Jonalyn,

Speaking of living up to honor of another person, you should be more proud of Myst than anyone, after all if she is as you say, sniveling and whimpering, then she must have grown up to be in your likeness. Sniveling and whimpering is all that you write on this board, not to mention pointless name calling. You condemn her child just because of his mother and you know nothing of him. Myst didn't name her child so it could be the exact replica of
Dalamar and im sure she doesnt expect that. If a child lives up in the exact likeness of its mother than i would shudder to meet your mother. Im sick of you and your whinning and complaining. Sit down and shut up.
With that said, congragulations Myst.

At least someone around here has some sense.

Kattya,
Whether or not you like what Jona writes has no power over her right to say anything. The "sit down and shut up" attitude is extremely disappointing, because you are under some preconceived notion that your word will suddenly get Jona to listen to you.
Regarding naming the child after Dal... most people would know my take on the subject, since I have personal issues with him. However, there are a few reasons someone would name their child:
- It is a name the parents like
- It is a name of a relative
- It is the name of a hero
- It is the name of a dear friend
- Family Tradition
Those are the more common reasons, in my opinion.
I do understand Jona's sentiments. To her, there's only one Dal. I am sure there will only be one Dal to Sid.
Personally, I don't know if I would like to have a child named after me. Why? Because I am Var. I have been always been Var. My name is unique, and it has given me a special place in the Duel of Swords, in my opinion. Why would I want something that has made me known in a place special to me be passed on to someone? A uniqueness in the name... something which has given me a special place here, would be gone. I would be just another Var.
In other words, I take pride in the uniqueness of my name. Others would love to have a child named after them; after all, Noelle and I named our first daughter after Prin. I, on the other hand, am happy as being the only Var. It's just a matter of sentiments.
And whether you like it or not, Jona has every right to express her thoughts.

Baron Var, you say "whether you like it or not, Jona has every right to express her thoughts."
And Lady Kattya, or anyone else for that matter, has the right to express their thoughts about her.

I would simply prefer to see such things done with fewer meaningless insults and name-calling.

As I have learned, and practiced since that time of learning, insults do nothing to serve the cause of Honor.

" And Lady Kattya, or anyone else for that matter, has the right to express their thoughts about her."
Agreed. Not once did I dispute Kattya's right to speak. I said, in my opinion, that her words were disappointing and essentially futile. I did not, however, tell her that she couldn't say what she said. Nor did I tell her to shut up.
Honestly, so many people have told Jona to be quiet, and how many times has she stopped for them? I swear, people either:

a) don't catch on that telling Jona to shut up doesn't work
b) tell Jona to shut up for the sake of getting a pat on the back by other people
or
c) have nothing better to say. However, they want to say something, so they stick with what other people have said before.

I am sure Jona knows me well enough that I do not use this to speak ill of her. I think she's right about a few people in here, personally. She knows as much as I do that she's not one to back down for someone, especially not for people whom she doesn't like. Like I said, not only is telling someone to "sit down and shutup" in poor taste, because you are telling someone they don't have a right to post here, but it is also a waste of ink when it
comes to Jona. Jona will simply stop when she wants to.

That's just my opinion. I'm sure others feel different.

Var,

Sit down and shut up. You sound repetative.

Whether anybody has the right to tell another to just shut up is irrelevant.

It would do alot of good if everyone did indeed just *shut up*.

But everybody has to make thier statement, and everybody feels *thier* point of view is correct. That has never changed around here.

Just my observation.

<<Whether anybody has the right to tell another to just shut up is irrelevant.>>

It is relevant in this situation since it was implied throughout the course of these postings.

As Var so feels the inclination to clarify that he did nay dispute Kattya's right to speak, neither did Drake outright accuse him of such either.

<<But everybody has to make thier statement>>

Aye....everybody has the right to make their statements.

<<and everybody feels *thier* point of view is correct. That has never changed around here.>>

I must say that some people and nay everyone's point of view is given to feeling they are correct. Their points of view is observation just as you make them yourself.

<<It would do alot of good if everyone did indeed just *shut up*.>>

So ye see...if everyone did "shut up" it would benefit noone...for those who are incorrect in their observations will nay learn. The only person it would benefit is you if every did shut up.

Freedom of speech. Gotta love it.

Kattya, I'm afraid Var's right. Nothing can get Jonalyn to quiet down.

Wanna bet?

Think of how many trees would still be alive if everyone just shut up.

Jona,

I've noticed one thing about you. You sure can dish out insults, but you can't stand it when someone insults you. Learn to live a little.
