<<Wanna bet?

Think of how many trees would still be alive if everyone just shut up.>>

Want to be the first to serve as an example as for saving these trees? ::grins:: I'd like that. Trees are plentiful where I come from, though. Ah...such is the life of the magical realms.

Personally, I think we would 'ave a much higher quality of air if ye got rid of them nasty smellin' socks. ewwwww...

Marit

((and I must apologize for taking a shot that may seem unfair as in thought pattern. Sometimes, I think too much on the level that an audience would be reading this as a story. But, I'm sure you'll just ignore it, right Huma? ;D ))

Kattya

Tis thee make note that thee aire the "One and Only". Praise be unto the Universe that there nae be a duplicate of thee infesting the environs.

Tis quite clear thee hae nae the wit to recognize snivelin', whimperin' an whinin', else thee wouldst recognize that be Mystik's stock in trade. The ignorance thee display by thine jottings be typical of the personages what surround Mystik.

Madame, I need nae know annathing of the child, save that the poor wee laddie hast the misfortune to hae been spawned from Mystik.

May I suggest if thee aire distressed o'er my comments, thee secure a bucket, lass. Place it either at yuir feet or o'er thine head, either position wouldst improve thine visage.

I am always amused by those what feel free to comment on the one hand, whilst 'pon the other do instruct silence.

~~

It was my idea to give the child the name of Dalamar. Mystik, being a woman and naturally smarter than I, suggested that we make it his middle name. So, if the child has to live up to his first name, that would be me.
That shouldn't be too hard.

To whomever,

Interesting thine comment, "I've noticed one thing about you. You sure can dish out insults, but you can't stand it when someone insults you. Learn to live a little."

Thee hae then nae noticed accurately. I find most of the comments utterly lacking in wit, unoriginal, and certes nae annathing I hae nae heard before.

Informatively,

Jonalyn Starfare

"So ye see...if everyone did "shut up" it would benefit noone...for those who are incorrect in their observations will nay learn. The only person it would benefit is you if every did shut up."

"Wanna bet?

Think of how many trees would still be alive if everyone just shut up."

Well, Huma... I suppose all one might reasonably suggest is that if you're so bloody concerned about the foliage, you might set an example yourself.

Are you truly so uncertain about your own self-worth that you must consistently object to people expressing their opinions? Certainly, nobody forces you to pay heed to those opinions, and nobody holds you at sword point to force you to agree with them; therefore, the only other real reason you might have for so stridently wishing those opinions not to be expressed is that they frighten you.

Then again, it's amusing that just this day, you apparently were afraid to express an opinion to me on a matter only I can do anything about. Or perhaps you really are concerned about those trees, after all.

Ian Rex.

Well...look at how many postings there are on these boards. Look at how strung out the arguments are...and look at how many postings are from me. By comparrison, I am setting an example. I post far *less* than most others.

As for the rest of your thoughts Ian, you are entitled to your opinion. I'll not waste my time or paper voicing my opinion of what i think of you. Perhaps though you could spend less time pointing out faults of others and worry more about yourself.

All I want to know is, "Is anyone around here besides myself mature enough to not sling insult after insult or just hold thier tongue?"

I do from time to time voice my opinion, but, as you will notice if you *look*, I do it far less than even you Ian.

Just because I have an opinion, doesn't mean I should voice it because I can. Mom used to say, "if you haven't got something nice to say, then don't say anything."

That's all I have to say on this, period.

Huma,

E'er heard of Quality vs. Quantity? You seemed to be more focused on quantity. Its a weak defense on your behalf as far as I'm concerned.

<<Just because I have an opinion, doesn't mean I should voice it because I can.>>

You just did.

<<Mom used to say, "if you haven't got something nice to say, then don't say anything.">>

Are you sure she didn't say, "if you haven't got something of quality to say, then don't say anything?

Sincerely,

Not too long ago, Huma had all but disappeared from the Arena and this cork. I already miss those days

A nice turn of phrase, Huma, were it not so blindly unconnected to what I was referring to. I wasn't talking about your opinion OF me. I was talking about your opinion of someone else's actions, an opinion which is utterly useless unless directed TO me, since I'm the only one with the authority to take action on the matter.

As far as my comments regarding your being afraid of other's opinions... it falls in the same general category. Again, while you don't bother mentioning these things to me, it's reported to me constantly that you're complaining about what one person or another writes about you. Of course, in this instance, I suppose you can be excused, since I'm sure you know full well that I won't do a damn thing about telling people who are writing in a clearly
editorial manner what they can and cannot predict or express, provided the actual facts are correct.

"All I want to know is, 'Is anyone around here besides myself mature enough to not sling insult after insult or just hold thier tongue?' "

You don't seem to hold your tongue very well when you don't get your way in things; a shame you address your problems to the wrong parties. Physician, heal thyself.

"I do from time to time voice my opinion, but, as you will notice if you *look*, I do it far less than even you Ian. Just because I have an opinion, doesn't mean I should voice it because I can. Mom used to say, "if you haven't got something nice to say, then don't say anything."

I don't voice my opinion on everything, either. Nor does anyone else. The fact remains, your continuing crusade to get people to cease saying things which you don't want to hear is tiresome, puerile, and pointless.

Ian Rex.

It should be noted that Lady Starfare has, in the past, made postings to the effect of "Your opinion is less than nothing because you are less than nothing, so run along and play somewhere else."
When you got past the bog of insults, the posts were generally of the "Shut up" variety.

As far has her posts for the past few months go, I would have no idea... as I do not read what she writes or listen to what she says any longer.

And yes Huma, there are those of us who do not scatter insults like Autumn leaves before the winds of hatred. But we are few and far between.
