Baron Sartan,

I have challenged before and will challenge many times more. And to that here comes another. Though, this time I do have a reason. My reason to you and all of DoS is I messed up when I voted. The Baron vote for you and Rand way back when, I asked for a rematch, in honor of your skill thinking that would only be fair. The other option was to have Rand's ring taken and Sartan's peers taken. But, to that and some others at that time, I was
befriended. All know of the instance and I still feel shamed upon it. My shame only rest with the Overlord. Your words after that though are the reason I have driven for this challenge. I have been waiting, and well. I am tired of waiting. Let your sword guide way as your mouth. And duel well.

::reading the post by Evan... slowly, his jaw slackens, more and more.. finally, he can tolerate this no further, and he pens out a reply::

This is rather incoherant. Perhaps we should draft a measure that challengers to the Rings should, at the very least, be literate?

Sartan, let me second you!!

Evan:

You might have noticed, however you did not, what I was not directing my missive to you. Don't be so presumptuous.

Literate or not, and believe me, with all the languages my Father taught me to read I -am- quite literate... I still couldn't figure out exactly what Evan was trying to say...
I get the vague sense that Evan is claiming Sartan said or did something unbecoming for a Baron, but I haven't seen anything of the like.

After all, if I had, I would be the one taking him down.

::reads the challenge three times to be sure::

Drake, Perri, I think Evan is saying that Sartans words following his rise to Baron were insulting to the Warlord himself. Although I am not all together certain, I feel this is the jist of it.

As for the duel, good luck Evan

Sartan,

May your blade strike true.

Evan,

Duel your duel, and listen not to these that berate you destructively.

Perrinis,

May your luck hold out.

::Reading the original posting::

From everything I've read, including the history books of the incident, and from the postings where Sartan challenged Rand, this is what I think was said. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Sartan, as many know, earned his ring when he defeated Rand in the challenge. However, the whole situation wasn't that simple.
Rand did not respond to the challenge within one week of issuance. The baron's council was discussing this, and, regardless, Rand and Sartan continued on with the challenge. In this challenge, Rand won. Since the council was still in session, Helix nulled the challenge.
The barons were to decide what was to happen. Would Rand be stripped of the ring and Sartan losing his Peer Wins? Would they rematch? Evan, apparently voted for the rematch, and he seems to regret it now.
Now that Sartan is a baron, and Evan felt insulted by some action, he wants to challenge.
I wish both the best of luck.

Respectfully,
Var Medici-Giovanni

Excuse me.. do you know what he's saying?

Pardon me, sir... but perhaps you could figure out exactly what is meant here?

::groans, posts a quick note::

Evan,

As one who has heard you speak before, I suggest that, in the future, you only write sentences that you would not think silly if they came out of somebody's mouth. This will, in all likelihood, drastically increase our, the community's, ability to understand your motives, feelings, thoughts and such.

Sartan,
I know you to be a great dueler. Hope your blade falls where it scores a win.
Good luck.

::chuckles at the post::

I vote we all chip in a few dollars and then we'll have enough money to get an interpreter to tell us exactly what Evan was trying to say.

Evan,
I would wish you luck, but you don't deserve it from me. It wouldn't help anyways against Sartan.

SunTan,
It's all you. I got your back if you need it, but you have the skill to win anyways, so what am I babbling about?

The angel stands before the board and casts her gaze low. With out warning, she lifts her hands above her head, palms open upward, the full expanse of her wings extended, when suddenly a thunderous crash resounds throughout the DoS community as a blinding bolt of lightning zags across the sky for all to witness.

Left on the board is an apparition that simply reads:

Pointing out ones literacy to ridicule is without honor.
