::thinks Baphe is quite bloodthirsty, but writes::
On behalf of Baphelocutis and the rest of House Lathadoscia, I would say that never have I known Baphe to be a murderer or criminal in such a way that Lupton implies. I would encourage the Lord Lupton to provide concrete evidence before casting such slanderous aspersions. I back these convictions with my scimitars, if necessary..

::tacks up a short post::
This is in response to the Lady Elle's writings:
What Lupton has done,he has done, and if nobody is in the forgiving mood, then he damn sure won't be forgiven, will he?
He's never done anything overly obnoxious to me, other than be a total horse's end at every opportunity, and since I care next to nothing for him, because of my past encounters with him, I will continue to remain on the "Anti-Lupton" bandwagon for as long as I please, and as long as he continues to open his mouth for everyone to hear, then you can expect the posts you're complaining about in the future, as well.

Baphe,
What I think about Lupton is not the topic, and I won't bother getting into it. I won't even talk about what I think about you, save for the confusion of some words.
There's something you say here that makes me wonder. You said something to the degree of "Maybe they should realize what serving an emperor means." I personally think if one were to lead a group of people, they should take the responsibility to make sure the people know what he/she expects of them. But that's just me.
What bothered me more, was that you told Elle that Lupton is a loose end you want to tie off, as well.
I'm confused, Baphe. You say it was in the past, and you want to end all ties with Lupton. Yet before all of us here, you swear you will make sure Lupton won't hold a ring, and that you'll avenge yourself. I just don't understand your words. Either you break ties with Lupton, or you challenge for his ring. It would be like someone saying, "I'll never drink alchohol again" while drinking some whiskey.
And while we're on the subject of confusion... why are you saying, "respect to others"? Is there some special requirement to fall under the category of "others"? Some of the postings you've written, in my opinion, show lack of respect towards "others".

::simply put::
Lupton never wanted ta be Mr. Popular, I doubt he'll start now. He has his friends and his enemies, I wouldn't worry too much about him cryin' over da Anti-Lupton bandwagon.
Ele, if it is love dat binds ya ta him, i hope its strong enough ta carry ya past any troubles ya have when dat bandwagon comes rollin' over ya. Its never fun ta be on da minority side, but I'm sure as tough as ya are won't be much of a problem fer ya :)

Duelers,
I have a confession which will not shock you at all. This is my fault too, as is everything else. So, in light of some conversations with a few nameless people, there's a new bandwagon to jump on. The "Blame it on Phil Club." Join if you wish. :D

Lords and Ladies... and those who reject such titles.
Upon two occasions, I hast seen the word Honor tied directly to the utilization of weapons in the Arena. In fact, it wert implied that the victor of a duel of arms wouldst automatically be the more honorable.
It ist at this juncture that I do feel I needs must interject. I am but a Bard. I will nae ever raise mine hand to strike another, e'en shouldst a person strike me first. So, thereby, if the honor of mine words weret called to question, and I didst step into one of yonder rings to defend mine words. It ist but a simple fact that even the lowest of warriors wouldst best me, for I wouldst ne'er lay my hand to a blade, much less strike.
Dost that mean, therefor, that I doth have no honor?
Think thee well on this afor thou do reply.
Mikhail Thorgrin, Bard Extra-ordinaire.
A true measure of a man comes from with-in, nay from with-out.
With great power doth come e'en greater responsibility. Thus, I do wish no greater power beyond that to teach and entertain.

Sir Shadowsiv~
Pardon my saying, but you weren't there. Whether it was to have my flesh burned from my body or not, I don't remember exactly (I try not to remember these things), but I do remember threats of physical harm. While I am willing to forgive, as Baph is willing to forgive any of my wrongs in how I handled the situation myself, I don't wish the past to be forgotten or twisted. What we don't learn from the past, we are doomed to repeat.
Please, sir, let this be between Lupton and Baphelocutis themselves. I'm sure Baph can well take care of himself.
And Baph, think on Elijah's wrongs no longer. I'm sure the agony I Sense that he is enduring is enough penance for whatever he might have done.
::turns to look again upon Draco, sighs, and writes:: I'm sure he is sorry for whatever it was that could have angered you so.
::signs the post and walks away, praying that peace will come to all of her Swordbrothers, including E, with whom she felt an affection for beyond that of teacher and student...one that she has yet to understand::

My lady Sidartha,
I most humbly will submit to your request to stay out of this conflict. You are correct that I was not there, and I do not dispute this.....I merely wished to state my conviction that the arena is the place to truly resolve these conflicts.
Respectfully yours,
Shadowsiv, humble GM of DoS and ally to Noble Family Lathadoscia

Baron Var,
I told everyone I was an emperor of an imperium run by a drow elf noble House that expects discipline and loyalty, and that it wasn't some sort of democracy or whatever. The chain of command in my Imperium went from our diety, to the Mistress Arilanna of the House, to me the Emperor of the Realms. From there I dispensed orders to my various Ministers. Those of the House here on RhyDin were trying to make it something it was not and trying to use
public influence to do so as well. And Lupton having his own aspirations to use the power of the House was simply trying to turn it towards his own goals. While I do indeed take responsiblity for judging the character of Lupton incorrectly, he is still the one who took advantage of what I gave him.
On the subject of tieing up loose ends. I said with the others that things were past and I was willing to forgive and let go. And with Lupton I do want to put it all behind me and move on. However, once I have completed my own tasks to mind to tie up those loose ends than it will all be behind me and in the past. I will not harbor on Lupton the remainder of my days. I only seek to pay back that which he has done to myself. I believe under the
circumstances with my own code of honor I follow I am justified in that.
On the subject of "Respect". Lupton is definitly not deserving of my respect in any way shape or form. In general I try to respect those I duel when I am within the rings or simply lounging in the Arenas with my personal interactions with them. Most times here on the boards I do not come across that way becuase I am indeed an intense person who does not bother to waste niceties on diplomacy and trying to butter people up. I tell it how I see it
and to me that is respect in being honest with how you feel rather then sugar coating it so others feel comforted or whatever. I have even told you Baron Var, that why I don't always agree with what you have to say I respect your opinion and respect your right to say what you feel within these rings.
This subject on "honor" and handling things by the blade was not mentioned by you Baron Var, but by some bard I do not remember the name of so I include it here as a general response to all. As Baron Avery already brought up the topic of Honor in which everyone put thier two cents into the overfilling pot of responses of "Honor", I will simply say this. Honor is to each own person what it is and they have to face themselves and thier gods when
the time comes for judgement of thier soul. Of course within a community like this you make friends and enemies usually based on actions and deeds that reflect your honor and how it works with other people's honor. In my humble opnion, the Arena of Swords is a community of warriors who live and die by the blade as does thier careers within the rings, and naturally the heirarchy of this sport is determined by the blade. In fact many disputes within
this combative arena were handled by what is known as a "Duel of Honor". In many traditions of many civilizations of warrior societies disputes were handled by a "Duel of Honor". IMHO again, DoS is a warrior society and community that is founded in its strictures by many of the same tenents. In short this isn't some nice bueorcratic tea party to make out long contracts to settle a dispute. Here in DoS it's history, it's fate, and the way people
suceed or fail is determined by the skill of thier blade. Nothing more and nothing less. I simply seek to have my blade suceed for me when someone else failed me.

M'lady Sidartha,
I beseech you to review your memory more clearly. While I may have been angry and said some things to hurt you or feel for fear of whatever possible actions I might have been willing to take, I would have never harmed you or threatened to harm you. I loved you like a daughter and I loved Lupton like a son, and was once proud to call you of my family Lathadoscia. Lupton is indeed nothing more then a traitorous manipulator who cares for no one or
anything for that matter expect his own personal glory and agenda. You were just confused and in love with such a twisted man and I know couldn't have been of clear thought. Even so, I know for a fact I would never threatened to burn, boil, eat, or whatever the flesh of one I call or have called my family. Even with Lupton I seek to only return the humilation he has given me within my own House and Family.
