"Well, my friend, you certainly picked a beautiful spot for this ball of yours," Iluen, Queen of the Elendil Elves, said with a sly grin.

Sidartha laughed, raking back sweat-soaked strands of strawberry blonde hair that escaped from the tight braid down her back and adjusted an arrangement of white roses on the table where the drinks and hors d'oeuvres would be served that night. "Very modest of you, Your Majesty," she replied with a grin. The queen had graciously offered the service of her servants for the preparations and had paused in her duties just long enough to make an informal inspection.

The emmense grove, besides the tables and chairs lining the edge of it, was only lightly decorated. It had been decided that the natural atmosphere that the night would bring would work beautifully, especially when lit by the light of the full moon.

For the next several hours, flowers were arranged, tables and chairs were brought in, musicians were settled in and food and drink was prepared. Just as the sun was beginning to set, Sidartha teleported to RhyDin City and placed the portals, glowing a deep blue in the lengthening shadows and then teleported home to bathe, dress and get her hair done.
