::Morte sits at her vanity, the comb slidin thru her long blood red hair. she winks jauntily at herself as she sprays a new perfume on, the skirts o' her emerald green dress swirling sbout her. If the real Daemon were here he would wish Adonai the best of luck. ((slips away from his SL long enough to do so))

Adonai,
As a close friend and one time student you know my blade stands by you in whatever you chose to do. ((even if I have to commit a Storyline faux pas to do it)) Goodluck in your challenge.

Dalamar,
At best you are a casual acquaintance (at best), still I will say duel well and with honor.

To all who would question and call out Adonai's reasoning. Stick a sock in it. I know Adonai very well. Hell, we practically walked through the doors of the Arena on the same day. Those that would say this was his plan all along, that his deceit has now been unvieled, where do you get off? Your information is about as accurate as the 11o'clock weather. Adonai asked for a challenge and instead of just cheering him on or cheering on
Dal, you sling accusations. Only one person knows why Adonai does anything. . .news flash: it's none of you or is it me.
As for Dal, well I never cared for your politics as I believe that Clone#17 said it best, the arena is not a Popularity contest my votes for him, my votes for her. I am outraged by your request to Adonai to abandon his ring should he lose to you. At the same time, I am pleased to see that should he prove victorious you shall vacate the ring. You want to know why, because that paints a clear picture of the type of person you are.
To those people shocked by my words, I know some of my friends are friends with Dal. It is not always possible that we all like each others friends. I have friends that Adonai can't stand, but he accepts that. If you would no longer consider yourself my friend because I've chosen to defend Adonai in this, kindly send me a missive, and my friend you will no longer be.

Though I be but a humble Grandmaster, I believe that Baron Uziel has every right to challenge for Overlordship. Though I know him not, I fully support his bid.

Warlord Daemon,

I must confess to being nothing less than shocked by your apparent need to throw insults at and berate me. Have I once in any of these debates been so brash as to insult yourself or any other member of the community? I think not, and, if by some chance it appeared so, I assure you I did not mean to.
My counter-challenge to Adonai was, as is his challenge, in the spirit of competition. Considering the situation, Adonai has nothing to lose and everything to gain because he requires no "peer wins" to challenge me. Therefore, I find it only fair after contemplating the situation that I atleast issue a counter-challenge so that he and the community know my stance on the situation. If he does not wish to accept, then that is the end of it.
Now, as regards to my statement of abandoning the ring. Exactly what person am I? I do not mean to put you on the spot, but you will forgive me if I say that I do not need to take such comments from you if meant badly. Know that when I feel there is adequate basis for anger or hatred, I have always been more than willing to let the resulting insults slide off rather than respond with more needless rantings, but this time I think you are merely
taking the brunt of others angry words out on me. If so, I find that repulsive; if not, then I apologize.

dismayed,
Lord Dalamar Ar'Daumon

::Having expected something along these lines in the past few weeks, she feels the need to post::

People speak of honor, integrity and loyalty. Long have I held the belief that when someone claims fealty to a person they should stand by that unless they are somehow forced to alter their stance. Brother Adonai chose to become renegade for his own reasons and this was acceptable. Now however, he challenges my Lord Dalamar for "The hell of it."
Unlike some, I cannot see battling not only a friend, but the overlord, for "the hell of it."
Some of the, and excuse my language, "less intelligent" people in the arena say that honor and integrity have no real place in a challenge for higher rank. I say these people are utter fools. Many complain about the decay of the sport yet some of these people are the same who cry foul when Adonai's morals are brought into light. *Without some kind of honor, you, me and the rest of us are nothing more than barbarians seeking the next plunder.*(I
beg the pardon of any barbarians in our community). I fail to see how some people will never realize this.
Who am I to speak thus? I am noone to most, enemy to few and friend to even fewer. However, I have been here for a long time and I have seen it all. This challenge is nothing new and the outcome will be the same no matter who wins. I have seen it all truly but that doesn't mean that I do not occasionally get sickened and shocked by the pure need for greed some people possess.
For the mere fact that Adonai promised never to stand against Dalamar but now turns his sword upon him should raise a few questions. I sincerely hope that my Lord Dalamar seeks a Warlord champion capable of defeating Adonia and taking his ring from him. Insanity and baroncy do not a stable pair make.

Lastly, it is indeed Adonai's right to challege.

Just because it is someones right to do something does not make it *right* to do so.

May the fates guide Dalamar!

Adeena Maeax,
The Red Zealot,
Baroness.

I am reminded of Ecore going Renegade from Loyal on Athlstan to then challenge him for the Overlord promptly. I think we all remember what happened to him and how he was treated for apparently the "dishonor:" Atleast Ecore didn't ask for challenges, or say his reasons were out of boredom, that he still backed the Overlord, or simply for the challenge of it all. Ecore came right out and said why he was
challenging becuase of actions he felt then Overlord Athlstan did were wrong. While Ecore was probably a complete nutcase, though I bregudge him some minor respect for some things, he didn't rationalize his actions to insanity or boredom. I am for a balance in the multiverse and I forsee much chaos to Baron Adonai's actions.

Unfortunatetly with my view on balance I think it is time for change as well in the DoS. Nothing personal against Overlord Dalamar, but he has been Overlord for too long and the arena has become stagnant it appears. It would be nice to have some fresh blood in the throne, as well as more younger duelers who have proven themselves with skill and consistentcy of attitude in and out of the rings to be Barons. There is alot of old bad blood among
alot of duelers in the rings and perhaps that is what clouds alot of the actual events going on. The shadows of the past.

Still it is Adonai's right to challenge by the rules and by his personal perogative. Any man who can't stand by his own actions and deeds with the words he spews is not much of a man. Regardless of what he says, it is his right and the fate of the future of DoS is in Dalamar and Adonai's hands. Destiny will prevail or fail for either and we can do not much and sit and watch. When it is done it will be someone else's turn against whoever the
victor is for whatever reasons. And that is all it boils down too. It's the pattern of DoS, someone is always gunning for someone else becuase of "honor", while at times the method is not always desirable, it is the heart and soul of the spirit of the rings which keep our blades sharp.

Luck to both, and all others who seek glory and fame or to defend that which they have earned or belive.

Honor to thyself, Respect to others,

Baphelocutis est Lathadoscia

There is an awful lot of talk about "honor" and "dishonor" by all sides in this argument. I have posted my thoughts on the subject several times, and I had been reading it all for some time before I posted anything. As near as I can tell, everyone on both sides is in the wrong.
Perhaps Uziel's behavior has been erratic. Maybe he has been flase to his own words, maybe he has not. But at the same time, if he is truly dishonored, the only people dishonored by attacking him are the attackers. By the same token, it is just as wrong for him to attack others.
However, as to this choice of challenging the Overlord, this is his perogative. We can argue whether it is right or wrong all we want, but that won't stop him from feeling the way he does. We can demand for the Overlord to choose a champion if we wish, but if he wishes to deal with this personally then we will be unable to convince him.
Finally, the reason for the Arena and the DoS is for honorable combat, face to face and blade to blade. Quite frankly, all other matters aside, I can see nothing more honorable than to test one's self against the greatest fighter in the Arena. It is an act of courage, and a worthy test of one's self. For everyone to automatically assume that this implies anything further, be it disloyalty, dishonor, or arrogance, is foolish. I agree with the
worthy Overlord in the sense that the contest would mean more if Uziel was willing to retire his ring if defeated, or (my personal opinion) to return to his loyal status if defeated. However, this is his choice. His honor is his OWN to shepherd, not ours. We would do best to see to our own honor, and let both the Baron and the Overlord see to their own.
If I have offended anyone, I apologize for the offense, not the opinion.

Adeena Maeax, Baroness of the sixth baronial ring,
Though I do agree with many things you say, I have a couple questions that come to mind.
I have dueled for a little over 15 months, and I have issued four challenges, invluding this recent one against Baron Leto Covington. I think it's natural that one would like to achieve a higher rank, and I have been pursuing to achieve baronial rank. I truly don't think this is greed. Of course, I don't wish to go for overlord, though I would go for it if I don't agree with the overlord's actions, just as I can safely assume people would
challenge me because they don't like me, they don't agree with me, or whatever reason. Naturally, I would not want someone to challenge me for the heck of it, though I will accept it is their right.
I don't know if my circumstances are what you were referring to, but if you were, I was just stating my case. This is the same case, I believe, that many other warlords share when they challenge; the aspirations of becoming a baron.
I hope my words make sense.

Respectfully,
Var Medici-Giovanni

The ever clever Daemon penned...
< To all who would question and call out Adonai's reasoning. Stick a sock in it. I know Adonai very well. Hell, we practically walked through the doors of the Arena on the same day. My dear, single minded man, I doubt that any of us care whether dear Adonai chooses to gnaw upon his forearm or batter a small child. It doesn't concern us; we allow him to play in his perceived sandlot at his will. However...once his foolishness impacts upon us, we must make a stand. Fool.
