"Actually,
I would like to know what the child of Eros and Myst has to do with the views of the New Overlord, Long Wang Lo. Personally, I see no connection."
Indeed, Gnort..this is what I was trying to ask. Of course, no explanation was given.

"Madame, perchance then Mystik an' Eros failed ta carry through with their pronouncement that they wouldst seek thine approval fer their choice 'o a name? Indeed, Madame, were thee nae sought out ast proclaimed, an' dinna grant thine assent, tis mine apology unta thee. Howe'er, if'n thee didst approve, t'would seem thine statement th' thee hae nae anna say be ast false ast thee hae proven thineself to be, Madame."
Aye, they did ask me, and if I remember correctly, I told them exactly how I felt. To wit, that I did not feel I had the right to dictate the name. Still, I don't see what this has to do with the Overlord or his Challenge match.
"Rest assured, Madame, that I didst
'old Lord Dalamar ArD'aumon in highest esteem and wouldst nae wish his name to be so sullied."
I don't see what finding fault in the child's name because of the parent's mistakes solves. Shouldn't we let the child prove his worth of his namesake, rather than casting aspersions on him because of his parents?
"Rest assured also, Madame, that I didst make that known unto both Eros and Mystik De Burgo."
Which is your right. However, what they name their child is *their* right.
"Thee may consider the comment inane, Madame, tis thine right."
I believe it was inane because it has *no* bearing on the discussion at hand.
"Thou shalt pardon me if'n I do consider thine comments made with regard to Long Wang Lo e'en more so."
If you believe that decrying Long's behavior was inane, well, that's your opinion.

Madame Elgarette,
Tis oh so typical of thee to make a statement, "Shouldn't we let the child prove his worth of his namesake, rather than casting aspersions on him because of his parents?" Perchance thou wouldst care to define the so called aspersions cast upon the child?
Tis e'en more amusing thine comment "I don't see what finding fault in the child's name because of the parent's mistakes solves?" Perchance thee hold that the parents hae indeed made a mistake?
Further, Madame, tis highly amusing that thee seem to hold that a parent hae rights, yet thee seem ta hold that an Overlord dinna. Precisely what behavior aire thee declaiming agin wi' regard t' the new Overlord? For in thee hae stated thee hae lain eyes 'pon 'im precisely twice, tis seemin' thee, ast be yuir usual, be leapin' ta' judgement, Madame.
Thee seem t' be declaimin' th' t' new Overlord hae nae been a presence in t' basement, yet wh' th' hae t' do wi' annathin', Ah am at a loss ta' discover. Tis if'n thou art decryin' t' new Overlord fer 'is behavior at t' challenge, tis vastly amusin' thee seem nae t' find anna fault in' t' behavior displayed by t' former Overlord, Magnus Eques.
Tis ast well interestin' th' thee seem t' decry th' t' new Overlord isna acquainted wi' 'is Council, or fer th' matter wi' manna 'o t' community, yet nae such comment didst thou make in similiar instances agin others wh' ast well were nae so acquainted. Tis certes, from thine own comments, thee aire nae acquainted wi' him. Perchance tis a personal vendetta thee hae taken unto thineself agin th' new Overlord? Considerin' thine verra much less th'
cordial treatment 'o Long Wang Lo at t' Warlord Tourney, a man wh' thee hae stated ast bein' nigh unknown t' thee, a man wh' offered thee apology an' wh' nae received such from thee, tis indeed a dichotomy.
Madame, thee hae proven time an' agin th' thine tendancy t' emotional outbursts continues unabated. Perchance thine Goddess hae so instructed thee in thine behavior? Perchance thee hae taken it upon thineself t' crusade agin t' new Overlord?

Jonalyn~
I am still curious as to what the name of a baby has to do with the Overlord or his Challenge match.
And, if you will notice, I never at any time stated that I had no problem with Magnus' behavior in the ring. Perhaps *you* should stop jumping to conclusions.
As for the rest, well...you are the expert at vendettas. You tell me.

My behavior in the ring? Was I supposed to congratulate Long every time he made me bleed? I hadn't realized I was just supposed to stop dueling and bow to him during a duel just to show my respect for a well placed maneuver.

Neither you nor Long even bothered to recognize each other's presence in the ring when the match was over.

Sid,
Thing was, at the time I felt no need to bow to him in any way. Maybe it was the honorable thing to do, but from past events, I would never even consider bowing to the man. I may have if he did so to me, but it was my guess that he wouldn't, and he didn't. And I did thank the official, but perhaps you did not hear it.

>didn't.
That's irrelevant.
Magnus,
You were the title holder. You show him justice. You bow, salute, or whatever no matter who it is. Myself, I congratulate them like a madman. No matter who it is, I enjoy the duel. It's horrible that you can't bow since your opponent didn't. Be the better man, bow. Is it so hard? Is this a tradition as well?
IF you don't like him, who cares? I sure as hell don't. It's irrelevant.
You originally bow in a match right? At the end? Salute? You'd think you would be capable enough to bow in an Overlord's Challenge Match for the Crown.
I may be wrong, but I doubt you were looking for him to bow. I'm disgusted neither of you did, neither were the better man, and I'd rather both of you drown in the warlord ranks. Feh.
Yes, I'm nitpicking - For a good cause!
So sue me.

Yeesh, more bull...
Sid, when yer done holdin' a barons ring and lose it ta someone ya don't like or don't feel a need ta respect ya come tell us how we should act.
Ya got no clue what emotions are runnin' in someone during a challenge match. It isn't *anything* like what ya experience night after night in da arena. Magnus isn't suddenly dishonorable simply because he's pissed he lost and doesn't feel a need ta hide it.
If I lose a ring and wanna head out right away, I will. Tons of other barons have done it, including yer favorite - Elijah Eagle Ecore.
Stead of bitchin' at Magnus, Sid, why not go chew Elijah out some.
~J
PS: Sorry Elijah fer bringin' ya inta an argument ya don't deserve ta be bashed in, but I need some leverage on Sid.

If you needed "leverage" in an argument, perhaps the argument should never had been made in the first place.
The "you don't have a title, you don't have a right to have an opinion" argument is old and should be retired.

I for one would never bow to a man who wouldn't even bother to learn my name before issuing challenge to me. That shows no respect for the man he is challenging.
>Yes, I'm nitpicking - For a good cause
And this good cause is? Are you trying to shove your sense of honor down everyone's throat? Not all people view things in the same light. I find nothing dishonorable about Magnus' actions.

Madame Elgarette,
So enlightening fer thee ta admit thee hae a problem wi' nae only t' new overlord bu' wi' Magnus ast well. Oh, an, Madame, Ah do thank ye fer acknowledgin' me expertise 'pon vendetta. Though havin' hae ta deal wi' yuir mindless, petty attempt at one, tis certes nae anna test 'o it.

Sidartha reads the latest missive from Jonalyn and reads it again..reading part out loud in her own accent.
"Trying in any way to enlighten thee be much like attempting to get brilliance from a puddle of mud."
She chuckles. "In other words, 'I don't know, but I'll ridicule you in order to pass the attention from myself to you'." With a small shrug, she leaves without writing anything.

So you wouldn't salute a man that didn't know your name? Why? Just because he didn't know your name. I could care less, I really couldn't. It's sickening you can't even bow to the man. From where I stand, I only see him a little ticked off about losing.
Oh no.
>Are you trying to shove your sense of honor down everyone's throat?
No, not exactly. It's common courtesy. Even an idiot bows. Long was an idiot because he didn't bow, Magnus deserves the same name.
I don't think it should matter if a man knows your name or not, it would matter if he dueled you honorably and faught well. Well, that's me. I'd never duel a man that wouldn't congratulate me at the end of a duel. Never.
