::After receiving a little telegram he thinks to himself why not ask a little question about the public's view on the best of the best of the emeralds. He then takes out a piece of paper and writes the following::

Kel,

I've got 20 Crowns on me, 9.5:1 odds (hey, they haven't heard of me downtown yet), taking the Diamond home.

I've got 20 Crowns on Jesse Troyan placing in the top 3 slots, 3.5:1 odds. I managed to convince some poor sap of a bookie that the kid's youth was a disadvantage. Yeah, OK.

I've got 10 Crowns on Phantom, 3:1 odds, says he loses his very first match of the night.

I've got another 10 Crowns on Phantom, 3:1 odds, say he loses his second match of the night.

One or both of those'll pay off big, because you just know that punk couldn't keep his cool in a meat locker, let alone the square circle (or the park, or the dojo, or the freakin' fruit cellar at this rate).

I wanted to bet that Anubis would get spinkicked out of an armblock and Karnafexx would call someone a fishface, but no one would give me odds.

It's really about the money for me, since I found that the bookmakers around here are slow and stupid (either that or they've been desensitized to oddsmaking by all the godlings stumbling around). I made more money on T & A (Tareth v. Jaycy) than I ever made before in my whole bettin' career, and I hope to have a repeat.

I also wanted to bet that I'd lose to Janella at some point, but apparently the bookies here know all about throwing matches. And here I was hoping to catch a glimpse up those long, strong, man-hating legs of hers...

Anyway.

There's my odds, Ghostface Killah Kel.

Go check out the corkboard on Halfwit Island for a *real* laugh.

All my love,
Scarpia

Aww, no bets on me to go undefeated, Tony? It's a shame you didn't bet on me, you could make a lot of money.

No Dustin, he wouldn't.

Not after I entered the Tournament. I have an idea though..we should use Moonberyl and Icedancer to plow through everyone first, you know double team 'em. Then we could clash Opal to Opal..but everyone's scared of those things being together..so no dice..

Here's a bet though, Scarface..but there is a catch.

I'll give you odds. 7:1 That I make it to the top 4. And 10:1 odds that I take home the Diamond. If you take one you take both. So..basically you could get a nice 17:1 odd if I flop out. You'd still pay off 3:1 if I do alright but don't get the Diamond..and here's the savoring morsel..I get 17:1 if I get to floss the ice after the Tournament, and I don't mean the Opal.

::After one day of rest he walks up to the board to check up on his little post and notices a few papers over his describing him the odds. The odds that he sees dont have a very wide base to build on, In fact the end of the feather pen he has in his hand is wider. Feeling it his duty to reply on them he writes a very small note::

Dear who this may concern,

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Daelin... If you're offering my 17:1 odds that you get knocked out of the tournament with neither the diamond nor a top-4 spot... You're on.

Assuming that those odds stand (7:1 and 10:1, respectively), give me 15 crowns on the first and 20 on the second.

And most of my gold,

Sure he would? What's your record against me again? ::muses::

I like the idea. Who cares if everyone's scared of them? That's not our problem.

Here's the odds on me winning. 50:1... Mmhmm you better believe it.

So everyone bet on me. And whoever bets on the sorry excuse for a brawler named Bode, well you're a sorry excuse for a gambler.

I'm thrilled that everyone's offering insane odds and all, but try to remember that 9:1 means 9:1 *against* the competitor pulling off the bet-upon achievement.

In other words, Dustin is offering me 50:1 odds to bet against him -- if he wins, he gets one crown, if he loses, I get 50.

This is mathematically insane, but I'll take it.

My last 10 crowns on Dustin losing, it being a 50:1 longshot in his eyes.

No matter what happens now, I'm walking away a rich winner.

And a tax on people who are bad at math or too rich to care,

Long as they ain't leavin it to me again to kick the butts of that oversized pussy and that little pink nuisance out of the quest, and throw off my whole game like last time, your fat and hungry wallets can count on Bode. Lord knows why ya let things like that in anyway. This ain't no damn carnival.

Alexandra,

Kel is the worst excuse for a person I've ever really witnessed. 50 crowns says he fails all his math tests.
