It's MY ring....
From: humadragbn@aol.com (HumaDragbn)
Date: 13 May 1998 22:54:15 EDT
RyDin, and all who live here;
Be aware that the fourth ring is mine by right. I broke the curse, i defended the ring more than anyone ever has. This scumbag Jesse, being the cowardly underling of Dalamar, turned the ring over so that there would be no renegades left under Dalamar's rieng. The fourth ring is mine...and I will have it back, if I do not make it to the Warlords tournament to reclaim my property, be forwarned whoever claims it, I will have it back.
The DoS has gone to hell. There is no honor left here anymore. The ego's have gotten to big around here. What few of us that have decent morals have been scourned by scumbags. I am ready to leave...if I do, those who only step on the meaning of honor will remain. I made the hasty decission to leave last eve, after loosing what meant the world to me. There is much injustice in this realm, and I intend to do something about it. If anyone gets my
ring before I do, be warned, I will get it back, and to Dalamar....I am coming. Your underlings can't stop me as a warlord....I am coming, your days are numbered pal....

::Smiles as she reads Huma's words::
That's the spirit, Huma dear............
Fight for what you and so many others here hold dear...... For if those of us that hold Honor and Integrity above all else are not willing to stand up and say and do something about the decay and moral decline here in RhyDin, then all the speeches and well meant words are worth nothing. They become little more than the paper they're tacked to these boards on.
Take back what is yours. Take it back ~~ not just for yourself, or to show that you can. Take it back for all of us who believe in Honor and Integrity. Take it back..........

M'Lord Huma
For the sake of avoiding too blatant an arguement, I will simply believe you did not mean your statements about the people who are here to be as sweeping as you made them.
There -are- some of us who hold honor... There -are- some of us who do not seek glory for glory's sake...
If, by some light of grace and skill, I am the one who wins the fourth ring, do not think I will give it up lightly. I will, however, grant you the right to attempt to take it from me, should you garner the proper prerequisites to do so. And I will grant you honor in the ring and out of it, whatever the outcome...
But -never- imply that those who remain should you leave are "those who only step on the meaning of honor", for -that- I take firm exception to.

Drake, think please. There are some with honor, not many, but there are some. The majority is scum of the earth. However, there are some good seeds in the group. As for if you get the ring...then I will take it from you, and will hold no ill will for you. I feel that ring is mine by right, and I will never stop, untill i take it back. There is no tension between you and I Drake, and I do not intend to put any there, simply put, if you
claim the fourth ring, I'll be coming very soon to get it. Nothing personal against you. Or anyone else who may win it in the tourney. I am just warning who ever gets it, that I will be coming for it.

Huma,
You're a good guy, a good friend. You are speaking out of anger, and I, of all people, know how that is, what it's like.
You should reread what you wrote and consider your words, and perhaps rephase what was said. Please don't condem the whole for the faults of the few.
Maybe I have an ego, but it's not as big as some. I hold Honor, Respect, and Friendship very highly, and I know many who do.
If you leave, I remain, like Drake, and using us as examples, Neither of us step on the meaning of Honor. And I know quite a few others who are the same.
When you get teh chance, I will be one of the first to applaud you regaining your title of Baron of the 5th Ring, just consider your words when you make the posting.
I'm not flaming you, or critisizing you.
Still your friend, and an Honorable, Loyal, Respectful Warlord that remains in DoS,

oh and Jeff, for clarification, Dal had sent more than one warlord after me. He had insulted me on a few accounts. that is reason enough there. As for Jesse, next time I get the chance, he'll leave the ring in a bag. End of story.

________________________________________________________________________
Huma, please do not take offence to this for I feel that I need to say something to you.
I must ask you Huma, if I were to obtain the Fourth Ring, the only Ring that I have ever held, would you produce ten peer wins and challenge me? I consider you a friend. I have always felt a mutual feeling from you. If I were to take the Fourth Ring, slip it over my finger and take the Baronal rights that come along with it, would you challenge me? And if you did, what honor would you name it under?
I am afraid to say this.
I believe that you are obsessed with the Ring. Perhaps it goes beyond the Ring, perhaps it is your dislike to Dalamar that goes along to this obsession, perhaps your ego could not take the pounding it took when Jacob defeated you and did not even care about the Ring enough to defend it from all the pressing challenges he knew he would recieve and tossed it away.
When I held the Ring, Huma, I was the first to defend it three times. Who cares? That part of my past has been forgotten by almost all but myself. I never challenged Gnort when he claimed the ring from me. You were the first to defend it four times. Do you really believed there was a curse put upon the Fourth Ring?
I was the one, if you remember, who said "By laws of the Fourth Ring, should you be secessful Huma, this should be your last challenge before someone takes it off your finger. Only two Baron's before you in the fourth Ring had defended it secessfully three times, Lupton and myself. Of course, since nieter on of us are still holding it, you can tell what happened in our fourth. ;-)" But, my words were mere humor.
What I am trying to say Huma, is that please do not allow yourself to destroy all the respect you have for one silly, stupid ring that holds nothing more than advancement of power. As many more before me have said, respect comes not with power, it comes with how you treat others. The ring is not yours, it's not mine, or Dalamar's or Lupton's or Shade's or Phlag's or Halo's... the ring belongs to the Duel of Swords.
Let it go Huma, Let it go.

M'Lord Huma.
Simply put, I -did- think before I wrote what I did... If I had not, mayhaps I would have used much stronger words.
Now I will move on to my next -statement- concerning your -statements-. Please note that I highlight these words to avoid any hint that I might mean -arguement-.
No ring is -anyone's- by right. Should Jeff, for example, successfully defend against a hundred more challengers, and then fall to the hundred and first, then -that- person shall be the right and proper bearer of the eighth ring... and I am fairly certain that Jeff will agree with me on this. That will -not- stop Jeff from trying to re-take the ring, but unless the person who wins it from him is a total lout, I -believe- that Jeff will still
treat him with the honor and respect that a Baron deserves.
And what if I was the one who defeated you for the ring? And what if I decided to keep the ring? Would you pledge to defeat me no matter the cost? And how would that make you much different from what you claim about Dalamar working to remove the ring from your finger?
Duel because you have skill and honor... Challenge because you have fire in your heart... Win because you have strength and perseverance... but do -not- quest for vengance alone, because it makes a cold supper indeed.

Huma,
I am glad to see you have decided not to leave, but clearly what happened last night has deeply warped your sense of reality. I am terribly sorry that you feel the need to lash out like this, but I assure you, Jesse was not someone I sent to take the ring from you. I have no "underlings" and Jesse is not even a friend of mine. As for you "coming" for me, I will be here eagerly waiting the challenge. You have always proven yourself a worthy
opponent and honorable duelist, and I shall look forward to the excellent test in the rings.
Now, as a former bearer of the Fourth Barons Ring, I can assure you that you have no claim to that ring that I, Halo, Shade, Phlag, Damien, Gnort, Lupton, or anyone else does not have. Although I do admit you have proven the most successful defender of the ring, an accomplishment which you will always be remembered for.
Lastly, on a side note, I do hope this needless insulting ceases soon. While I can more than accept that you wish to see me removed from my current position, I cannot believe that you should now of all times feel the need to vehemently express this intense hatred of myself that you seem to possess.
a bit saddened,

There goes a smart man....let it go son.
*IF* ya' won't let it go and insist on this "Majority of people here are scumbags" Please boy, make a list and tell us exactly who you deem a scumbag and you feel if the moral minorty around the DoS. Aside from getting yer arse royally kicked I'm sure yer gonna find alot of people ya' call Moral disagreein' with some of the people ya' call scumbags.
On a side note...Jesse don't know Dal and Dal don't know Jesse. I know how upset people get when they lose a title, I get rippin', but ta' call yer loss a conspiracy is silly. If Dal wanted ya' out that bad there were more skilled duelers willin' ta' do it. Point is, Dal probably wanted ya' there as the token renegade because now with all loyalists you and yer ilk are gonna go slap happy and try ta' even the odds.
Problem with this is that ya' gonna go fer rings fer the wrong reason. If ya' love the ring, win it back fer the right reason, not because ya' think ya' own it. I thought I owned a ring once...and then I lost ta' Draven...damnit, that guy pisses me off but ya' know? He still beat me and he was baron and not me. I got over it...you will too.
That's about it...
PS: If ya' ever have some plan of revenge brewin', the best thing ta' do is keep it secret, a plan that everyone knows ain't much of a plan.

Alright people, listen up. For those of you who have no idea, let me put it this way. If you have a child, say your spouse leaves, and forcefully takes the child by legal means. Then, right there, turns the child over for adoption, how would you feel? The ring i wore is a big difference than a child yes....but in general principle, it is the same. Jesse, not knowing me, having never spoke with me, just decides I am to be challenged. Then,
decides he doesn't deserve the ring? Call me obsessed, but this was a disquisting form of cowardise and dishonor to these rings and to the title. There have been people who have challenged for Baron, simply to have a fifth fancy move. I was actually trying to do something good with the title, altho, I did not do a good enough of a job, I feel I wore the ring and title better than *some* others have worn the title of baron. (that's not aimed at
anyone) I am far from perfect, I run my mouth, I get arrogant...I am human. I have no magic, I have not the life span of the elves, I am not a god. I am but a simple common every day human man. There is nothing special about me, excpet that I try. I've offered help to those in need, I've gave up my own free time to help the RDI's, by becoming one myself. I've gone out of my way for this sport, and what do I get? A scumbag out of the blue takes my
ring, just to turn it over to the warlords tourney. Is this justice? Obsessed? Yes I am, and everyone better believe, I will get that ring back, only death will keep that ring from my finger...mark my words. It means the world to me. If anyone doesn't like my methods, or hasty reactions, that is your choices.
I am Huma

decides he doesn't deserve the ring?
I am Huma
