::with the slightest of staggers she moves to the boards and posts the list of awards presented the night before::
Last night, at the TDL 515 Season party, a number of awards were given out. First of all, we'd like to thank everyone who attended and took part in the fun, and thanks to everyone who dueled last season and answered the various polls, as we wouldn't have been able to do this without you all. And now, on to the list!
Congrats to everyone!!
In appreciation for their hard work and dedication last season, all sanctioned callers for the TDL received a Silver TDL Clipboard to help make next season's paperwork more handy, and a whip, in case they ever call for Gnort or Topaz. =)
For having the longest duel of the season, both Gnort and Topaz were gifted with gold watches so they might know just how long they've been dancing in the future. ;)
The Short Swords won several awards last night; two for Favorite Arena, and the Caller's Choice Favorite Team award. The items presented to these wonderful kids were two banners in SHS colors ( Black, white, and gold. ), one saying "Caller's Choice, Favorite Team", the other "Caller's Choice, Favorite Arena". Also, they received a golden treehouse trophy for display in their arena for winning the most votes from the general poll in the "Favorite
Arena" category.
Team Loincloth and Desperate Not Serious both tied for second in the general poll's "Favorite Arena" category and those teams also received golden treehouse trophies to display in their Arenas.
Desperate Not Serious was the winner of their own Caller's Choice award, as they won for "Most Spirited Team". As the winners, they received a dark purple banner with the words "Caller's Choice, Most Spirited Team" written in silver, for display in their Arena.
Goon took the last of the four Caller's Choice awards last night, taking the title of Favorite Captain. As with the other Caller's Choice awards, he got a banner done in lovely black and red to display, proclaiming him the callers' favorite.
Goon also got another award last night. . . that of the sexiest dueler that didn't quite fit into the "dude" or "babe" category. In recognition of that, he was gifted with a cute pair of black and red thongs.
As for the sexiest dudes, it really doesn't come as a total surprise that Gnort walked away with his own shadow gray and dark blue thongs, taking first place. Athlstan came in second, and for that receives his own pair, but in his team colors of red and yellow.
As for the sexiest babe, Banda took this category, with Kaprielle placing second. Both received their own bikinis as their prize.
Next, the award for "People's Choice, MVP" was selected. It should come as no surprise that Red Favre won this award, and on her behalf, Kalamere accepted the Golden Wench Dueling Statue, as she was unable to attend.
Nearing the end, two awards were given out for Special Achievement during the 515 season. First, Jonalyn was given this award because of all the hard work she put into the season, helping her team and just having fun. Among her credits are the dancing DNS mugs, as well as her famous food duels. =)
The second Special Achievement award was accepted by Kalamere, again on behalf of Red Favre, who went through hell, and still came out on top with DHL, her team not only winning their division, but the regular season conference title as well. Congrats to a truly incredible woman!
Both Jona and Red were given golden wall swords engraved with the word "Intrepid" in recognition of winning the Special Achievement awards.
Our last award was given to the head of it all, Iain MacKenzie. Known as the "Boar's Head" award, he received a mounted boar's head, decorated with the TDL colors, in thanks for running the league, and for putting up with everything, and in general being himself. ;)
Without him, this league wouldn't be where it is today.
Thank you, Iain.
Again, congratulations to everyone on a wonderful season and we'll see you soon!

Nudging Nimmy, Cyggy giggles softly, " I voted for you of course, but Athlstan would have been my first *unbiased* choice."
The gnome merely grumbles, "Foo."
"At least you weren't in Goon's shoes...", teasing as she scurries away.

::Reading, grins, forming a plan to try and convince Goon to wear his prize on their next calling shift in the Outback, thinking that oughta liven things up and create some havoc, then pens a short note::
Congratulations to the TDL winners and tourney participants. Though I was unable to attend due to a last minute occurance, I am glad to see that the night went smoothly and that people (apparently) enjoyed themselves. Hopefully, it'll keep up that way.

The half-elf gypsy wanders past the boards, glancing over the various announcements and posts made during the day. As she moves past Heath, she can't help but chuckle softly at his thoughts, catching them. Stopping, she smiles a bit to him.
"If you'll forgive my intrusion, hon, I couldn't help but hear what you were thinking. . . please, allow me to explain how things were decided.
First of all. . . the party wasn't private. We sent out invites to all the captains to give to their teams. If you didn't know about the party, all we can say to that is we gave yer captain an invite for you. So. . . if you didn't get the invite, you should ask yer captain about it.
As to the awards themselves. . . we only took the results of the general poll votes, and gave awards to those winners. Again, we sent enough questionares to all the captains for everyone to fill out, but some either didn't fill them out, or the captains never gave them to the team members. I honestly don't know *exactly* how many people returned questionares, but I can tell you the whole league did not. I'd haveta ask Rell to see if she has the
numbers on that."
With a soft sigh, she continues.
"All I can say is ask yer captain if there's TDL announcements to be given to you and such. We tried to get as much input for the awards, and to let as many people know about the party, but there's only so much we can do."
