::walking by as Lexi proclaims:: Hey now, "ridicule" is honest speech, and having the right to speak is a granted, but if you're going to speak to those who disagree, you must bring the conviction to overcome conflict of words. Do not expect the right to disagree or to joke to be stripped from the citizenry simply so one can babble on.
::Nods firmly, and steps to the board and posts::
Shut up
Evan!

That the best thing you can say to me, Perr? Shut up? Come on, you can fuel the fire better than that. Shut up is not even low. Put some more thought into your insults, and then post it. Maybe I will have a little more fun with that.

Furthermore, Dem...
Many more than the "Gods Above" you reference to know how I claimed my ring. The officiating referee Alais knows, the gathered watchers know, I know, and certainly Adonai knows, as well as perceptive individuals who read the results posting. I defeated the holder of the ring before me, in a convincing and expedient duel, at the risk of sounding vain.
If you insinuate that it was luck or chance that decided the match, then I invite you to try and test my luck...once you have enough "luck" to gain the rank needed to do so.
And if you insinuate that I gained my title through uncrupulous means, then you gain my disgust, as do all the poor losers who have accused so many of this grand sport of such a crime. I, for one, hold the officials of the Duels in highest regard, to treat them with lesser regard would stain my name and ring.
So Dem, put your blade before you mouth, and learn something of skill in the ring before you accuse others above you of lacking it.

Evan.
It was not an insult, nor am I the type to play "low." I'm sorry to dissapoint you if that was your expectation, but I am not here to insult. After all, what sort of example would I be setting to my daughter?
I am here to explain my positions, express my opinions, and defend my repuptation, as well as have an enjoyable time.

Isn't that sweet, Dem... come calling when you're actually a warlord.

::turning to Perri:: Aye, indeed ridicule is a part of tha', but look at some of these writings. People are tearin' each other apart. ::gestures to a few old posts:: Each are tryin' ta impose their beliefs on another an' when one does nae agree, a fight breaks loose. Jus' from a viewer's standpoint tis enough ta make one throw his/her beliefs out the window from gettin' hassled. I can understand tha' people express
their views an' feelin's with a passion, but at times, tis down right violent! ::shakes her head:: Tis probably jus' m'self tha' feels this way.

Dem, being a friend of mine, I wish to say this,
I know you can wield the title of barony with dignity. I truly hope you challenge soon.
Perri, being the baron whom you are, I wish to say this,
To word it simply, I am appalled by your attitude. Yet, you do what you want. Just because we hold the title "loyal" under Dalamar, means that I'll stand by your side. I, in no way, wish to condone such disrespect towards others.
Respectfully,
Var Medici-Giovanni

Perri,
I'm not trying to jump into this argument too, but Var does set forth a good point. Being the Baron that you are, the attitude, at least, is not of respect to your fellow duelers. As for Dem not having skill, well I think that Dem's skill is quite good. I'd like to compare it to my own, but I don't want to give him *that* much credit! ::smiles:: I do compare it to yours, though. Dem may not be a Warlord at the moment, but he was one for
quite a while. If memory serves me correctly, you weren't the greatest dueler that I knew of. But since I came back I see you have risen in rank and done well for yourself, which you should be very proud of. Dem has merely dropped in rank because he is in a slump since he hasn't dueled in about, oh... seven or eight months. I'm sure you could relate to being in a slump, right Perri?
I do consider you both friends, but being that you are a Baron now, I think that you should pratice more in settling disputes by putting your mouth before your blade, instead of vice versa. If you continue to do so, soon enough, your ring will be worn by another whose name may be Dem Cyrax.
Deep thoughts,
