I don't believe I wrote anything that would disagree with that statement, Collie. Rather, I was pointing out one reason why there would be a difference in rulings between when one has "officially" acquired his/her peer wins as opposed to when a Baron has "officially" changed his or her alignment to renegade.

The acquisition of peer wins is a topic quite different from a Baron's ability to change alignment. They entail different rules and standards, and as Kaprielle pointed out, they enjoy seperate historical rulings.

The gentle seraph reads what the honorable Kalamere, 16th and 26th Overlord of the DoS, has posted on the ancient board;

"As to Dalamar's popularity, that point is certain.
Though, if he follows through with the plan of using
the Test of Worthiness against a Baron,
I know for fact he'll have at least one less loyal supporter."

Her eyes shimmer a deep midnight blue as the profound truth of the former Overlords words ring clear, for surely a titled Baron has proven a fit and worthy opponent, be he renagade or loyal. What Overlord, above reproach, would require this test?, the angel wonders in silence as she leaves the board.

To you that are so fearful as to slander the names of the Loyals with no signature,

Your slanderous letter has left me near speechless, rodent. Whoever you are, you will come to know that those that are truly Loyal to Dalamar, are so out of friendship. And to call us lapdogs is to invite your own doom.

You have a bold mouth, to speak in such disparaging ways of myself, Jeffery OakenShield, Sartan, Adeena Maxx, Luthien Tinuviel, and AJaybird of Ballyntyne...those that have been before their titles...and will be after, loyal to Dalamar as friends...Crown or no.

So next time cur, if you are so brave, sign your name...and let those that are your betters punish you for your slanderous postulations.

::writes, out of curiosity::

Evan~

I was wondering, should you become Overlord (I will *not* speculate), how would you feel should you be treated in the very same manner by a Baron you considered Loyal as Dalamar has been treated by you, with such a sudden alignment change and challenge? Would you be as quick to reprimand him, or would you remember this time and scold yourself for going against something you previously spoke of with such emotion?

Strider wanders up to the long list of posts, glancing through the details of the Overlord challenge, the details pertaining to the rights of the Baron to do so, and the thoughts of everyone else on their opinions of the upcoming event before posting....

"I think that the wise DoS Joker had it best with his Piffle Prophecy, personally. When things go awry, it is the nature of the sport. We all have an unwritten code of respect and honor in all of the dealings here... such as the fact of the higher ranks warning commoners that they may use fancies on them instead of just springing them out in the middle of a match. It is the most honorable and accepted way to go about it, but not law. A higher
rank has every right not to warn the commoner who does not ask his rank, and use his fancies to the best of his abilities because the rules of the sport allow him to do so.
While I think that Evan may have perhaps broken the unwritten order that is most widely accepted and used, I also think that he is within his rights and should not have to answer all of this strife over his choice. Things will turn out one way or another in the future, but be that as it may.... if we worry about tomarrow, we'll have little joy today."

Grins to himself as he signs the post... not feeling that it is the best of the best.... but at the very least a post among posts.

::Reads the huge chain, sighs::

Why can't they stop arguing, and then they can "debate" it when a true decision occurs? Since when was a person who was loyal to a friend, called a lap dog? Since when did these people who insult others publically lack the courage to identify themselves? Perhaps time will heal the wound that is cutting through the heart of DoS.

::He writes a few words, cryptic, but is stating it so, so those who read it will take time to think of the meaning and not try to argue. His words now, are after serious thought, and the wrongs he did::

::Walks up to the board and looks at it with an almost ill look on his face. He considers posting, and is almost stooped by the thought of angering most everyone in DoS and getting trounced on as he is only a lowly commoner. Walks Unseen, however, has never been one to not speak his mind so he picks up a quill::

To everyone who is not involved in the subject of my post, thank you. I'm sure you'll know who you are. I must raise issue with the insults flying about here. I find it disgusting that members of note are insulting the loyal barons simply because of their traditions. <<You and your group, hiding behind these letters and Warlords is very sad.>> If you think that, fine, but I think "lap dogs" is a bit extreme.

And, to the Overlords' lap dogs, pouncing on someone and saying that you're going to challenge him and beat him etc. as a group because you don't like them or their politics is not very noble if you ask me.

So, anyway, the message here is saying you don't like the politics involved, or don't think the challenge is valid is one think, but lap dogs and dead meat are a bit... undignified.
