Kinda Sorta Leaving (Steve)

To anyone who really cares, which is probably next to no one,
Let me say a few things here before I get to the point (Which you can probably guess at due to the title). In the past week, including the Warlord's tournament, I have won 2 duels. I've lost around 8. And no one I've dueled (well, at least not the 2 people I beat) was up there as receiving prizes in the tourney. Before last week, I was dueling only mediocrily (is that a word, really?), 50/50 or worse, well below my percentage of 65% (which was
what it was mid-way through the cycle), which lowered it down to about 60%. Were there another weeks of rankings, before the tourney, I would have slipped to near 50%. Maybe I've hit the bottom, maybe I haven't.
But what I do have is tons and tons of records of duels, that I've kept keeping to maybe someday look over when I get the time. I believe that now, since I've been dueling so horridly, is a good time to take a month or two or more off from dueling, to both rest and look over these records. I might stop by occasionally, but that really depends on a lot of things.

I think I was a Baron once...could I really be this bad?

Steve,
I have a winning percentage of about 43. I have lost two tourneys, both I could have won a prize if I remained for one or two rounds more. I have never owned a baronial ring. I have issues 3 challenges; one I lost the other two were nulled. Am I bad?
I don't mean to sound like sour grapes, but just realize that it could be worse.

Yeah Steve, what Var said.
Lets see if this will make you better. I've been here for a....very long time (I say five years, but Slothie keeps saying that that must be wrong ::shrug:: It's close enough), and I've been a Commoner up until a short while ago. Now I'm back down to Swordswoman...again. I've never been a Baroness before, I've never been a Warlady before. Heck, I've never even been a Grand Mistress before!
Take your break if you must, but don't think so lowly of your skills. It could be worse.

Steve,
Every person has a slump eventually, some are just longer and worse. I am sure if you stay and keep up the hard work that you will keep getting better and better and jump out of the nasty slump. If you go, then don't stay away too long. I expect to see you around.
Take care of yourself.

Too many of you care, it seems.
Did I ever say that I was leving because I was in a slump? Kinda. That was the motivation behind doing it *now* opposed to later. Leaving on a low note is always bad, but it makes sure that I don't leave before reaching the peak. Anyways, I have other things to do. I was thinking about leaving after the WL tourney when it was announced should I not take a prize, my dueling outside of that made the difference.
Perhaps I'll be back in two months, as was the duration of my last hiatus from the rings. But I guarantee you that I will be back in a very limited capacity before that. When will I return to my normal rate of dueling? I wouldn't know.
To set things clear:
1) I am not retiring. I am merely announcing that I will no longer be in the arena as often as I am now. How often I'll come is not set in stone.
2) I am not doing this *only* because of my slump. Stop focusing on that. That was only the final deciding factor.
Oh, and thanks in a limited manner to those who care.

Steve,
1. Take a whole cycle off, it's well worth the abscence. Just make sure you don't come back *too* soon and ruin it for yourself. No matter what these people say, time away from the duels, during good or bad slumps, is the best thing in the world for a person. Don't kill the love of the duel, just take a vaca.
2. My winnin' percentage is way down from what it used ta' be. There was a time I was duelin' in the upper %80, then they brought in the warlord stats and I dropped off duelin'. I've been around the %33 mark at times too. I've also gone six or seven duels without a win and fifteen or sixteen without a loss. It's always a rollercoaster and it'll never change.
3.Two people have seemed to beat me to a letter I was about to post so I'm going to wait on it myself and see if the summer is any better. That was my last official tourney though. I won't be in another one for at least another year....but that letter will be posted soon.

Steve, take Karnafexx's words seriously... I went on vacation fer about a week, came back, and I dueled my best that I ever had in a LONG time... It put me up to Warlord in 2 weeks from commoner. Take as much time off as you need, it'll do you good, even if it's an entire cycle.
