It's so refreshing to see such incredibly naive people around the Arena, isn't it? Maybe con artists can still find a few good targets after all.

By the way, Ace, I've got some farmland to sell. Nice stuff, very cheap too. Interested? I promise a great deal.

Karye,

Plain and simple...your smart mouth is just as bad as Ace's personality. Put a sock in it.

Iain,

Was that really nessecary? Say it to his face and keep that trash off the boards.

::Chuckles, writing::
Hey, Iain,
Maybe we should leave him be. He would make a great team captain for a second Short Swords team.
I haven't come up with any good names yet, though. Late Bloomers? Wannabe Gods? I don't know; still thinking.

However, there is a point. Ace may be right, regarding Rand not being able to make it, and I believe in Rand, for he is a friend of mine. I'm sure if Karye knew Rand, she would feel the same way, though I'm not speaking for anyone but me here. I'm just stating speculation.
If Rand is telling the truth (which I'm sure he is), then he lost the baronial rank, and this situation passes by. If Rand is lying, then it's his conscience, which will (again, I speculate) bring him to finally fess up. At this point, I can't imagine many who will let him remain baron for long, and many will even lose faith in him, as a friend.

Ace, you have hammered a nail in a fence, and it seems you don't plan on removing the misplaced nail. The more you put up, the quicker the fence will fall down. Whatever's on the other side won't be sitting there much longer. Take a few nails out before things start catching up to you.
Respectfully,
Var Medici-Giovanni

Fala,
You wrote a while ago
>Jak, Tom... look past Ace's personality and listen to what he is saying. Karye accused Darkness of being a liar. I'm sorry but for someone to just post publicy with no proof that someone is a liar is pretty low and Ace is trying to defend Darkness. Ask yourself if you would do the same before you start bashing someone.<
Take a moment to stop listening to what he's saying, and look at what's meant behind what he's saying. His words make sense, but behind many, is a degree of maliciousness and disrespect.
We all know the disagreements Adonai and I have, but was it really necessary for Ace to say he "beat up Adonai" when he spoke up against him? It wasn't to prove a point, I believe; I think he was just trying to make us shudder, which has failed miserably.
If someone shows disrespect, give it right back at them, to let them see how it feels. I was honestly thinking the same about Ace, as to what Iain said. However, I can think of a name or two that would call me a hypocrite, because I always preach to do things honorably. There are certain ways to handle certain people, Fala.

As I stated before: It's Rand's conscience that will tell us. If I'm wrong about him, I'll admit it, as I have in the past. If I'm right about him, then I'll continue being his friend and trusting in him. Sometimes I need to "put a sock in it" too, but when I don't, I feel like I'm condining something I disapprove of.
Some may think I'm a whiner, I don't know. I do know, though, that I'm darn proud to stand by my morals, and not let them bend. I'm also darn proud of many other things, my family above all others.
A few more facts... Just something to think about.
Respectfully,
Var Medici-Giovanni

You're right Tom. However, there are some, like me, who want to defend the honor of their friends.
... and there are others, who thoroughly enjoy this, for reasons I won't disclose. These reasons are obvious, though, and it makes me sick.

Thank you Brian for supporting my idea.

There has indeed been a resolution to the fate of teh 11th. As I understand it, Darkness is no longer the holder of the title. Tom will face a Baron from the council to face off for teh prize, then should Tom lose, I will face that Baron after. Should I lose, teh title goes to the Warlords tourney.

If I have misspoken, then I hope I will be corrected by the Council or Helix.

To my knowledge as a member of the council, this is correct.

The commoner peruses the ancient cork board, pausing before the G-Man's and the Nameless Baron's missives. A smile quirks at her lips as she reads the expected and, to her mind, the proper disposition of the Eleventh Ring. She was quite certain that neither the Warlord Tom Evasion nor the Warlord G'nort Espelande G'neesmacher Dragoon Talanador had challenged the Baron Darkness unmindful of the seriousness of their pursuit nor wished
to obtain the ring without drawing blade. She is also quite certain the former holder of the Eleventh Ring, the demon Darkness, intended no deliberate disrespect to the ring nor deliberate slight to the challenging warlords.

The commoner quirks a smile, for, as she peruses the rules of engagement, it would seem, as is right and proper, the Barons of the Council and none other than those Barons and the Overlord have come to decision. The commoner glances to the south banner wall, her hope that the future of the Eleventh Ring shall be one of honor and not infamy. She vanishes in a soft azure shimmer to enjoy the day with her husband and children.

Rhi looked over notes tacked up on the old cork and wondered who was teaching the grownups their manners and sighed.

She walked off muttering about how some grown ups should practice what they preach when telling others not to behave rudely or like children. "Lil kids.. my butt.. how cans a lil kid learns manner from growed up people when da growed up people dons't haves dem."

She puts up her note:

Dear Sirs and Ladies and whoever is saying some people act like lil kids havin' temper tanfrums!!

I am a lil kid.. No 'fence, but, Rhi gets 'set when I sees a growed up people telling a 'nudder one dey acts like a lil kid being bad. Well.. dah little kids learns from what you teaches by 'xample..

Mr. Var? Has your son seen what's you yells at people? Him would not tink dat was nice and I doesn't tink you wants him to talks to people dat way.

Slainie's poppa cans be a loyal, ren'gade, or neufral Baron and he will still be him. Him gots 'pinions and will tell everybody.. but da picking does not matter. Him still friends wit' people likes Mr. Hamish and dah OverLord, 'gardless of hims picking one a dem three tings. What matters is dat him duels by dah rules and stuff.. and him does dat.

As to dah Ace, man, Rhi dons't know him, but him cans't be on Short Swords and dat was kinda an insult to da kids dat work hard to show we can duel good and wif honor and stuff.
