begin the Nitrous." Dr. Blair left and after Nurse Cray undressed Daemon, she tied a small robe around him and lead him over to the table. She places a small clear mask over his mouth.
"Just breath normally" Within a minute Daemon was dead to the world, an odd smile on his lips. Walker and Dr. Blair returned at almost the same time. "That's a beautiful machine you got Russel. Why don't you pick me up two to take home."
"Anything for you brother. Shall we begin?" Dr. Blair motioned for the assistants to leave. Walker nodded and tied on a medical smock. "Just like old times," Dr. Blair remarked choosing to start with the Optical implant.

Several hours later Daemon awoke. The mask on his face allowing him to breath in pure oxygen. His head was bandaged and his arm was wrapped in a cold bandage. He looked around the room. The lights overhead were blinding but his right eye settled on his old friend. "Walker," he croaked. "How am I?"
"You look like crap Dae." Walker said. "The good news is you have two arms and hands again, along with infravision in your left eye. It will be disorientating at first as the mircochips adapt to your synaptic brain waves. The bad news is that you new arm rejected the skin grafting from your old arm. That is why we woke you. We want to know what you would like us to do."
"I don't understand half of what you said Walker. What's a microchip? or a skin graft? Let me see my arm, and take this damn bandage off my head." Walker unwrapped Daemon's arm while Dr. Blair unwrapped his head. His friend was right and Daemon's mind tried to overlay the heat signatures on his normal field of view. He reached his left hand to his left eye, it protruded slightly as if a shot glass were over his eye. He could feel it turning,
trying to focus so close.
He closed his left eye and his vision returned to normal. Then he looked down to his right arm. It looked like the arm of a zombie. The muscle tissue was alive and well, there was just no protective skin to cover it. His hand had skin covering it which gave him a small measure of comfort. Maybe his wife and daughter wouldn't shy away from him too much.
He opened his left eye and closed the right. His arm had no heat signature. He could feel, he could move his fingers but his arm wasn't as alive as it looked. He opened both eyes again. It was disorientating but he soon became used it. "Walker, bring me a mirror please." His friend brought him a mirror and a manical laughter escaped his lips. In order to accomadate the new arm and eye, a portion of his head had been shaved there was a small scar
with a few stiches holding it closed. At least the hair would grow back. nothing could be done about his arm.
"Walker, I believe you were gonna teach me to ride that strange beast." He stood from the bed and dressed himself. It was as if he had always had this arm. The hand was as dexerous as Daemon could think. He was already used to the heat overlay dispite the slight protrudment, he felt good.
"Dae, what about your arm?" Walker asked. "Don't you want skin covering it?"
"We could coat it in Kevlar, it would take only a few minutes and would be like permanant armor." Dr Blair put in. "You should know that the arm is 100 times stronger than what your old arm was. Just come with me and we'll coat your arm for you." The doctor put his hand on Daemon's shoulder but he shrugged it off and headed for the door.
"Let's go Walker, I have a wife and kid to return to." He threw his leg over the two wheeled beast and studied the reigns. He was strapping on his helm when Walker caught up to him.
"You know that was awful rude of you back there. What are you doing? You don't know how to drive this thing."
"So teach me."
Walker knew this Daemon all to well. He would get nowhere arguing with the Albino so he explained all the controls and gages to his friend. "O.K. you got your arm back, and I've explained the motorcycle to you. Do I get my adventure when we get home?"
Daemon started the bike up. If he was anything it was a quick learner. "When I get back home I will come visit next week. You get the gang together and we can go anywhere you want. Now get on and direct me home." Walker got on and Daemon got the bike moving. After some trial and error he had it down to an art. When the ranger tappedhis side, he slowed and turned that way.
Within minutes they were back at the Blair estates. Everyone was asleep for the night. Reggie opened the front door and Daemon drove the motorcycle right into the house. "Walker, I need the machine to get me back home. You will make the appologies if I don't stay the night." They weren't questions and the ranger knew it. Daemon stood the machine on one wheel and headed into the mirror. The mists had barely settled when Jazelle came down stairs.
"Where's your friend?" She asked Walker.
'If I know him, he's halfway to Neverwinter by now."

Oxnard heard a rumbling in the basement and went to the top of the stairs. A bright light blinded him and he stepped back quickly. He rubbed his eyes as Daemon drove the machine up the stairs and into the living room. "Hey Oxnard, get the door, I'll see you next week.
The dwarf half convinced he was drunk he opened the door and let Daemon and his magical beast out. "See you later whitey" he called and closed the door again. As he sat back down near the fire he mumbled himself back to sleep. 'Nah, couldn't have been. Gotta lay off the sauce.'
Daemon had right hand gage pegged and the left gage was near what Walker had explained as "red line" He didn't catch it all just that Red-lining was a "bad thing." The country field gave way to the paved road that lead past Port Llast to Neverwinter. He startled several riders before slowing long enough to put the hood of his cloak up. It's magicks encompassed him and the machine and the rest of his short trip was uneventful.
Arriving at the S.E.B. on Faerûn he stopped in the tent of the Arcane. "Arcane, I'm on my way home. I'll be back next week. Where does the next shuttle leave from." He waited forthe response before hurring to the launch Pad. He arranged cargo space for his machine and went inside the Bar to wait. A message posted on the wall caught his eye. It was a death warrant for his wife. He tore it down and went out to the shuttle.
"We're leaving now." He told the pilot. "You have five seconds to beging the launch sequence then you die." He studied the pilot with his left eye causing it to rotate as it focused. He smiled when a warm spot appeared in the pilots lap and he began the start up sequence. "So you know, my wife is in grave danger and once resloved, I will make up for any 'inconviences' you suffer for an early launch. Mind if I sit here?"
Daemon was sitting in the co-pilots seat when the man burst into the cabin. "You can't launch the passengers have not . . ." The rest of his sentence was lost to a back hand from Daemon's new arm. The co-pilot lay crumpled on the floor, his jaw shattered. The outter doors closed and the rocket motors fired taking the shuttle of two back to Rhydin.
"This thing practically flies itself huh?" Daemon asked. The pilot nodded. "Go clean yourself up will you, I can't stand the smell." The pilot washed up and changed into a spare uniform he kept in the closet on board. "That's better. See, we're almost home." The planet that Daemon called home neared. "As soon we land I will be departing through the cargo bay doors. You make sure they are open prior to touchdown."
The pilot did as he was told and opened the cargo bay doors. While they were still a few feet off the ground Daemon pulled his cloak's hood up and mounted the motorcycle. The ship touched down and the invisible albino was on his way to Rhydin town. He knew where he would find his wife and took the machine directly there.
