::Squints, reading the signature at the bottom to see who it is that issued the challenge, wondering where they get those bright colors::
Jeez. These challenges get kinder by day.

::Forgot to write something::
Wasn't there a discussion about needing the peer wins to be one week old before you can challenge?
From my recollection, this disagreement was spawned when Evan challenged just hours after he accumulated the peer wins. Perhaps, it was Rand. I don't recall off the top of my head.

::looks up at board, mutters::
<That prophecy of the crow and falcon, or Ryleigh's frequent refrain - could it be happening? First Huma was beaten by an upstart, and now Jeff Oakenshield is being challenged? A new age may dawn soon, but can't be sure if for good or for bad.>
::lifts pen::
<Nah, better wait and see before opening my mouth>
::stares at board a few seconds, walks away, w/o writing anything::

::reads of the challenge and has full faith in the Dwarf , Reads a bit further and notes the usual commentary that is bound to follow any challenge. Tiring of the same retoric from the same non mud throwing person decides to speak to the issue. Pens a short message to the bottom of of the list::
Lord Medici,
I consider you to be a friend and would nae wish tae ruffle yer feathers too much, but it seems tae me ye have got to find somethin tae do with yerself. I see a challenge made, I know their are those tha' will see the requirements are met before the match will proceed. Can ya nae let them do their jobs without alertin the community to wha' ye feel may be an illegal challenge? If it is valid, Jeff will do wha' he does so well. If it is invalid, the
warlord will be delayed in his quest. Come by the arena and I will buy us a drink and we can discuss this till the cows come home.
Repspectfully,
Seamus

K'yorl Jarlaxel person, or whoever you are. I hope you are ready for Jeff, because I don't believe you are. I am not putting down your dueling skills or anything, but it seems that Jeff excels in just about every sport in which he participates. You better watch out challenging him. Oh, and another thing, he is the one holding the ring currently so, please show some respect.
Jeff, good luck. Duel well and honorably.
Bane
'til next time, duel with skill and honor.
*Environmental note: Please, no Bane bashing

::Saunters into the arena, tugging black crepe from Lucian's old table as she passes. Impatiently glances up to the doorway, hoping the Druid will appear and sing for her.
Glances over to Jaem and watches him dawdle over a piece of paper stuck up on the board. Bored waiting for Marzan to show and dance with her, she stamps over to the board as Jaem leaves, passing her as he mutters about hawks,. Peering at the paper Jaem had spent so much time persuing , her mouth drops open::
Nae know tha'! Jeffery Rottingshild? There be me Jeff, an' another Baron Jeff?
::reads it again as she motions frantically for Marcus to leave the barrel of Ale he was wrestling and come to her::
Marcus, how many Baron Jeffs be there.
::Marcus look at her guardedly, as if she is asking a trick question. She stares hard at him, reaching into her belt and pulling out a copper::
Come on luv, ya can do it.
::Marcus waves one finger and snatches the coin. Chuckling, she peers up at the banners above, looking for one she doesn't recognize::
Aye luv, tha' wha' I thought. Jeffrey Rottingshield...ya ever see him?
::Marcus flashes and impish grin shrugginh as he gamely looks up at the banners with her. After a few minutes of silence he offers::
Maybe it be its supposed te be Oakenshield?
::She laughs, her dark green eyes flashing as she shakes her head::
Nae luv, I been learnin' me letters real well. I show ya.
::leans over the table flick out her dagger and carefully writes out::
O A K E N S H I E L D
R O T T I N G S H I L D
::smiles carefully explaining to the child, just the way Ashe has been explaining to her::
Ya see luv, it be simple ta tell when words are nae ta same. First, one starts wi' an O an' ta other a R. Next, there more letters in one than ta other. Sometimes they still be ta same word, just more o' it. But when they do that they add an S to ta end, an' these things end in D ::shrugs:: so... Sides this one be a Jeffery, me Jeff be a Jeffrey. It be quiet a puzzle.

Well, lets see, I've fought cockier and ruder duelers. I've fought worse and better duelers. So what's dat make ya? Oh yeah dat's right...just another number, number 20 ta be exact.
Challenges are nothin' new ta me bucko, and if ya don't wanna show any respect yer not gonna get any back. Be prepared ta wait, I'll take me good ole time, and when I'm ready ya will get a duel.
See ya in da rings, and win or lose no one is gonna respect yer arse so all yer gettin' a shot at is a piece of jewelry :-)
Yer Truly,

Somehow, this is not how I pictured the single chance for me to retain my distinction of having held the eighth ring for the longest period of time.

Because yer last two peer wins were not posted at da time of challenge, RDI Golden has ruled it invalid
Fer all yer time spent on bein' rude, maybe ya should try and get da challenge right first :)

Say Seamus...
Did you ever think that maybe Var was just trying to help educate people who read these boards on the proper means of a challenge?
You seem to be getting a little sour about things... Let me buy you a few drinks... the world's not that bad a place, really.
