Birth announcement/ Fici

Dear Cygnet,

Jola asked me to let you know what's going on, so you wouldn't be worried if you heard rumors.

After the Warlord Tournament, Jola barely made it to the manor. She went into labor on the way home! This is about six weeks before the baby is supposed to be born. I guess I should tell you up front that she had the baby, it's a girl they named Claire Elyse, and she's stable.

Ulath had been home, thankfully, so was able to send for help. I wasn't home, but came back shortly after the uproar began. (Ulath was home because he forfeited out of the tourney, apparently due to reassessing his priorities) Because the baby was early, and it was obvious that she would have the baby soon, we weren't sure what to do. Fortunately, I have a contact in one of the larger science vessels in port at Red Star Station, and he was able to
transport over the ships OB/Surgeon/all-purpose doctor.

To make a long story short, Claire is small, but stable and breathing on her own. She had a rough start, we weren't sure she'd survive for awhile there. Jola is expressing milk because Claire has to be fed through a tube at the moment, but the docs expect her to be able to breastfeed in a week or so. Ulath and Aleath are here as well, and when the parents want to sleep or both tend to Claire, Aleath and I spend time together.

I expect to be heading back to RhyDin proper in the next day or so, possibly with Aleath in tow. Not sure yet when Jola will be back, Ulath will be back and forth. Jola will come back when Claire can.
