A note to Girvin's desk about the tourney
From: karnafexx@aol.com (Karnafexx)

::A note written on a Dead Nicholas bar napkin scrawled in red crayola, appears on Brians desk::
Hey buster,
I certainly hope ya' didn't put money down on the five ya' picked ta' win at the tourney or yer gonna be a very poor man by tomorrow night. I'm puttin' a load down on myself with the local bookies after readin' yer thoughts in the warlords standin's. Those kids ya' picked (Aside from Kal) couldn't gather the combined force ta' pick their noses, let alone win a tournament. I've won twice as many myself than any of em and I'm rarin' ta'
make it the big 3.
So put on yer best dress and show up and watch the carnage, I'm about ta' scratch the unreachable itch.
Loves and cuddles,
Billy-boy

::Billy stormed around the Dead Nicholas tap room, ranting and raving::
What do ya' mean they dropped the note on Girvin's desk?! I don't think he even HAS a desk anymore. Nick was the one that was supposed ta' get that....
::Billy shook his head and decided not to mention the mistake was his and not the messengers::

::looking up from the plies of reinstatement requests, name changes and complaints over missed wins, Nick spots the bedraggled messenger slinking in.His proverbial tail between his legs. The outstretched hand still trembling from the tongue lashing of the braggart bearing the message intended for himself. After a moments perusal he chuckles and pens a short response:: Lord Karnafexx, although your record preceeds you and thy talent within
the ring is without question, I can not help but believe the upstarts you refer to are going to mop the ring with you and quite several of the :searches for the right word:: Let us say , Geriatric set of the sport. Should you be fortunate enough to survive the first round I will then be happy to discuss a wager worth our mutual time.
With regards,

"since I got to read it anyway, I may as well give Billy a thrill."
Actually Billy, my money is on you to show up late, just like last year. I also have a few pounds out on at least one long standing Warlord to make a huge sceen before the Semi-final round. I also have good money on someone telling Var that some Warlord cheated.
All in all I think these to be safe bets. ::grins as he rights::
As far as Nych's predictions all I want is ring 13. If I ever to get Warlord, that's the ring I *fought* for in the Rules Congress and its the ring I want.
I'm not saying it's mine just the one I want.
A guy must have his dreams, no?
No longer Rankings guy nor a DoS caller,
~Brian "I'm only a bleedin' Master at Arms not a former Overlord" Girvin
((Fast note: Good luck to all. Since Brian's not a warlord, I can't participate and since I had to stop being an RDI I can't call. Everyone HAVE FUN!!))

<I don't know how you fared in round two>
Well, Nick, he beat me, after I came back from 1-3 to go up 4-3 before he took it right from me. I still ain't out of it, but I'd put my money on Billy any day. I'd give a tip on how to beat Billy...but I'd like to keep my body in one piece before the end of the tourney :).
See y'all tonite. May the best 5 duelers walk away Barons (should they choose).

Fellow Duelers,
Unfortunatetly I was detained and waylaid from ever reaching the Arena. I am having the matter investigated to see what type of conspricy was at work to keep me from making it to the Tournement. ((Someone was punting me everytime I came online.)) As far as this nonesense about "Geriatic" duelers getting thier proverbly arses mopped in the rings by these so called "upstarts", I am sure it was one of these so called "upstarts" that is the
culprit behind keeping me from the Tourney. It appears someone was afraid of this "Geriatic" dueler in making a showing based on my past preformance in a Warlord's Tournement. All I can say is that I am severely disappointed and annoyed at these turn of events directed towards me. This Geriatic dueler is going to come after any new "upstart" dueler who happens to win a Baron's ring.
I am not saying I would have been guarentteed a prize in this Warlord's Tourney, but with 6 prizes I figured I had a pretty darn good chance like anyone else worth thier weight in dueling. I have won a Tourney before to become a Baron of DoS. With the brand of new school dueling I have seen only recently in my return, I am not at all impressed by these new "upstarts". Not in attitude, not in respect, not in honor, and yes, not even in
skill. I am incensed by RDI Reiver's words about "Geriatic" duelers, and believe, your about to see what this old "Lizard" can do. You pissed off the draconian, and someone tried to keep the draconian away. I hope that is the last two mistakes that are made towards me and my passion for dueling.
Honor to thyself,

::reads of the rightful anger of the former Baron and wonders how the private letters between the ranks keeper and the warlord BRK ended up plastered for all the read. Knows full well Baphe was not singled out as the doors of the arena and the annex were in need of new hinges after the hoodlums repeatedly attacked everyone in the rooms last night.
