To Lord Adonai,
This missive is to inform that I, Var Medici-Giovanni, challenge you for your 7th ring. My reasons are simple, and, they will also be posted. Despite the fact that this reason may cause arguments, I have many people whom I think deserve to know who I challenge and why. It is for this reason I post this letter.
Simply stating, I did not, and will not, agree with your actions as you sought to bring barons to support Huma. The condemning of them was even more disappointing. I like Huma, although his previous actions were a tad disappointing as well. However, I do not wish to go off topic.
Your desire was to have the loyal barons support Huma, when he is renegade. Personally, I do not think this is a bright move, since they are on opposite views. The fact you accuse them of turning your back on Huma is not only an insult to them, but an insult to Dal. You expect loyalties to swift to a renegade's side, because he's on the hot spot.
As a result, you pronouncing you switching to renegade, and acted inappropriately through insults/condemning, I challenge you for your ring.

Patrons of the Duel of Swords,
I have read the challenge of the Warlord and understand his meanings. But I have at no time switched my loyalties to the Crown, nor to I intend to do so.
The Warlord is in error in his perception of a heated debate in which I had in the Arena late one night as I was upset with the public castigation of the Renegade Huma. I did not ask, nor expect the Loyals to openly support Huma in anyway. But I did ask and state rather vehemehently that he, being a Baron, Renegade or no, should not be the object of such public degrading from his peers in title. A Baron is a Baron, no matter his political
affiliations. And such disrespect towards a peer, in my eyes downgrades the titles as a whole. And THAT was the cut and thrust of my argument. Which the Warlord has mispercieved.
I am in communication with the Warlord to see if his intentions are still true after an explanation has been offered. And if he still wishes to go forward I would hope that he could produce another set of reasons. As the ones he has stated here are if not untrue, definately mispercieved.
And if he must press issue after I have made my explanation of my actions and the true meaning of the debate of that night. Then prepare...because I will be extremely swift in the ending of this challenge.

I do not see it wrong for you defending a friend. That is not the reason of my challenge. I think it is wrong when you condemn those that you think do not side with Huma. You claimed that the loyal barons turned their back on Huma, when they merely state their points of view.
I have my facts clear, and I am showing no attempt to hide my feelings. Yet I did not post something publically, because I know that the topic would shake the boards with anger and disagreement.
I respect Huma, and to me he is a good friend. I heard what was said in the debate, and that's what I don't agree with. You seem to write that last statement, as a way to make me look like the bad guy. Shall I say my last statement, even though it will make the readers wonder?

Honor? You wish to speak of honor? My pardon Var. But I believe I have been somewhat civil publically...but you still attempt to disrespect me as much as possible on these boards. I have kept my dislike for your challenge to myself as yet publically and have not brought out any of my reasons for that dislike.
So do not speak to me of honor Var, because your not showing any yourself. Your challenging a loyal Baron on the grounds of what you heard when I was upset and in a heated debate. You state that I have gone renegade. When I have done no such thing. You state that I insulted Iain....when he did the same to me. You cast me as wrong in places where it is easy to do so and I cannot defend against your accusations and I have made little attempt to

"It truly is a sad day when Barons and the Overlord are not allowed to make mistakes before someone wagers challenge to them."
For every Warlord, ex-Warlord, and Warlords-to-be before making Challenge. Expectations are high and slightest mistake can end up costing you a beloved Ring. No one is perfect, yet many seem to believe that they should be in order to hold the Crown or a Ring.
Think about that stament before challenging, on impulse or not.
