~~~It all started 23 years ago....well let's start farther back, Much farther.
Young Garrent Dragonsblade was the Commander and Cheif of the Dragonian Clans. He served his nation with loyalty, justice and honor. That is until the Dark Dragon clan split away from the other clans..although the civilization had flourished and knowledge and power grew within the dominion of the Dragon without the Dark Ones ,as they were called, trouble also flourished. Laurence Darkgrave the commander of the Dark Dragons was mad with power, but
above that he was my grandfather,Garrent's, friend. Laurence had heard of the Ultimate Power of the Dragon located beneath the ruins of Torrent the 1st dragon capital. The Ultimate Power could be any form the mind made for it, a sword, a spell, some sort of creature, but the Ancient Dragonians had been smarter than other civilizations and gave the Power the ability to think for itself. The others who were like Laurence joined him and became the Dark
Dragons. They set up numerous cities around Torrent and at last activated the old city making it their capital. Once Garrent had heard knews of escavation going on he rushed to Torrent to bargain Laurence out of unleashing the power lest Chaos would befall all. Laurence showing true signs of madness laughed at my grandfather's acts 'You Fool!' He said. 'A nation is a strong as it's leader, and you the Dragonian leader, are a pathetic whelp. We, the
Dark Dragons shall crush you infernal insects.' Those words riled up the Great Dragonian War. My grandfather from Moranda in the south had gathered all the clans in a great army under himself. But in Torrent in the North, Laurence had gathered allies also, telling them of the great riches that slept beneath the city mad with greed many human civilizations and demi-humans, Orcs, Trolls, Els, Dwarves rushed to Torrent to help the Dark Dragons. But the
one thing Laurence did not tell them concerned the Power. The war raged on each side growing stronger. At one point in the war the 7 guru of the Dragon Clan tapped the powers of the Dragon each on tapping a power. Courage, Bravery, Hope, Strength, Wisdom. The 5 Intangible powers which all the Dragonian Knights were infused with making them more formidable warriors. The other 2 gurus were consumed as vessels for thier powers had unleashed the 2 great
dragons who replaces the wisemen, Rudriga and Agnima the most fabled dragons in all Lore. Then in a desperate attempt Laurence called on his wizards and warlocks to tap the Ultimate Power and produce creatures to destroy the 2 dragons. This left most of the necromancers dead or dying but produced many corrupt forms of soldiers which did the bidding of Laurence and 1 great beasts, the Mephisti, or the son of Mephisto, which was a beast standing about
10 feet high with 5 horns on each arm and 2 feet long nails. It also had toenails that curved upward then split outwards able to gore any opponent. It was cast in Hell's Metal so that no sword or axe of normal measures or enchanted with elementals could harm it. It also had 4 Hell's Horns jutting out of it's head which enabled it to call upon it's father, until or unless one of the horns was broken. The Dragons and the Mephisti were battling while
the soldiers were battling and the ground was held for a long while until about 10 years into the war when my grandfather had reduced the Dark Dragons' land to 1/2 it's size. It was then that a monk unknown by all appeared and blasted both armies back then with a burst of power sealed of the new boundary between the waring countries. He then turned to my grandfather and said, "Garrent, you do not know me, but if you are to continue this war nothing
notable will happen until long after you are dead. I have issued this same warning to Laurence who remarkably heeded it. Go home for your wife Evelyn is about to give birth to your 2nd son. After he is born and able to run the workings of the clans return your army, then and only then will you be able to focus all of your energy on the war only making you and the army much more powerful than imagined. Do not heed me and your misfortunes will soon be
discovered." With that a portal opened and the monk dissapeared into it. My grandfather then took all but 50 men back home...those men gaurded the boundary and were rotated out every month for 15 years. The army returned home and my grandmother bore their son, my father, Anduin. When my father was 14 he became the cheif of the clans in all but military affairs. My granfather was then 45 years of age. 2 weeks after the coronation of my father my
grandfather recieved a visit from a lovely young woman in white robes she threw a sword at his feet saying 'EVIL and GOOD are also at war. The victor is uncertain. The time of the world is at hand.' at that she disappeared and the sword glowed brightly. My grandfather picked it up and said, 'Yes, the time for everything is now at hand.' That day the war resumed with a fury that would last for 10 more years. Unbeknownst to everyone else a plan to rip
the war and the world asunder was also initiated.
Also at that time my father's brother, Vincent reached his 20 years of age and stepped down in favor of my father. Vincent was the greatest swordsman of the Dragonian Warriors and joined his father's side as a general in the war. By an odd turn of events and alot of work Vincent ended up on the wrong side of the battle. As a matter of facts he was inside the Dark Dragon Castle at Torrent. There he fell in love with Vanessa, Laurence's daughter,
After many weeks of meetings he dashingly told her that after their fathers talked some sense into each other she would be his wife; to seal the Vincent stayed with Vanessa that night. After the fact,the Dark Dragon soldiers burst in upon them and Vincent fought gallantly finally after dispatching most of them he escaped out of Vanessa's bedroom window and rode away the Dark Ones after him in full pursuit. Vanessa, meanwhile, was taken to her father
who was in and outrage. 'You disgust me!' he screamed. 'The wife of a Dragonsblade?!?!'At this Vanessa rose up and spit at her father saying, 'I would much more perfer a Dragonsblade than a Darkgrave!' At this he slapped her down and the only reason he did not kill her was because her mother, Queen Catherine, had arranged for her to go to her aunt's for the remainder of the war.
In the underground workings of Moranda a brotherhood known as the 'Brotherhood of the Angry Sword' had united to destroy both factions in the war and claim the power as their own. As the war grew on my grandfather had to make a choice. The two dragons had greatly harmed the Mephisti who was retreating to the gates of Hell, It was said that since my grandfather's newly aquired sword which was said to be forged by Angels could defeat the
Mephisti. He could follow the Mephisti and destroy it while the army held the ground around Torrent or he could march in and destroy Torrent allowing the Mephisti to escape. My grandfather decided to place the deed of Torrent to his generals and pursue the Mephisti before it could re-route to Moranda and destroy the town. The Battle with the Mephisti was great and mighty my grandfather was gored countless times and was about to be killed as the
Mephisti called upon it's father, but he climed up a nearby cliff and rained down with fury upon the horns, cutting of 2 before he was thrown the full 10 feet from the Mephisti's head to the ground. There the Mephisti crushed him under its horrendous foot and with a burst of strength my grandfather threw the sword pelting the Mephisti between the eyes and which it toppled backwards into a cliff and unknowingly backed its roaring head into a jutting
rock ending its reign of terrror. My grandfather stayed there for 5 days resting before he returned on foot to Torrent.
3 of the 5 generals were associated with the 'Brotherhood of the Angry Sword' and had tied Vincent and
McClain, the other faithful general, in an underground cave. They were then going to storm into Torrent and kill the inhabitants at night, then unleash the Ultimate Power upon the Dragonian Army.My Grandfather returned at a bad time learning from some troops who were going to Moranda to inform my father, thinking
my grandfather had been killed. My grandfather returned with the troops and found Vincent and McClain who they released. The small band was then going to regain command from the 3 rogues, but stumbled upon them in the dark reaches of the cave. McClain, Vincent, and the troops escaped at the request of my grandfather, who returned to deal vengeance to the 3 scoundrels. It was then that all 3 attacked him blindsidely in the caverns and dessimated
him. Vincent, McClain and the others returned to Moranda to inform my father who was 20 at the time and they returned and slaughtered the generals with absolutely horrific torturement and death penalties. Then my father and Vincent took control over the Dragonian Army and Torrent fell in 3 days. The last act of the war was the epic swordfights between Vincent, McClain, and Anduin, my father, The swordfights went all through the castles and in the end
all 7 generals of Laurence were cut down and McClain brutally injured. After that Vincent took off in search of Vanessa, and my father searched for Laurence. He found the Mad One in a state of Eternal Darkness on the fringe of becoming totally consumed in true EVIL they fought for hours on end until my father delievered the thrust that pierced the heart of Laurence then yanking upward he backed away. In a final act of bittersweet rage and respect
Laurence raved, "No matter what I will not be killed by a son of Garrent, I shall soon see your father, my friend....."and threw himself out of a window falling 50 feet to his death. That was the final chapter of the war that ransacked the world. EVIL was defeated and GOOD prevailed for then. But as the young woman who visited my grandfather said the time of the world was at hand. The world was decimated with the scars of war. All around crops were
failing and the land was bloodstained. Earthquakes, Typhoons, and Volcanic eruptions raked the world. This was a time for a beginning. A Great Conception. This is were my story begins.
This time of hardships endured for about 15 years, In those 15 years Vincent located Vanessa who gave birth to their son Samuel. And my father was married to a young woman named Madeline and in the 10th year of the great 'ending' as it was called they gave birth to a son named...no not Daelin, but Genn. Well his full name was Gennon. But I know him as Genn. My brother. 5 Years Later when the 'Great Agony' ended Madeline gave birth to another son
named Daelin. At that time all the Agony of the world had ended and it seemed as if things began anew..with this renewment, I was born..This year was called the "Great Conception". Ever since I can remember I have always argued with Genn over something or another..Most of the times they were trivial..when we were a bit older though they became serious. Once when he was 19 and I was 14 we got really angry and were screaming at the top of our lungs to
each other..Then my uncle, Vincent, came in and said "You 2 boys are always at odds with each other..would you like to settle it?" Genn, who was then very young and athletic, laughed to himself and said, "Yeah, Sure Uncle Vincent If this little snot is up to it." I then, who was still growing kicked him in the shins and said "I'll beat you anywhere, anyday and anyhow." So then Uncle Vincent walked into the Great Hall of the Castle and motioned for us
to come in there..He handed us 2 swords and a shield each.."Here." he said. "Vent out your frustrations..If you want to kill each other...go ahead..it will end the arguments and make an easy path for the throne." Well we fought for a good 2 solid hours back and forth..My face was cut everywhere and my legs felt like jelly, not to mention the fact that every bone and muscle in my body was cut and ached horribly. Finally Genn, whose eyes began to dim
from the latest gash in his forehead snapped me hard across the cheek and I went sprawling across to floor. I laid there on the floor thinking if my own brother would kill me..As I heard him draw nearer I realized that Uncle Vincent was teaching us a lesson..If we didn't learn it one of us would die at the hands of the other..and if we did it would end most of the petty arguments..That lesson was that arguments are nothing to kill each other over or
harbor vengeful feelings, especially to family members. With that Genn was upon me and a sprung up surprising him..I lunged foreward and held my blade across my shield and pushed him into a nearby wall then I took my sword and looked into his eyes...There was the initial look of fear then the look of understanding..of what was to happen from now on..and understanding of the lesson..Then I plunged my sword foreward...and pinned him to the wall.
(Thought I would kill him eh?) Breathing Heavily, I looked from Uncle Vincent to Genn and explained what I thought Uncle Vincent was trying to explain.."Very Good Daelin..a fine display of swordsmanship and of thinking. Now That I think about it you both are very good fighters, maybe you get it from your father and I..and your grandfather, but Daelin, that reasoning..That's definatly from your father." He looked at me and smiled. "How would you 2
like to learn how to better yourselves?" I looked at Genn and Uncle Vincent with a questioning look..Genn seemed to look confused too because he stopped squirming to get unpinned and stared at Uncle Vincent. "You mean like, swordsmanship?" Genn asked. "Yes. You 1st Genn. Daelin still must stay here and learn all he can from your father, that reasoning will help you alot better than 3 feet of steel."
From then on father tutored me and sent me to the best schools in Dragonia. I learned alot. Now
that I think back though..it was pretty good. I learned eloquent speech, smart arse remarks, how to get out of sticky situations, and the latest updates in new math, sciences, and other good stuff like that :). After that I was nigh 18 and wondered what Genn was doing..So my father and mother finally consented to sending me to my Uncle Vincent's. When I 1st got there I noticed Samuel, my cousin, was home, for once. Samuel was then 23 about as old as
Genn. "Why are you here? Aren't you having fun wondering around being your father's prodigal son?" I asked. I never really liked Samuel he always wandered around. He never stayed home and watched over his parents. The original idea was for Samuel, Genn, and I to rule Dragonia together. But Samuel had other plans. "No. But I must admit Daelin. It's alot better than being a little intelectual royal snot." he sneered at me. I punched him hard in the
stomach and he keeled over..I walkd past him into the house and saw Genn standing there by Uncle Vincent..they were staring at something in the fire. "Wow this will turn out nice, Genn. You have a real hand here. Besides if you open a shop, the techniques I showed you will keep theives away." I stepped up quietly behind them and looked into the fire. Genn was turning a fresh blade over..he took it out of the fire and when he saw me as he turned
around he quickly dropped the blade to the floor and it bent out of shape..by the time I looked up from the floor, it couldn't have been more than a few seconds..really. Genn had a small dagger at my throat. "Who are you?" He asked. I stared right at him and said "Don't play stupid..stupid."He glared at me then his gaze turned warm "Daelin?" he asked. "No." replied. It's mom. Of course it's me" I gave him a warm hug and then Uncle Vincent. "Man.
Daelin you've grown into a fine young man. You must be killing the young ladies at home." said Uncle Vincent. "Well. either it's this or the castle. But their lined up. Dad wanted me to marry someone before I came here. But I thought I'd never get here if I do that so..." A few days after that Genn completed his training and left. I remember when he left I said, "Are you going back home?" and he said. "Why?", "If I go back hoem I'll never be able to
use these new lessons and techniques. I'll be cooped up in the castle." "What about another war?" I asked him. "That won't happen." Then I said, "Dad can't live forever. Why don't you just go back and have a wife and 1 son. Then you can leave." "And I'll be old." he said. "You're so worried about it, you go back." And with that he left. I see him occasionally. And when I return to Dragonia then we will sit down and make a permanant ruling plan. My
lesson's weren't as long as Genn's on the account of Uncle Vincent being nearly 50 and my "fabulous display of swordsmanship" he said. I learned all the techniques of every blade and the lessons of grappling, maneuvers, and evasion and defense. One night as the time for my leave was approaching my Uncle called me in and said.."Daelin, you go back home..Genn is there. Your father's time draws near..I can feel it..I can't make it much longer but If you
can come back here." I returned to Moranda and found my father on his deathbed..My mother was crying and Genn looked all out of place. We watched over him for a couple of days..On the night he died I was with him and he just started talking...1st it was to me. "Daelin..don't lie. You and Genn aren't staying in Moranda to rule are you?" he asked. I thought about it. "Dad..I haven't really thought about it..I'll talk to Genn later." "Damn you and your
Uncle. Swordsman always go looking for trouble..I was a swordsman and I took great pride in my country..enough to stay and rule it." he shot at me. "You've been in too much battle, seen too much. Me and Genn are young. I'm sure of myself. When I see the world I will return if Genn does or does not." I replied. "Genn...Genn he is stubborn he's like a young me.." he said. "You're like an older me..reasoning. But you both have the gift of the sword, I
can't take that away..if you leave..leave in peace..use your gift wisely." he smiled at me. "I will. I'll make sure Genn does too."I said. Later that night he started talking again..this time it was strange so I called Genn and my mother in.. "So it is time then?" my father said.. "Can I say goodbye to everyone?"..soon a strange thing happened a man in old dragonian armor appeared above my father, behind the man stood about 15 other men. "Come on
Anduin, my son. You have been chosen." the old man said. "Father, what will become of the kingdom? Neither Genn nor Daelin will stay.." my father said. "Patience." the old man, I assume he was my grandfather whom I've never seen, said. "Vincent will remain until he is also claimed.I have faith in my bloodline. When Vincent joins us..the country will be balanced for awhile living off the goodness of past times. After that all of them will return." he
continued. "Where have you seen this?" my father said. "The Dragon God says it is so..He also says for becoming loyal to this new clan the gift of immortality will be bestowed among your eldest. Come now Anduin there is much to be accomplished before we gaurd those who will become like us..and then we can gaurd the Power. And hold steadfast the great country we have built..then we will be able to be proud of our great land." With that final word from
my grandfather my father rose up and left in a flash of light with the men. My mother stood there bewildered, "He's a Dragonian Great now." she said. "What?" Genn and I asked her. "He gaurds the Dragonian Heroes..the great Power..he will guide the Dragonians with your grandfather and the others. They were thought to be a myth, only the strong of will and way could be chosen. Now I know why he was taken early." Genn and I stayed with mother the last
days of her life and when she died we saw the scene repeated except father took her away upon a white dragon. When mother died Genn gathered his things from the castle. "So, your really leaving?" I asked him. "Yes, I can't run a kingdom until I find out that I can take care of myself out in the world." he answered. I sighed and hugged him. "Take care." was all I could say.
After Genn left the castle I returned to Uncle Vincent's. I stayed there for a year and he ran Dragonia.
One day he said "Daelin, your 20, why don't you leave like Genn. If he finds his way you can find yours."
"Why?" I asked. "Genn will come back. If I leave what will happen to Dragonia?" "Nothing. You told me the story of your father and grandfather. They will guide Dragonia." "You too" I replied. "Come with me." he said at last. We walked for a couple of weeks to the castle, all the way at the bottom of the castle was a solid gold door with a large dragon encrested on it and a small hole at the bottom. "The end is here." Uncle Vincent said softly. "Here.
You'll need this" he lifted a gold amulet from his robes and placed it around my neck..it was inset in ivory with a great dragon on it at full wingspan. "Push it in the hole and turn it." he said. I did and the door slid apart. "It's the royal amulet..it opens all the locked doors..it has the spirit of the Dragonian Greats. You always said I was to become one too. I didn't believe, but Anduin and Father visited me in a dream last night. My time is
here. They said to entrust you with everything..You and Genn will be immortal. Genn, because the Dragon God did it as a favor to Anduin, but you, because you proved yourself to roam the earth as a Dragonian Great until the spiritual Dragonian Greats return. "I'm a Great too?" I said. Uncle Vincent nodded softly.He stepped into the cold room beyond the great door and I followed him, slightly stunned. A soft light glowed in the center of the room at
the altar. Uncle Vincent smiled slightly at the altar. He walked up to it and stood on one side and motioned me to the other. As I drew near I realized the light was coming from 2 great broadswords. One was gold-titanium and the other silver-titanium the both ended in jewel-studded hilts with crystal balls on the ends and on the hilts were intricate carved dragons and archaic letterings on the gold one the words "ANDUIN'S WRATH" and the silver one
said "THE WRAITH OF VINCENT". "Their "Wrath" and "Wraith" he said. "The gold one "Wrath" is your father's and the silver "Wraith" is mine. We had these swords when we stormed Torrent. They were said to be borne from the sword your grandfather had. And can return to that form at any time." He then said. "Daelin, one more thing before I go. You must go to RhyDin. A faraway country. Don't stop. Just go. There is an Arena there, There is a story of a
great crown and rings to those who prove themselves in that arena. You can claim something there. I know it. Here is a map...go!" he handed me the map and the instant after I took it he died. The next morning when I woke up there was a monstrous tatoo on my arm. It was a great dragon with words around it: "THE DRAGONIAN GREATS ROAM THE SPIRIT WORLDS. BUT THE GREAT WHO ROAMS THE EARTH WAITING FOR THEM IS FAR,FAR GREATER!!" These words burned in my
head. But to prove them I knew I had to journey to the fabled land of RHYDIN!!!~~~
::Daelin looks silently after you as you finish the book...silently he takes it up and places it under his arms silently walking away, no words, no sounds. Suddenly life is not the same anymore.::
Anduin, my son. You have been chosen." the old man said. "Father, what will become of the kingdom? Neither Genn nor Daelin will stay.." my father said. "Patience." the old man, I assume he was my grandfather whom I've never seen, said. "Vincent will remain until he is also claimed.I have faith in my bloodline. When Vincent joins us..the country will be balanced for awhile living off the goodness of past times. After that all of them will return." he
continued. "Where have you seen this?" my father said. "The Dragon God says it is so..He also says for becoming loyal to this new clan the gift of immortality will be bestowed among your eldest. Come now Anduin there is much to be accomplished before we gaurd those who will become like us..and then we can gaurd the Power. And hold steadfast the great country we have built..then we will be able to be proud of our great land." With that final word from
my grandfather my father rose up and left in a flash of light with the men. My mother stood there bewildered, "He's a Dragonian Great now." she said. "What?" Genn and I asked her. "He gaurds the Dragonian Heroes..the great Power..he will guide the Dragonians with your grandfather and the others. They were thought to be a myth, only the strong of will and way could be chosen. Now I know why he was taken early." Genn and I stayed with mother the last
days of her life and when she died we saw the scene repeated except father took her away upon a white dragon. When mother died Genn gathered his things from the castle. "So, your really leaving?" I asked him. "Yes, I can't run a kingdom until I find out that I can take care of myself out in the world." he answered. I sighed and hugged him. "Take care." was all I could say.
After Genn left the castle I returned to Uncle Vincent's. I stayed there for a year and he ran Dragonia.
One day he said "Daelin, your 20, why don't you leave like Genn. If he finds his way you can find yours."
"Why?" I asked. "Genn will come back. If I leave what will happen to Dragonia?" "Nothing. You told me the story of your father and grandfather. They will guide Dragonia." "You too" I replied. "Come with me." he said at last. We walked for a couple of weeks to the castle, all the way at the bottom of the castle was a solid gold door with a large dragon encrested on it and a small hole at the bottom. "The end is here." Uncle Vincent said softly. "Here.
You'll need this" he lifted a gold amulet from his robes and placed it around my neck..it was inset in ivory with a great dragon on it at full wingspan. "Push it in the hole and turn it." he said. I did and the door slid apart. "It's the royal amulet..it opens all the locked doors..it has the spirit of the Dragonian Greats. You always said I was to become one too. I didn't believe, but Anduin and Father visited me in a dream last night. My time is
here. They said to entrust you with everything..You and Genn will be immortal. Genn, because the Dragon God did it as a favor to Anduin, but you, because you proved yourself to roam the earth as a Dragonian Great until the spiritual Dragonian Greats return. "I'm a Great too?" I said. Uncle Vincent nodded softly.He stepped into the cold room beyond the great door and I followed him, slightly stunned. A soft light glowed in the center of the room at
the altar. Uncle Vincent smiled slightly at the altar. He walked up to it and stood on one side and motioned me to the other. As I drew near I realized the light was coming from 2 great broadswords. One was gold-titanium and the other silver-titanium the both ended in jewel-studded hilts with crystal balls on the ends and on the hilts were intricate carved dragons and archaic letterings on the gold one the words "ANDUIN'S WRATH" and the silver one
said "THE WRAITH OF VINCENT". "Their "Wrath" and "Wraith" he said. "The gold one "Wrath" is your father's and the silver "Wraith" is mine. We had these swords when we stormed Torrent. They were said to be borne from the sword your grandfather had. And can return to that form at any time." He then said. "Daelin, one more thing before I go. You must go to RhyDin. A faraway country. Don't stop. Just go. There is an Arena there, There is a story of a
great crown and rings to those who prove themselves in that arena. You can claim something there. I know it. Here is a map...go!" he handed me the map and the instant after I took it he died. The next morning when I woke up there was a monstrous tatoo on my arm. It was a great dragon with words around it: "THE DRAGONIAN GREATS ROAM THE SPIRIT WORLDS. BUT THE GREAT WHO ROAMS THE EARTH WAITING FOR THEM IS FAR,FAR GREATER!!" These words burned in my
head. But to prove them I knew I had to journey to the fabled land of RHYDIN!!!~~~
::Daelin looks silently after you as you finish the book...silently he takes it up and places it under his arms silently walking away, no words, no sounds. Suddenly life is not the same anymore.::
