A Disappearance of A Caller.
written by: Lisana Colestae

Lisana had spoken with some of Marius's more trusted men. After Anubis had beaten her to a near pulp she has sworn to see him dead. More for the threat he made against her unborn child. That was what sent her over the edge. Marius's absence had struck deep in her life and when he had called her on it she lost all sense of everything. That is what had caused the whole thing.

The healer coming to see her as she was confined to bed with the small amount of spotting that his shot to her stomach had caused. It was still to early to have the baby and she knew it. The healer giving her medicine to take to stop the spotting and keep her out of labor. Though she was still restricted to bed. She could go out once a week by way of wagon to work. She was restricted from leaving the premises without a guard and a dispatch was sent
out to Marius, letting him know what had happened.

Two days of rest had help her come up with the solution to the problem. Assassins, well paid assassins. That is how she would rid her family of the problem by the name of Anubis. The highest ranked Guard sent out to aquire such men and bring them back to her.

Three in all were gotten. Three men each paid a handsome sum to rid the Colestae family of the Egyptian. It was all to be done before her next shift started. All three men sent out with the instructions that the job was to be completed in five days time. Before the Lady Colestae returned to the Outback for her next scheduled shift. It was that simple and she was confidant that the plan wouldn't fail. There were three of them, only one of him. How
could it fail?

Tonight was the night of the proving, whether or not her assassins had been successful. Tonight was the night she was allowed back in town to work her shift in the Outback. Anubis was nowhere to be seen. Apparently her assassins had been sucessful. It had worked and her family was free of the man's torment.

Then it happened. He walked in, smug as ever and with a dangerous look on his face. She knew then that the plan had failed. She was scared to say the least. Bane coming in later and she hid behind him, rather in his side. Her arms wrapped protectively around her swollen stomach as she refused to call any fights for him. Letting the poor nearly blown up scoreboard do it for him. Only when he had left after beating a man rather soundly did she relax.
It was all over right? If he was going to hurt her it would have been right then and there. It would have happened all ready. He would have done it in front of witnesses to seal her humiliation. It was over and she relaxed visibly.

........Or was it.

A Disappearance of a Caller, Pt. 2
written by: Lisana Colestae

Bane had stayed with Lisana for the rest of her shift. The two of them talking about where Bane had been and how things had been for Lisana. They even got to talking about Marius's disappearance. Talking until Lisana finally realized that they were the only two in the Outback and that it was time to shut down for the night.

Lisana leaning over awkwardly as she got ready to leave and she placed a light kiss to Bane's cheek. Thanking him for his protection during the last part of her shift. A noise at the door drawing her attention and it was Caedia she saw. The reappearance of her best friend bringing a smile to her lips and with a final farewell to Bane she was waddling her way over to Caedia.

Not realizing that Caedia was thinking the worst about her pregnant state and the kiss to the cheek she had given Bane, Lisana was giving her best friend a soft kiss and a hug before turning to Bane and asking him to send Marius home if Bane happened to see her missing husband. Caedia finally coming out of her shock and misguessed state to give Lisana a hug before Lisana was moving slowly and carefully through the debris and out of the doorless
doorway.

She had expected the guards to be waiting for her, but when she got outside she saw only the wagon. A frown growing on her face as she looked around for the men Marius had left in charge of her safety. She never saw the attack coming. Anubis appearing behind her and grabbing her from behind. It was the recognition of the smell and the clothes that had her giving a shrill scream as she was snatched up off the ground. Her bag sent flying to thud
against the doorway to the Outback as her folder and papers went flying everywhere. The cloak she was wearing for added warmth falling to the ground where her feet once were. Her hands scratching and fighting against the hold. Anubis whisking her away before Bane or Caedia could make it outside. Her two closest friends left with the aftermath of her disappearance.

The scream was piercing even in her current state. Blinking out of the pain, she spun on heel and headed after Bane who had made it before her. Silvers narrow slightly as the red rims around her irisis lit a bit brighter as she strove for any hint, any type of answer she could gather from the surrounding air.

There was the trace of Lisana's soul, that much she had gathered from the previous hug. There was several resounding heart beats that lingered in the air as well. A few of them male, she could tell from the slow methodical beating. Blending and pulsing, the air currents was pressing into her as well, she couldn't take it very well.

Bane found some papers, she had stumbled upon Lisana's pack, but that was all that was left of the woman. Frustration tore through her with worse pain than the sword had given, unfortunantly she couldn't handle everything that well. Falling to the floor, she allowed the dizziness and pain to decide for her. She'd pick up the search later after she had found her brother and got his help as well. With the three of them the search couldn't
fail.

It was a cold and desolate place if you weren't sure where in the world you were. At least the alleyway had the moonlight to guide her senses. Without its candlelit glow, the shadows sparkled with their own eerie luminescence, leaving little else for sight to lock on. Silver eyes made their own appearance as she looked around trying to assess exactly what had happened.

The red rims around the silver irises brightened a moment as somewhat instinctive senses kicked in. She could smell the soul of someone familiar, someone she was close to. Sensitive ears picked up the rhythm of his heart; yet even with the comforts of knowing, she was in unease.

Slender legs slid from beneath the sheets she had been so carefully placed under and set down quietly on the floor. Unfortunately for her, while her hearing and sense of smell had been intensified, her eyes still had much to learn. After stepping around in the deep darkness for a bit, she found what she was looking for and pushed back the thick material. Moonlight fluttered in and gave view to the room at hand.

With the existence of light and darkness now collating, she found her way to the candles and lit them marveling as each gave view to the massive amount of food that had been gathered and meticulously placed around.

After eating a good portion of the food (and much more than any normal human woman should or could, in one sitting) she ran a bath, taking care to allow Bane to sleep on. Clean, fed, and well rested, she slipped out of the room and down the hall. She remembered now why she was unsettled. Lisana, something had happened to her.

Nervously, she knocks on her brother's door, shifting from foot to foot. It was the first time she was to see him after so long.. at least while he was awake.

With blueprints scattered all over his work table, Tareth studied. He knew that time was short... both in the amount he had to pull off the job and in how long he could actually continue to stay in his Outback room before the place was demolished.

Dawn had finally revealed herself as the founder of his mysterious offer, after he'd waited fruitlessly for her in the alleyway. She came to him while he was actually inside the Outback fighting hall... what a brash young woman. Of course, it was a slave she was after. Once again he was hired to steal a slave for some nut that wanted attention. No skin off his back, Anubis shouldn't prove any more difficult than any other slaver he'd run up
against.

The plans for his mansion hadn't come easy, he'd spent a good deal of Dawn's downpayment just to get his hands on them. He couldn't even verify their authenticity, although they seemed accurate enough compared to the long range surveillance he'd already done.

Heavy marker strokes already crossed out all but two possible openings in the perimeter, he was debating which of the pair would be best for penetration and retrieval. Miniature demons seemed to be pounding on his brain with their tiny hammers, he was trying to massage the bridge of his nose with two fingers when a knock sounded on his door.

Dragging his feet after a long day of dueling and barter, he slides the bolt noisily aside and pulls the door open to the full length of the chain still securing it. As always, his out-of-sight hand tensed ready on the grip of his Walter as he peered outside.

Once he saw who stood there, he hastily unchained the door and threw it open.

"Caedia! Good god, I was worried about you!"

"Yah, hi. Busy?" She didn't wait for an answer as in all reality she just wanted to collapse into his arms and have him tell her everything was going to be alright. With Sweet Baby James gone from her life, she didn't have that plutonic man to curl up with and watch a sunset. Tareth was family.. Tareth could have all the answers. Bane was the romantic interest that didn't allow for that plutonic need of tears
wiped away and cuddled.

"We have a problem," the problem was that she just wanted to cry and didn't really want to lose that control in front of Bane, she wanted him to think her stronger and better than that. Yes, she was a prideful person, "Lisana has dissapeared. She's been ki- uhm, woman-knapped by someone."

She reached forward to pick absently at his shirt to get off some invisible lint and continued her speech.

"From the sounds of it, it was men. I couldn't trace any women to the scene. But I can find Lisana again. I need you and Bane to help me though." She didn't bother explaining how she knew or what the sounds were, there would be plenty of time to explain her latest situation.

She was through speaking and therefore cast her gaze to the demolished Outback's ground floor before she did end up in needing tears.

His arms easily accepted his sister, pulling her into that embrace that she so craved but he knew she would never ask for. In secret, he also needed it, it had been much too long since he'd seen her, his only family.

"Lisana? I saw her just the other day... " His confusion showed in his voice, let's take one crisis at a time here.

With a glance over to the paper-strewn table, he sighs and lifts Caedia's chin with one finger. The job could wait for now, family and friends were more important in the immediate future.

"What do you need?"

It was a night to remember. Her second shift since Anubis had taken her prisoner. It was one of the few times she was let out of her prison. Of course it probably wouldn't be so bad if she wasn't such a prideful stubborn woman. She was always angering Anubis. Refusing to call him Master and constantly insulting him. Or worse yet trying to attack him. She just wanted her freedom. Lisana wanted to be free.
To return to her home, to search for her husband. To have their child without fear of what Anubis would do to the baby. It wasn't so much for one woman to want, was it? To Anubis it was amusing she would guess by his expressions after he would beat her and she would beg to go home.

The day had been no different. Earlier she had thrown a fit and threw a plate of food at him. Which had earned her quite the beating. Anubis didn't take any stomach shots at her but he soundly thrashed her. Leaving her sobbing on the floor bruised and battered. She was angry and filled with hate. She wanted Anubis dead. But then came the time for her to be allowed to go to work. Dressing carefully she tried to cover as many of the bruises as she
could. It didn't help. She still had a busted lip and bruises all over her face and arms. Those she couldn't cover.

Heading to the Outback she ignored the pains in her abdomen as best as she could until she could actually sit and relax. Then she was trying to work through them. Sheila looking at her with concern and she began her duties. Calling what would be her first and only duel of the night. Kelli came in and that was when it happened. Her water broke, making a mess of her dress and the floor. This was turning out to be a night of suprises it seemed as
Kheldar came in as well. Hearing Kelli crashing around in the back and then seeing Lisana it didn't take long for him to figure out what was going on and he was there. As he had always been for her. Right by her side, gently taking care of her. Lisana was distracted enough in trying to keep his true identity a secret. She'd made that silent promise to protect him and she wasn't about to break it. Refusing the pain killers he offered. Dealing with the
pain of her labor and finishing calling the duel as she was laid on the couch. It was fast and strenious the birth. At the end she was blessed with a newborn son whom she named Erin Kheldar Colestae after her dear friend and her long dead grandfather.

Everyone clearing out and the night died shortly after, her body sore and in need of being cleaned up she carefully made her way towards the locker room to change clothes. Erin never leaving her arms as she kept the boy close to her. Sitting alone in the Outback until Anubis came to collect her and she was trying valiantly to avoid another beating since she held her newborn son in her arms. She could only hope and pray that Caedia and Bane would come
for her and Erin soon.

It was rather odd for the warrior to stay asleep for so long, but that rest was very much needed, and even more welcome.
The process if his waking took a few moments as he sorted through bleary thoughts. The bed wasn't what he was accustomed to at his home. Ah well, maybe he just dropped into the nearest bed upon getting back to his house in the Forest.
Something still felt wrong, though. Something was amiss. The sudden rush of thoughts of that fateful night hit him when he pushed himself up to sit, finally realizing where he was.
Lisana!
He remembered the scream.. the scuffle.. and then the silence. He remembered it all, even if he didn't totally comprehend what was occuring at the time it happened. That was due to some other circumstances, though. Another thought came to him then, and his gaze turned to the other side of the bed.
Caedia was gone!
Wait a minute, this all had to be a bad dream, or something. Two of the people he cared for couldn't have disappeared in such a short time.
He was awake, though, that he knew (even if he wasn't fully awake). The warrior went about the room, quickly dressing and leaving the food (or what was left of it) behind to move into the hall on the upper level of the Outback. Though Bane was still trying to force the still-sleepy confusion away, he had the presence of mind to move cautiously. After seeing some of the things that happened around there, he wasn't quick to dismiss the possibility
of lurking danger.

A Disappearance of a Caller, Cont.
by Lisana Colestae

It had been a few weeks since Lisana had gone into labor and had Erin. It had been a strange few weeks. To put it honestly it had begun to wear on the soft spoken and calm, but regally graceful woman. The thing that suprised her most wasn't having her son in the Outback or even the fear of taking back to her seemingly eternal prison under Anubis's control. What has suprised her was the softness with which her tormentor had
taken her son from her arms and dealt with him. Before roughly dismissing the woman and her child back to the new place laid out for her and her infant child. A room seperate from the rest but still a prison. Though it was the same old routine, just a bit more lenient when Erin would cry to be fed or need to have his needs attended too. Lisana could say that the birth of her son was a blessing, the beatings decreased to an extent as did her taunting
of Anubis. She had a baby to care for and smother with love and attention. Her metabolism always out of the ordinary had once more kicked back in to high gear and she was eating to put her captor out of house and home. Her body burning more calories then she seemed to consume and eating up what little fat she had put on during her pregnancy. Once more coming to be all of one hundred and ten pounds soaking wet. The fact that she was forced to feed
Erin from the breast didn't help her voracious appetite decrease in the least.

Still allowed out to work her shifts she was suprised that Anubis demanded that she leave Erin at the Manor with him and his ilk while she was gone. Perhaps as a bargaining chip that she returned. Though he didn't need it. He still seemed to know everywhere she went and where she was at any given time of the day or night. The emotional reserves wearing down within her slowly but surely. Even as she fought not to be broken by the Egyptian and his
words and actions. Finally risking it all to hide away with the one person who she was closest too besides his sister. Tareth, he was always there when she needed to be cheered up or someone to just tease and be "normal" with. Tonight though he was more then just there for her. They fought, in the ring. For the first time in ages she was able to get into a ring and just let out all that she was feeling, holding back just enough so as not to hurt him.
Though she doubted she could if she tried. The bet was made and she was determined to win. Win she did and she was enjoying that winning sensation until the Egyptian appeared. Then it was time to really let out all her pent up emotions and rage. Tareth leaving with the comment that Lisana knew where he hid out. That making her feel a bit better as she challenged Anubis to a fair fight on even ground. It was definately a fight. One that she put all
her small strength and very slight weight into it. Giving as good as she got, round for round. She wasn't going to let him just beat her down into submission without a fight. And it was a fight he was getting. Sure not as good a fight as he got with Janella but she was fighting with every ounce of her undaunted spirit at the moment. She took everything he gave to her and more. Never once balking as those gauntlets drew blood on her battered body.
Never once giving a hint of fear at any blow he might strike. They were on even ground here. This was nuetral territory so to speak and she was hitting back as fiercely and as often as she could. Though it wasn't enough to give her victory over him. It never would be. He won. Leaving the ring without a glance back to her and she spat at him. Heading back to her chair and pulling Tareth's hat down over her eyes before she watched Anubis for a long
while. Making sure that he was busy before she risked it all and ran. She ran fast and she ran hard. Taking a chance at gaining just one night of safety and freedom. Just one night of uninterrupted sleep. One night without a beating. One night to gather her sanity and her will about her and shore herself up for the battle ahead that would last only who knows how long.

She ran straight to Tareth. They both knew she would find him. They both knew she would come and she did. Finding him easily and she fell into him. For one moment in this horror letting her control go. For one moment letting it all out. Crying softly in his arms and it was such a comfort to cry. To let out all of the frustration and the helplessness out. To let the tears fall without worry that they would bring taunts from the Egyptian. He wasn't
there. Only Tareth was there and he was holding her and letting her cry and just trying to give her as much comfort as he could. She could have cried for hours for all that she could tell. Falling asleep in his arms and that was the last thing she remembered. Save for the fact that he bundled her up in blankets and held her while she shivered in her sleep. A combination of emotional overwhelming and fear. Waking slowly as the first slivers of
sunlight were coming over the horizon. Her internal clock telling her what time it was and she carefully began to move out of the secure and comforting hold. Leaving behind nothing but warm blankets and her smell on the pillows. Running once more. Though this time not for safety but away from it. To her son Erin who would be hungry and needing her. To the waiting punishment of Anubis which she didn't even dare guess at.

The punishment had turned out to be more then she expected and less then she ever would have guessed she'd gotten from the man. He had cornered her in her bath and demanded to know what she had been doing and why she didn't come back that night. Of course here she was nude and in the bathtub and there *he* was standing there staring at her. Well it wouldn't amaze anyone that she was throwing things at him
and screaming about privacy and the fact that she was naked. Really anyone could have guessed that it would come to that. This was the epitomy of her clinging to her sanity really.

Anubis of course produced the whip and was using it not to hurt Lisana, but to try to disarm her and capture her to pull her from the tub and into his reach where he could easily control her. It took quite a while and she was left with more then a few welts on her body. In the end though he had indeed subdued her and gotten her from the water. Tossing a slip of clothe that wouldn't pass for clothing in her book he simply told her that she was
restricted to the manor. Her privileges of going out for small amounts of time when she wasn't working revoked. She was to stay with Erin in their room for the rest of the day unless he summoned her himself.

A look of disdain perhaps in the sneer on his lips as he turned and left her there on the floor of the bathing chamber. Her body shaking with silent anger and humiliation as she gathers the scrap of cloth up and winds it about her body as best she can. Disappearing with the sound of bare feet slapping against tiles in a rather outright run she disappears into hers and Erin's room. Cuddling her son on the small bed provided for her.

It had been a week since she had been allowed out of the Manor and it was time for her to do her shift once more. She was intent on doing just that as she slipped into the Outback and relieved Sheila. A night out with other people. Free people. Her friends. That was what she needed to calm down.

Everything was going so well. She was enjoying calling the few duels that she had that night and really enjoying talking with her friends. But it all seemed to change in the blink of an eye.

Bargos coming in dragging the beaten and bleeding form of some young boy she didn't know. The poor boy chained and collared, a slave? She was terrified. More so as each event unfurled and she ended up scuttling to a safe distance away from the commotion as things began to unravel.

The precious grasp she had on her emotions, her whole being and the control she thought she had over her situation, snapping in the blink of an eye as she watched with horrorified eyes at what Bargos had done to the boy, the extent of that boys injuries and then it all came apart. Janella and Panther crouching over the boy and then Janella ending his life without even trying to save the poor boy.

To say that Lisana lost it was an understatement. She went off the deep end in a way that no one could comprehend. She screamed harsh statements at Janella and Panther. She accused them of being no better then Bargos. The soft spoken and normally quiet woman was shattered.

The end of her shift not coming soon enough and instead of dallying she rushed through the Outback, heedless of the fact that she had soaked her bare feet in the poor boys blood. Rushing out to be taken away by Anubis. Taken back to the Manor and she didn't make a sound, not one insult thrown at him, not a single snide remark.

Simply running towards the room she shared with her son, leaving a trail of blood footprints and a rather suprised Anubis behind. Of course the man hid it well but this was not the Lisana he knew. Ordering the blood cleaned up and he sent another servant to summon the woman to his chambers.

Lisana arriving with tears streaming down her cheeks and looking like death warmed over twice on a bad day. She answered his questions before dropping to her knees before him and begging him not to do to her what Bargos had done to that boy. Laying her head in supplication against his thigh, her tears falling hotly onto the bare skin of his leg as her body shook with sobs. She of course missed the pleased expression that came over Anubis's features
at the change in the rather willfull woman he had captured. His hand falling to gently stroke over her hair in a tender gesture before the firm but soft command for her to return to her room and Erin reached her ears. Sending her scurrying to do as he commanded and him to ponder over what he would discover next about the changed woman.

Her fate was accepted. She was happy if one could be happy as another's property. She was just that with Anubis. Delighting when she was in his favor and trying hard to make up for any mistakes that put her in his disfavor.

She delighted in his touch. Human contact was always what she craved. She was a creature of sensations and stimuli. To her freedom had become a pipe dream. She would never be free, nor would she ever be anything then she was at this moment. Anubis's slave. His consort, concubine and property.

There were few nights indeed that she did not spend sleeping in his chambers with him. Nights in which she delighted in giving her master anything and everything he wished for. He gave her protection, security, a home for her and Erin. Tenderness when they were alone. All the things she craved or needed for herself and Erin were provided for. She was his in every sense of the term and meaning.

Kheldar had paid a high price for comforting and protecting Lisana in the Arena. For holding Anubis's property in his arms and on his lap.

Anubis sent the challenge to Kheldar for his Opal Pathfinder. She had tried to talk Kheldar out of it. Anubis had offered Kheldar and out to the challenge. All Kheldar would have to do was leave her alone and accept her fate.

It wasn't to be though. At the end of her shift Anubis and Kheldar were entering the makeshift cone rings to fight out the challenge. Matt calling the match and it seemed that there was nothing she could do about it.

Bane came in during the match. The two speaking quietly as her friend risked everything that was important to him, his Opal. For her freedom. A freedom she couldn't comprehend anymore and didn't know if she wanted. Anubis concentrating so much on the match that he never even realized that Bane had snatched Lisana and Erin.

Bane taking them away as Lisana screamed for Anubis. Crying and beating on Bane's back as he took her away from the only safety and security that she and Erin knew. Her words harsh to Bane. "He will come for me.....And you will pay for this Bane.....I thought you were my friend!".

Her struggles and fight for naught. Bane wouldn't let her go or put her down until they were somewhere she didn't recognize. Bane was careful with the basket containing Erin though. Taking them both to his home and leaving them there in a room. Lisana's sobs causing Erin to fuss and she tried to comfort herself and Erin. Having no clue that the bond Anubis held over her was broken. That her master and provider had no idea where she was.

Bane standing in the doorway and watching Lisana as she rocks Erin back and forth in her arms. Whispering over and over to herself and the child. "He'll come for us Erin...don't cry, he'll come for us."
