Wednesday Night DoS

~Ladies and Gentlemen of the Duels,

Effective Wednesday, July 1st, the Duel of Swords will now be open on Wednesday nights in addition to its normal schedule. Next month, the Wednesday calling schedule will increase to more closely match the Thursday through Sunday schedule, but effective Wednesday the Annex will be open from 9pm until 2am, with Alais calling from 9-12 and Gryphn calling from 11-2.

Two notations:

1) These *are* sanctioned duels and the results will be submitted to RDI Golden to be included in the weekly standings.

2) These duels are being held *without* the benefit of QKeeps. We ask that you adhere to the guidelines outlined in the DoS Ethos and call your potential matches in with *one* host. Calling matches in with more than one caller will result in the duel being canceled. Canceled duels will have to re-enter the queue at the bottom of the list (with one caller) and wait until they are once again called to a ring.

I am overjoyed at the increased dueling hours. I do also have some concern about how this change will effect the posted standings. I hope Golden doesn't go nuts tryin to keep up .

Please note that I have advised Golden *not* to kill himself to get the standings up prior to the start of dueling on Wednesday. He will do his best, I'm sure, but there are a lot of shift reports to collect and a lot of information to sift through and compile. At this point, we'd rather have the information complete, correct and posted by the end of Wednesday, than incomplete, incorrect, and posted before dueling starts. As usual, the standings
will be posted before the start of dueling on Thursday (usually late Wednesday night). On Wednesdays, people will just have to go with the flow. :)

If the standings are put up on Thursday, does that mean that the weekend (in terms of rank changes) begins on Thursday or on Wednesday? I mean, if someone makes a higher rank on Sunday evening, does that rank change take affect as of Wednesday's dueling or Thursday's?

From the rules... for clarification :)

Standings
----------------------

Standings will be posted approximately every week. All ranks and fancy maneuvers are retained until new standings are posted.

If you were last ranked as a Commoner, and as of 9pm on Wednesday the new standings aren't yet posted showing your possible new rank of Master at Arms, you need to duel as a Commoner. If the standings are posted at 10pm, you may begin dueling as a Master at Arms at 10pm if that is posted as your confirmed rank.
