5 year anniversary.

Five years ago yesterday, the 9th of June, I first stepped into the rings of DoS. It was the Second Ring and my opponent was Overlord Xenograg, and I won. From that day on he was my Kensai, because he understood the nature and beauty of the duels. Since then I have always felt that the Arena of Swords is more then just a sport with a community atmosphere, but rather for those of us who live the by the
warrior's code of life and philosophy, a devine calling.

In a society that we exsist with here on RhyDin, sometimes strength of arms is the best means of survival, but not neccessarily the only or best means. The Arena of Swords alllows us to keep the focus of combat training sharp without having to actually permentantly harm someone. Well maybe emoitionally when you shut them out in 5 rounds. ::slight grin to himself::

I have always hated the politics of the rings though they are a reality that will never abate. My views of honor may not be the right ones or held popular by a majority of people, but I think everyone is entitled to make a show of thier own. We can all learn from each other and by watching the success of others and how they attained that. The important thing to remember is just have fun and that when the matter of honor comes, only you have to
face your maker when you pass on from this life. As my Kensai Xenograg always used to sayd, "Let your blade speak for you."

My blade may be big and foreboding but it carries a simple subtle message. You can all be successes in the rings without having a bunch of WoLs, or won a bunch of titles, or learned from such an' such an' ranked as such and such. I hope that I can do for others that my Kensai did for me without teaching specifically one or several students.

I look forward to crossing blades with my comrades for another 5 years and more! Salute!

Honor to thyself, Respect to others,

Baphelocutis est Lathadoscia

Laird Baphelocutis est Lathadoscia
My heart felt congratulations on your tenure,as well as my hope for your continued enjoyment of the sport. May you find the rings as pleasureable as the first time you set foot in them.
Repectfully,
