::Rips a page out of his notebook, tacking it up to the boards::

Fellow duelers of the Arena....

I, Gnimish Gnimoi, former Overgnome of the DoS and currently first ranked Warlord, so hereby issue a challenge to the Loyal Baroness Adeena, Aka, the Red Zealot...

In case you're wondering, no I don't have a really good reason for this challenge...I've always considered Adeena somewhat of a friend, and there are no political motives here...I just wanted something to do with all these freakin' peer wins....

Oh, and here's ten of 'em...

1. J Oaknshld - Warlord - RDI Golden - November 29 - 5 - 2
2. WickedDeth - Warlord - RDI Mathia - December 4 - 5 - 3
3. Lyon xx - Warlord - RDI Mathia - December 4 - 5 - 0
4. Drakewyn x - Warlord - RDI Girvin - December 4 - 5 - 1
5. DUKELETO1 - Warlord - RDI Summer - December 4 - 1 - 0
6. LordovDale - Overlord - RDI Mimi - December 5 - 5 - 4
7. GnrtDrgoon - Warlord - RDI Luth - December 5 - 5 - 4
8. Harris4801 - Warlord - RDI Clo - December 6 - 5 - 2
9. MDickey586 - Warlord - RDI Rogue - December 12 - 5 - 2
10. Quan Fei - Warlord - RDI Luth - December 12 - 5.5 - 4

I wish the best to the Baroness, and hope to have a reply soon.

Hey, Gnim, if you have quite a few PW's, why not use one more impressive than 1-0?

To whomever,

Upon confirmation of peer wins I shall set the duel up. Since Gnimish decided to come out the retirement he put upon himself a few weeks ago I suppose special care should be taken with this matter so I shall handle all aspects of the arrangements.
I will not question a "Loyal follower of the overlord's reasons for challenging a loyal baroness when there are renegades running rampant in the DoS nor shall I complain about being challenged by one who considers me a friend. I have long grown tired of the bickering and false pretenses that go along with the numerous useless challenges in this sport that was once great.
So I shall bear this challenge as I have others, I shall defeat my apponent and that shall be the end of our "friendship", for I do not consider one who challenges myself a true friend. Others feel different but those are my feelings. True Loyalty to Dalamar should encompass his loyal barons also. So instead of strengthening the overlordship by challenging a renegade you seek to weaken my lords hold on the title by lashing out at myself. I fear
that this shall be a very costly and humiliating waste of peer wins, but the choice has been made.
I must say that I am indeed hurt that the reason Gnimish wishes to attempt to take my ring is as petty as "Doing something with his damn peer wins", I would have expected more respect for myself and my ring than that.

I am:

Adeena Maeax,
The Red Zealot,
Baroness.

Heavy.
Now, let's just see if I get this. Adeena's ticked caused Gnim challenged her without some big political reason, she thinks, from what I understand, that he should challenge one of the Renegades, that are apparently, "running rampant" and she is not going to be his friend after this because friends shouldn't challenge friends for their rings?
Sounds all thought out. And almost whiney. I don't know her personally. I never see her in the arena. (And as most of you know, I'm there quite a bit.) But, I'm speaking my mind here.
Too many damn arguements over politics. But I may start a huge one by saying what I have witnessed and read with my own eyes.
I heard about the incident in the arena where Dal cast my brother, AJ, out, cause of something or other. And I have read an interview of Seamus's where he said Dal requested that he challenge Huma, (they were friends as well, mind you) and then Dal didn't even show up to the challenge. Dal, I'm sorry, but where would you expect the loyalty to come from after things like that?
So, I am asking if friends shouldn't challenge friends, should Huma consider Seamus not his friend? According to Adeena, yes. Luckily, my husband is forgiving and understanding, and has not looked badly upon Seamus. For, I think he knew, and understood.
As for Gnim's challenge. He had stated at one time, that he fully intends to regain the title of OverLord..or in his case, OverGnome. Defeating a Baron is just another step for him proving that he can do it. But, of course, I'm guessing about what's in his head. But, it doesn't take a genius to put the pieces together.
I have offered up my two cents. For that's about all it's worth when it comes to politics. I didn't want to sound like I didn't like Dal, cause I do, I was merely stating what I thought about certain things.

The commoner wanders to the ancient cork board. As she peruses the various comments, she pauses, a finger running over Gnimish's challenge. "Och, ye wouldst thin' th' gnome wouldst at least know th' Baroness' full name be Adeena Maeax.", she murmurs. "An wh' be this.?" , arching a raven brow. "Jus' wantin' somethin' ta do wi' 'is freekin' peer wins?", an unladylike mutter. "An th' gnome e'en says 'e
dinna ha' a good reason fer th' challenge."

The commoner snags the quill which hangs by its ribbon, penning a note to the former Overgnome, a second to Lady Aja Dragonbane and a third to the Baroness, Adeena Maeax, then tacks them up.

M'Lord Gnimish Gnimoi, former Overgnome

Was it nae thee that did retire from the Overlordship, only the second Overlord in the history of the rings to leave the throne vacant? Was it nae thee, when thee did hold the mantle who oft whined and moaned most piteously that thee were nae respected? Was it nae thee who oft entered the basement bemoaning thine abilities. I did hold thine infamous thwap stick when thee did relinquish the mantle and fled into retirement.

Thou didst declare most publicly thine support of the Overlord, M'Lord Dalamar ArD'aumon, yet thee declaim thou chose a Loyal Baroness for thine challenge merely for that thou wished something to do with thine peer wins? I confess my befuddlement at such reasoning.

Signed bemusedly,
Jona.

M'Lady Aja Dragonbane.

I was present during both the disagreement between the Baron Bird and the Overlord and also was present when the two gentlemen did settle the matter amicably between them. The Baroness, Adeena Maeax has graced the rings for many a long year.

One should not be surprised that the Overlord would request of M'Lord Seamus MacDonnough that he would seek to challenge M'Lord Huma Dragonbane, for M'Lord Huma did declare himself renegade. M'Lord McDonnough surely took many factors into consideration in acceding to M'Lord ArD'aumon's request. M'Lady Dragonbane, of one thing I can assure thee, Sister Adeena Maeax may do many things, but whine is not one them. May I also suggest that to
comment that M'Lord Gnimish needs must challenge a baron, Loyal or Renegade, notwithstanding, as a means whereby to challenge the Overlord is perhaps a bit specious. For, M'Lord Gnimoi could just as easily challenge M'Lord Dalamar ArD'aumon directly, presuming that is indeed his goal.

Most Cordially,

Jonalyn Nenshen Starfare
Commoner.

Sister Adeena Maeax,

Baroness, may Justicant strike true, may thee duel with skill and honor. For such loyalty as thine to the Overlord does speak to all of that which oft goes a glimmering, Honor and Loyalty in the face of adversity.

Humbly,

Jonalyn Nenshen Starfare
Common as they come.

Sid,
It makes me happier than I can really explain to see you throwing punches at sacred cows again. (No, I am not calling anyone a cow. Goddess knows that might blow up in my face if I don't make it definite now.) Sure, maybe a loyalist shouldn't challenge a loyal baron, and instead should go for the renegades swarming the place. But do all challenges have to be taken completely seriously? Sure, it's a serious matter, but it doesn't have to be
worth ruining a friendship. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the constant challenges between Ellisa and Jeff didn't ruin their friendship, did they? Perhaps it's naive to think that friendly rivalries still exist...so call me naive.

Jonalyn,
I never said that Dal and AJ were still on the outs, I merely said that they were at some point. And I didn't know what about, but I did hear it to be unfair against my brother.
And about Dal requesting Seamus to challenge Huma, the point was he didn't even bother to show up at the challenge. It had little to do with Seamus and Huma..I was making the point that Dal asked that of Seamus, he *should* have been there.
I agree with you about the last bit. Gnim could have waited for the warlord tourney and tried to win that to have a shot at Dal's title. What's in Gnim's head, no one is sure!
As for the whiney bit, I said *almost* whiney. I don't know her. I've seen her once, many, many months ago.
Just thought I'd clear that up.
