Is it that I am a commoner that causes such a rude reaction when I manage to win? Not once have I whined or complained about the use of earned modifers. The use of superiour skills to garner a full point by your defense(Fancies).
Why should one of a higher rank sulk and act with the honor of a rodent when I have bested them?
Thoughts to ignore or consider, but know well that your example is noted and some commoners have long memories.

What is this? Just because one is silent in the ring after a few moves, that makes them a poor sport? Think about this: When one gets hit 4 times in the ring, the first few times he/she says "nice move" or "well done" but doesn't bother to say it the fourth time. That makes them rude? That makes them a poor sport? Perhaps one figures you would know that the fourth strike was well executed too, he just didn't bother to say it.
I didn't acknowledge a well executed move performed in the ring. Many don't. Sometimes they have things on their mind. It's that reason, and another, as to why I didn't acknowledge your move. I won't post the second reason, because it would be mudslinging.
Though I will point out this: You speak of rudeness, but you failed to mention where you were in the wrong. You actually left Turi's ring before the duel ended, and that, in my opinion, is the biggest possible insult to a caller. Regardless of your acknowledgement towards her, I know if someone left a practice ring I was calling just because, I would never want to call for that person again.
If my silence was offensive, then I apologize.
I do think you expect too much from people, though. If I were to up and leave a ring just because my opponent failed to give me credit to a move, I would be too demanding. You can't just leave a duel because you don't like your opponent, or what he's not saying. If I were a real poor sport, perhaps I could have contacted Turi and asked for a win, because you left the duel before the final round was called.
However, I acknowledged that win, and I didn't bother, because you earned that win. From now on, though, I hope you work on that behavior of yours.

First off, I mentioned no names, is it that your conscience so plagues you that you whine and decry foul upon the boards? Two, if you had paid any attention at all you would have noted that I bowed _and_ thanked the Lady Scad for her time, for I have nothing but respect for those that hold such an oft-time thankless job.
Next, I do not demand, nor want your compliments, however, there are some people who are empathetic enough((Yes, my character is an empath and you put more than enough on the screen to support the attitude she has presented)) to sense when someone is sulking and looking for some reason, other than anothers' skill, to lay blame for self-failure. It was not your silence that offended it was your ill-hid thoughts.

Couer, you're complaining that Var complimented your first 3 moves, but not your fourth? In my 9 months of dueling, I've probably dueled about 30 times (yes, that's all). In those 30 duels, rarely would either I or my opponent compliment each other's moves during a duel. Yes, we would show courtesy by bowing and wishing each other luck in the beginning, and by bowing and complimenting the other at the end, but very rarely would one of
us compliment one singular move in the middle of a duel. There isn't always time, plus it would get very repetitious.
While I understand why you might be upset, you being a commoner, who might not know about the common procedures done while dueling, I think that you were overreacting a bit.

My goodness, I cant believe you people. You are argueing about wether you should compliment your opponent? At least she said something at all. When I am in the ring I just snarl, or putt down my oponent? There is no law requireing for you to have respect for your oponent? Most times I don't even bow to them. So what if it is disrespectfull and rude? I mean we are thrusting our swords through them? And you expect them to bleed AND compliment on
how you may have damaged them for life? ::Laughs:: You guys have a lot to learn. I say do whatever it takes and dont look back. Thats the only way to get things done.

Although I don't totally agree w/ Ace, his opinions are refreshing compared to what other people were saying earlier, concerning having to compliment every single move (at least that's what I interpreted them as saying). While I do believe in some sort of respect (it's a sport, people, not a war), there's got to be a limit.
