I'm not dueling for the ring. The ring is boring. It's the excitement that thrives in the ring, and the thrill that tells you that you are looking death straight in the eye.
And if I do obtain the ring, Nicholas ain't getting it. Gotta kill me first, or challenge me.

To Whom It May Concern:
Since the DoS has appeared to be left at the "mercy" of these oh so gracious 3 callers who've decided to step up and rob all power in the Sport from the waning patients, I doubt this will hold any weight or substance..but hear me out.
I, Daelin Dragonsblade, as Baron and steward of the First Ring of the Duel of Swords REFUSE to recognize any so-called "power" this alliance of 3 callers has over myself or my Ring. If you 3 don't like anything I do with the Ring..it's quite simple..Come And Take It.
It appears this point has been made by Drey, but what right do the 3 of you have to tell us anything? I agree that this duel is wrong, and if I find Drey I may kill him for it for personal reasons, namely my dueling franchise..but that's neither here nor there..you can't just step in and say "Ok..we're in power now so drop everything and do what we say." Not even revolutions are conducted like that..save the Glorious Revolution and neither of you
look like William or Mary of Orange.
On that note, like I said..I refuse to adher to any decrees you make save for the results of a called match and I encourage my fellow Barons and the Overlord to band together as a Council to counter this charade. I'm sure since we've been able to vote on decisions in the past, we're quite capable of doing that now with the help of the Community, and I , as always am ready to lend an ear to any member of the Community who wishes to voice an opinion.
Have a Nice Day.

After substancial research by our legal department, the following conclusion must be the only one logically concluded.
As neither of the duelists in this fight are currently in possesion of the Fifth Ring, this duel should remain wholly and totally outside of any relation to the Duel of Swords and it's official Standings.
If the Blindfold Establishment had contacted the Duel of Swords staff in advance and made arrangements, much like in the case of the Oakenshield Tournament, then perhaps the winner of this duel could be considered an "honorary" Baron for a short period of time. Perhaps even until the next Tournament.
On the related matter of the possibility of the winner of this match refusing to comply with the wishes of the Duel of Swords Staff as to the disposition of the Fifth Ring. The Kitsune Foundation reminds the Staff that it may recover the Ring in the time-honored method used to recover the Rings that have gone "missing" in the past.
In closing, it must be noted that the selection of the "supervisory" personell has always been an internal matter and is not, nor has it ever been, subject to any debate or denial by the patronage.

In regards to this "Challenge"
In my opinion, the Duel of Swords is without legal leadership.
In my opinion, Baron titles can only change hands with a properly issued challenge, and therefore, should Drey win(which is doubtful anyway) he will not be recognized as an official Baron.
Since the leadership is nonexistant in a legal sense, no challenges can be properly laid forth.
Finally,
The Duel of Swords is finished.

I address this letter to Mr. Starke posthumously.
According to my research, the Duel of Swords does not require you or anyone else to give the Fifth Ring back to obtain it.
The Fifth Ring, indeed all the Baronial Rings, belong to the Duel of Swords. The manner of their disposition is clearly written in the Rules of the Sport.
The rightful holder of the Fifth Ring is a duelist known by the title of "The Blindfold Proxy". This individual is known on sight by the current Staff and so therefore should remain the rightful holder of the Fifth Ring.
Given the information gathered so far, it appears that the employers of the rightful Baron of the Fifth have offered/given the Fifth Ring to the winner of a duel to the death.
It is clear that under many instances, a Baronial Ring has been given, loaned or otherwise handed off to persons other than the rightful Holder of said Ring. However, in all such cases, the rightful Holder has remained titled as the Baron of said Ring.
I urge the Duel of Swords Staff to seek the whereabouts of the rightful Baron of the Fifth, though traditionally a period of one Cycle is given when a title holder disappears without challenge.
I further urge the Duel of Swords Staff to completely ignore the outcome of this duel and, if they so choose, to retrieve the Fifth Ring using the time-honored methods available to them.

Ms Virginia Stone,
Tis quite clear that thou art ill informed ast to the ability of the Baronial Rings to recognize their rightful bearers.
Thou art little informed and but display thine ignorance ast well ast thine arrogance in instructing anyone, least of all the Triad in this matter.
I urge all the Barons ast well ast those who wouldst hold this ancient sport in honor to place a bounty on the head of Virginia Stone and any entity associated with the Kitsune Foundation for making threats against the personages of the Blindfold Establishment.
I urge the Barons and those personages who wouldst honor this ancient sport to denounce Ms. Virginia Stone and all entities associated with the Kitsune Foundation as outlaws who present a direct and immediate threat to the individual rights and freedoms of every personage, titled or nae, who wouldst venture nigh these ancient halls.
Further, I offer mine skills in the arcane arts unto any Baron or bearer of a crafted Ring should they so desire and do call upon the true warriors of this ancient sport to lend their considerable skills to thwart any attempt by the Kitsune Foundation or its agents or any other entity that wouldst deign to make any attempt to come into possession of a Baronial Ring without the express consent of its possessor.

Gnort,
It aint finished and it aint over. As long as some of us keep it going it wont die. I intend to be one fo them what keeps it going. What are yer going to do about it? Nothin, maybe post a few of yer missives, but yer aint fought in so long I wonder if yer even know how anymore.
Why not come on down and see if yer can make me change me words? Mayber yer have gotten fat and comforatable from holdin a quill and not a weapon no more. So, what do yer say old man, yer want to take it to the ring or sit back and say yer too important, or I haven't earned the right, or whatever yer wont to say when yer just going to talk?
I have fought most everyone in the DoS and yer just another mouth to me. So old man, come and lets see if yer can still fight.
I still have my honor...do you?

Jona,
I'm curious just to what this Miss Stone woman said that caused you to respond in such a violent manner.
Precisely where did she say incorrect things? And where was the threat made against the personages of the Blindfold Establishment?
I read and reread her message, and saw no threats, especially none by her directly.
What are you reading into this?

Queen Jonalyn, Emperor Lupton;
I am indeed well informed of the ability of the Baronial Rings to recognize their rightful bearers.
I am also well aware, as I am certain that you are, that the rightful bearer of the Fifth Ring is the individual referred to as "The Blindfold Proxy" and not the winner of the recent duel to the death held at The Blindfold Establishment.
The Kitsune Foundation is a wholy benign organization who's only interest in this area is to support the continued operation of the Duels. No threats have been made by myself or any member of the Foundation against any member of the Blindfold Establishment or the Duels themselves.
In closing, the method of retrieval I refer to is the same one used to retrieve the Second Ring when Lord Harvest of Atlantis was found in default of his Ring. In fact this is the method cited by yourselves and others in decrying Mrs. Silvertree's option.
At this time I ask Mr. Favre to seek out the true and rightful holder of the Fifth Ring and return it to that person. If this proves to be impossible, then I hope he will do the right thing and turn the Ring over to the Staff and duel to win it in the proper manner.
Ms. Virginia Stone.

Mistress Stone.
If this Kitsune Foundation ist, ast thee state, a benign organization, may I suggest to thee that this ancient sport hast ne'er in its past hae anna need for any outside organization to meddle in the continuing operation of the sport.
Historically, attempts by outside organizations to interfere with the sport or with the participants hae been met with a call to arms and the eventual demise of the perpetrators. Perhaps, ast a representative of this so called benign organization, thee might consider seeking out some land or universe, unpopulated and unclaimed, and people it with thine faction.
Ast to thine references to the Second Ring and to Lord Harvest, since I am quite sure thee nor anna member of your Foundation wast present during his reign, I may only presume thou mayest perhaps be relying upon the rather sketchy history extant and aire perhaps nae fully cognizant of precisely the manner in which that Ring was returned.

I actually agreed to the duel so I could protect the ring from those who might have won it and done something dishonorable with it, such as selling it or something of the sort.
At the moment, I believe I may need to protect it from some people at the duels right now. So for the time being, the Fifth is going to be kept in my possession. And Ms. Stone, no method you have short of assaulting and taking the ring from me will get it in another's possession.
