First off....Les me say this as one who stood as second to the honorable Lord Ulyssess d' Nitesong...He had a long reign and one that reflected his presence in the ring and without...Ya dids prevail on the eve of yer first challenge fer a ring or annah rank above WarLady...Ya bested me frien, Lord Ulysses in honorable combat and as such deserve a long reign with th fewest numbah o challenges...long have ya stood by watching others within the rings, twas yer time an ya should takes full advantage....

No, Xy, What I balieve my friend Luth was trying to say was that it wasn't in good taste that I announced my intent to challenge Skyler for his ring before he got the chance to get used to it, and as such, she would have rather seen me face her than do something like this. I can understand this even, as it had happened to me at one point when I had my own ring.
This isn't the actual challenge, however. I just wished it known what my plans were.
I would enjoy a discussion with you about this Luth, perhaps sometime we can talk.

::remembered reading something about "the misbegotten ring", pushes it out of his mind::
Well said, G'nort. Good luck with your future challenge.

::thinks about it all some more::
I can understand why a challenge to a newborn Baron would be hastened. After all..... If G'nort had waited until the sun rose again upon the ranks... his opportunity may be taken by another. Perhaps I am hard on my friends. I cannot say with honest conviction that I would have pounced so readily upon a Warlord unknown to me. For that I am doubly at fault. Or am I. I remember the exhiliaration I felt upon achieving my rank of Baron. It lasted at very least for days, and I still wear the ring in a
measure of appreciative fascination. If I had been challenged (or a similar letter of intent) on the night I won the Ring..... I think I would've wept, as I suspect I shall weep on the day I hand the 9th ring to another worthy bearer.
I am,
Queen Luthien Tinuviel
Holder of the 9th Baronial Ring.

Gnortie...
You know that I'll support you, no matter who you challenge, nor when, nor even why. You are my best friend in the world. There is no one who is more like a brother to me than you.
