Zach took her to see a concentration camp before he took her to the base. She couldn’t believe the level of suffering there. Although the capacity to build and develop weapons had been ruined in the first attack it was obvious they were using these people to get all of that going again. Zach looked at her "I think it is one of the ultimate evils to force people to actively participate in their own demise. These people will be
liberated again and those that have subjugated them ‘again I might add’ will be put to the death." Khrys looked at him and didn’t know what to say so she said absolutely nothing. She couldn’t help but wonder how people could do this to each other.
Zach smiled at her gently "Khrys do you know why I absolutely can’t stand Wilkerson?" She just looked at him and shook her head. Still holding her numbed gaze he said "Because this is what we just liberated all of them from, including him. We help them out get them feeling a little better and look at what happens. He turns into a finger pointer and blame layer and uses that to justify his actions just like the former regime." His face twisted
into an anger she had no idea he was capable of "To take people and enslave them and force them to help wipe themselves out is one of the darkest evils in the universe" He turned around sighed and then looked back at Khrys "Sorry! I just absolutely hate seeing this and I hate the fact that we will have to be the ones to clean up the rest of this mess."
Khrys looked down and said "I understand. I don’t like it….but I understand." Zach turned back to the console and a few minutes later they were arriving at the base. They were greeted by one of the intelligence people and Zach went with them to a meeting. Zach kissed Khrys goodbye for just a few minutes "I hope!" he had said. He wasn’t gone long and returned to his room and Khrys. She noticed a change in his demeanor and asked about it. "I
will be going after Wilkerson soon. The local commanders will force them out of the camp and we will pursue them and finish them off. The locals will be regarded as the kind liberators which will help them re establish order. We will ensure that the ‘problem’ doesn’t resurface for a long time. They asked if it could be worked like that and we agreed. It turns out that Wilkersons bunch is a little more difficult to handle than they thought."
It was well known that they were getting their supplies from the inside, as in ‘stolen’. It had been intended to be that way. A very special shipment had been set aside a long time ago just for this situation. Some of it had already been taken and they knew right where it was. The new special shipment was made ready and conveniently left for the taking. The traitors had forged a special relationship with one of Gregs and Zachs buddies. The
following morning Randy walked back in and acted as if nothing had happened at all during the night. Now all of the traitors were out of the base and not one of them knew how to find it. Arrivals and departures had been at a very high speed. They only knew it was somewhere to the south. Randy smiled at Greg and then slapped him on the back. Raising his eyebrows at Zach "Well are you knuckle heads ready?" Gregs arm suddenly snaked around Randys arm
and he found Gregs lifting upward bending his arm the wrong way. Zach looked up "That looks like it might hurt a bit you treasonous scum! You have been helping them steal supplies!" Randy got flustered and yelled "You told me to!" Zach and Greg looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders. Greg said "He is right. We did tell him to do it." Zach looked down "I guess you’re right. Let him go." "Sorry Randy we just got all excited about all of
this."
Randy just shook his head and laughed "You guys scare me sometimes." Greg Said "Good! Now let’s live up to our bad and nasty reputations. Did they stage all of the new supplies in the backup area?" Randy laughed "Of course they did. They will grab the first stolen shipment and regroup at the second stolen shipment. That is if you guys can control them and herd them." Zach threw his arms around Randy "That is what I love about you." He planted a
kiss on the top of his head while Randy frantically pulled away. As Randy pushed him away he looked over at Greg "I thought this idiot got married." Greg smiled back at him "He is much more in touch with his feelings now as a result. I rather like the change don’t you?"

"Come on you moron! I just pried Greg away from Cindy. Now let’s get going." Zach looked down at Khrys and smiled. "I have to go. I will be back in a few days." She looked back up at him "I know you will….just be careful. I don’t want anything happening to you." He squeezed her one last time "I will be careful." He quietly turned and left the room. Khrys went along a good distance behind him. She had a really bad feeling about this
one and couldn’t figure out if it was a feeling coming from him or just foreboding. When she got to the staging area all she saw was soldiers. They had everyone of General Deseret’s men there and all of them were heavily laden with backpacks, ammunition and weapons. She had never seen them all together before and she had never seen such a quiet come over all of them. This was by far the sternest bunch she had ever seen in her life.
The air was warm and muggy and there was nothing but silence and tension in the air. They all stopped and quietly prayed at the end of the prayer they had a moment of silence. In unison all of them saluted the General and orders were given in the strange language. They turned and entered the ships and were gone. Khrys just stood there and jumped when she heard a sigh next to her. It was Cindy and she was staring out at the now empty space
where all of the huge ships had been. Khrys looked at her "I don’t think I will get used to this ever. Do you?" "Nope!" Cindy said without hesitation. They walked over to General Deseret and he smiled at them. Try not to worry about them, they should be all right on this one as well.
Several thousand miles away the massive ships were dropping supplies and troops at the pre designated locations. As they entered the areas everything they had was cached and they would proceed to the rendezvous areas. They would then be moved by air to the primary contact area. By the end of the day every body was in position and they gave the signal to the locals to push them out of the camps. That attack was to come very late at night.
It was two thirty A.M. when they initiated the attack. The guard towers were cleaned off within moments and the barracks were razed with machine gun fire. Very few of them got out of the area in time to save their skins. The attack was so sudden and precise that even Greg and Zach were both shocked and impressed. Even with the heavy casualties the locals had inflicted on them Zach and Greg were still severely outnumbered. Greg looked over
at Zach as the reports came in "It will be a little less interesting." Zach laughed "Darn! They had all of the fun."
They were waiting very close to where the first batch of stolen supplies were located. As Wilkersons men were chased they were antagonized into taking wild shots. The wild shots got much more frequent the closer they got to the re supply area. Both Judgement and Mercy were with Zach laying low with ears flat against their heads. As they watched through binoculars they couldn’t help but laugh. Most of them had grabbed their weapons and had
managed to get dressed on the fly. However quite a few of them were wearing underwear, backpacks, unlaced boots and carrying weapons at a very high rate of speed. It was quite amusing to watch them. Randy radioed them "How do they look?" Greg laughed "Pretty darn funny actually. We could have taken all of them right here I suspect."
As they waited the traitors regrouped and re supplied as well. They were to make sure that all of them had arrived before they started in on them again. The reports came from the scanning ships way overhead that all of them had been brought in or terminated.

Wilkersons men were attacked as soon as they had fully regrouped and re supplied. They were attacked from a good distance as the idea was to force them to move. Just about all of the ammunition they had re supplied with was uniformly defective. There was inadequate powder in the shells and most of the rifle grenades were duds or very weak and lacking the required range. The day wore on and they were herded into the other re supply
area mostly from behind. It wasn’t really required to give them the direction they had wanted them to head, as they had to get to the new supplies quickly anyway. As they continued their retreat charges were set behind them. Judgement and Mercy could hear the air blowing through the trip wires and pick up scents so nobody got hurt. Just slowed down a bunch. They weren’t in a hurry however all they had to do was keep them moving. the real battle
wouldn’t happen until the next morning at the earliest.
All of the ammunition at the destination point was normal as far as potency was concerned all except for mortar rounds and grenades. The grenades all had fast fuse in them but they looked normal so attempts to cut the fuse would look successful. They just didn’t realize that cutting the fuse only sped the time up by one one hundredth of a second. The rifle grenades would explode in the barrels as would the mortar rounds. None of these items
would be used until an attack was affected against them so they would never know until it was far too late.
As the enemy drifted into the area and found the required supplies they began to set up for an actual attack, which they knew would have to come. This is what was wanted, it had been General Deserets idea to make them feel safe enough in this area to actually attempt a counter offensive. As soon as they checked the ammo and found it to be up to full strength they began digging in. They set up a good perimeter defense network of booby traps
all of this was done under the watchful eye of the advance troops that were already in the area. Any patrols that passed through the area were allowed to pass without incident. When Greg and Zachs teams arrived late in the night, they went to work removing the booby traps or de activating them. It was impressive how they had learned to do double tension traps. If you were stupid enough to just cut the trip wire, it still went off. The only way to
beat those was to locate the source and pin it before even touching the wire. Fortunately every one knew better and no body got hurt. All of the pursuing teams knew to check before doing anything. No body so much as touched a stick or vine either as quite often that was attached to a trip wire to help conceal a trap. Many of the traps were rewired as they backed out during the night so as to provide harassment and diversion. Wilkersons men were
allowed to set up for the long haul as they were digging everything in. Not one of them realized what a fatal mistake that was going to be.

"All right we are set." Quickly all points checked in. It was one hour before sunrise and the enemy would be awakening, those that had been allowed to sleep that is. Zach and Greg radioed Randy "Your call!" Randy returned quickly "I want to get this over with too so let’s start in ten minutes." Greg and Zach responded enthusiastically "Let’s get this show on the road." "On my mark three…two….. one…set" Randy responded. Both Greg
and Zach responded "Set!" The countdown was on and every one was settling in for a good fight. At ten minutes the explosions started shaking the ground at random locations. All of the traitors explosives had been set on switches so that it would give the appearance of a large and wild charge of reckless soldiers coming towards them with reckless abandon. It took a few moments for the inevitable response but it was obvious where the mortars were
within moments. Dummy rounds were being fired by Randy’s crews so when the mortars themselves started blowing up with the crews it was assumed that they were really good shots. The mortars were all self-destructed in a few minutes. Most of the rifle grenade launchers and those that carried them were destroyed as well.
The attack was stopped at that moment and silence fell on the entire area. Nobody made a sound for about an hour. The entire time was spent sizing each other up. Wilkerson’s troops had been cut in half from what they could tell. They were surrounded with no way out and Wilkerson knew it. It now came down to whether he would surrender or die. "Zach...Greg...We have enough mortar rounds to walk them right out of there if you want to." Zach
responded to Randy "What kind of grid are you thinking of?" "How about one every ten feet, starting on their front lines and pushing them back out so you guys can catch them in the woods? "Greg and Zach said in unison "That would work. There aren’t any mines so you could push them out as soon as you finish that with a direct assault." Randy laughed "Zach remind me to kiss you on the top of your the head next time I see you. I just love the way you
think. Try not to get jealous Greg. I am attracted to you but not like that."
Zach keyed his radio "All right enough of that. I will go to the far side and we will let you know when we are ready. We will set up forty five degrees to the end of your line Randy. Greg you do the same on this side. I want a one hundred twenty degree cross fire set up. Greg we do not want them to know what we are doing until Randy has pushed all of them out or we will be getting shot in the back. I hear that hurts " Two hours before
sunset every one was in position and Randy went through the set and countdown.
The mortar crews were phenomenal one hit every ten feet in a line starting about fifty feet in front of the troops. As the rounds walked their way inwards the enemy began to bail out of the foxholes and ran like hell. No one even shot at them the entire time except there was a line of heavy machine gun fire running up the outsides of each end of the line of impact areas. They were so scared that when Wilkerson was yelling at them that they were
being herded they didn’t even listen. They just kept right on running. Anybody that ran to the sides was shot.
It took Wilkerson a while to move, but even he decided the healthy thing to do was get moving and boy did he. When Randy’s teams reached the top of the hill everyone cut loose on the retreating enemy. When they did, all of them either threw down their weapons or died. It was all over rather quickly. As they stood there with their hands on the tops of their heads they waited for orders from the now advancing teams. All of them were ordered to
‘back up’ away from the weapons on the ground and to interlock their fingers on their heads as well. Every thing was going just fine until Zach arrived. Wilkerson saw him and charged him at full speed. He wasn’t carrying any weapons except for a hand grenade and that was still in the pouch. Zach yelled to Greg "I do believe he remembers me."
Zach side stepped and then gave him a stepping side kick in the floating ribs. Anyone who was nearby could tell they had snapped. He got up and headed for Zach again. Zach looked at him and yelled "Stoitye!" but he kept on coming. As soon as Wilkerson got to him Zach stepped into him and blocked a right punch with his left forearm and punched the ends of the ribs near the solar plexus rotating the sharp broken ends into his lung. He stopped
immediately and looked at Zach, his twisted face was filled with hatred. Zach saw him reach for the grenade and started running from him "Uh! You don’t want to do that."
Zach only got only about fifteen feet away when Wilkerson pulled the pin and started to throw the grenade. Booooom! That was Wilkerson’s last act in life and the last thing Zach said all that day.

Zach landed face first in the dirt. Judgement and Mercy were between his prone form and the rest of the group in moments. Mercy straddled him and Judgement patrolled back in forth between the group and Zach. As two corpsmen rushed over he let out a roar that froze them in their tracks. His tail was in the air and the hackles on his back were raised. His tail looked like it held a static charge strong enough to fry them if they got
too close. His one and a half inch fangs were bared for all to see. Mercy was straddling Zach but mimicking everything that Judgement did. Greg approached and looked at Judgement and Mercy then he looked past them at Zach "They need to help Zach. You must let them through or he will die." Zach seemed to return from the depths of the abyss his mind had plummeted to. He gently touched Mercy’s huge foot patting it gently. The two huge wolves moved to
the side and allowed them in to help him.
They quickly stopped the flow of blood and loaded him on a stretcher . Judgement and Mercy went with them, one on each side as he was moved to his ship. Greg had to go with them as they did trust him quite a bit. They went to their respective locations on the ship and Zach ordered the ship to take him back to the base. The corpsmen went with him on the ship, Greg had to remain behind.
Wilkersons men had never seen how fast these ships could move so they were a little surprised as the ship retracted it’s landing gear, slammed the door and disappeared in a matter of two seconds. Since the trip was such a long one distance wise, the ship shot straight up and did a right angle turn just outside the stratosphere. It then descended straight down on the base a few seconds later after another right angle turn. The huge ship popped
through the door like a bubble through a sieve and landed very quickly with the door open. The corpsmen rushed Zach out to the hospital post haste.
Zach came to for a moment, the two wolves were trotting alongside and all he could hear was the familiar sound of boots pounding along on the steel grating below them. He looked up and smiled as they rushed him into the operating room "Get Khrys somebody please." The Doctors were a little busy so one of the corpsmen went instead. He didn’t get very far, Khrys met him just out side the door and then rushed in. Zach looked over at her smiled
"Other than this I have had a good day. How about you dear?" and then he passed out.

As soon as the ship had left one of the traitors asked Greg "What are you going to do with Wilkersons remains, or are you even civilized enough to have considered that?" Greg didn’t say a single word and was totally expressionless he just took five steps forward, jumped and kicked the man right in the forehead knocking him right on his back unconscious. The large ships had arrived and the traitors were ordered to pile everything in
a mound. As soon as that was done a ship picked it all up with a tractor beam and dropped it on the hill where they had just run from. The traitors were all ordered into cargo areas of the ships and were hauled off to the camps they had fled the day before. They were to be put on trial by the locals for crimes against humanity.
Greg got a bucket of water and threw it on the traitors face to wake him up. When he came around Greg looked down at him and with rancor said "Get up you moron and take the remains of your beloved commander over the hill and just dump them right there! You might need to use this bucket to save you extra trips however!" The now crushed and beaten man did as he was told. When he was through he was cuffed and taken to Greg's waiting ship. As the
ship lifted off of the ground it was suddenly joined by many ships. All of them congregated over the hill at a good distance in the air.
As the traitor watched lasers began to play back and forth across the hill slowly turning it into a thick sheet of glass. After a while it was totally smoothed and featureless. Greg looked over at him "I think you guys need a monument don’t you?" The mans expression brightened a bit "We would appreciate that." Greg looked back at him marveling at the stupidity of his answer "I bet you would." Greg looked down and typed something and hit a key
then looked at the traitor. The lasers on Greg’s ship began to play back and forth across the hill.

TRAITORS ROCK
ANSWERING THE CALL TO HATRED
PHILOSOPHY THAT WAS A CROCK
BY A FOOL THEY WERE LED
IN THE PAST THEY TOOK NO STOCK
DARKNESS TO DARKNESS
FLIGHT TO PLIGHT
STARKNESS TO STARKNESS
LIGHT REMOVED THE BLIGHT
THOSE OF THE FUTURE
REMEMBER THIS MONUMENT
IN THIS THERE IS A FACT
STUPID ACTS ARE BORN
IN THE HEAT OF THE MOMENT
WHEN YOU ARE ABOUT TO ACT
CONSIDER THE ROAD YOU TRAVEL
WHERE WILL IT ULTIMATELY LEAD
THEN YOUR LIFE WONT UNRAVEL
AND NO ONE HAS TO BLEED

Greg looked over at the traitor and smiled "I think that about sums it up!" The ship lifted away from the glowing and smoldering hill and disappeared over the hill on the short jump to the prison camp. As soon as he dropped the guy off he headed back to the base to see how Zach was doing.

"BP..... thready"
"Pulse..... 87"
"Respiration..... shallow, but steady"

She stood outside of the swinging doors of the surgical center, watching and listening. Something was verra wrong within and no matter how many reassuring looks the doctors and nurses passed her way, Khrys could *feel* that Zach was leaving her. His presence in her mind was lessening with each moment and she couldn't do anything about it...... they wouldn't let her inside. She couldn't touch him, and if she couldn't touch him she couldn't
heal him.

"We're loosing him......"
"Get the paddles......"
"Clear........!"

His body jumped from the surface of the operating table. She could feel his spirit jump within her as well. Sobbing she watched in horror as all the monitors flatlined....... "Noooo.........." In total disregard for the others around her and the rules of theirs that caused her husband to die, she forcably pushed her way into the room. Moving quickly before she could be stopped, Khrys ran to the table. Before even touching him, her hands
were shimmering with the soft blue radiant light that was her healing energy. Reaching to lay her hands on his temples, she murmered a soft prayer. "Kaewynn... Lady... Please let me not be too late....." A long and fearful moment later a lone chirp came from one of the monitors.... and then another.... He was still in there, waiting to be healed.

A hush fell through the operating room. No one disturbed her at her work. The doctors and nurses watched her, awe stricken by the sheer power of what they were seeing.....the power of the Goddess working through her.

"Khrys?" She looked into warm hazel eyes, full of life and love, and began to weep openly. "Zach......."

Smiling now, tears of relief still flowing freely down her cheeks, Khrys leaned over and kissed him deeply. "Goddess, Zach. I was terrified that I had lost you. " He smiled and chuckled weakly up at her, brushing away the tears with one hand. "Shhhhh. I told you I would be alright. It would take more than a little thing like Death to keep me from being with you. I Love You."

"And I You..........."
