What is Good about the DoS

Post by DoS Archive » Tue May 25, 2004 10:56 am

This is just a list of all the things I love about DoS.

1) The compitition. I love being able to fight for fun or for reason.
2) I enjoy the people within it, weather I love or hate them.
3) The challenges. I may not agree with some of them, I may think someone a fool for Challenging, but I'll always enjoy watching them.
4) The friendships. The people I've met and befriended though all the days of DoS'ing.
5) The histories. Reading about Legends in the Ring, in the books or from the older Duelers.
6) The arguments. As much as they are hated, they pull together the DoS in as many ways and being 'united'... and I enjoy participating in one as much as the next.
7) Newbies. Fun to teach, fun to taunt, fun to watch and fun to ignore.
8) Oldies. Can't deny that you don't snicker whenever Dal calls himself a guy 'headed for the Rhy-Din old folks home.'
9) The Newspaper. Keeps you up-to-date with all the stuff you'll never need to know. ;-) >jk<
10) Out of Realm talk... I believe you all know what I'm talking about here.
11) BRK.
12) The Ranks. Source of freedom and a source of controversy.
13) People who complain. All they are really saying is "I love this place but I don't know how to express my feelings"
14) I love Winning.
15) I also love losing with a laugh.
16) Those who have left us, for whatever reason.
17) The stories we can all tell and have told.
18) The RDI's... Golden, AJ, Brian, Helix, Luthien, Cyg, Collie, Poisen Bridgette, Fish, Reiver, Xeno, Nessa, Scad, Alais, Clo, Leto, Mathia, Nevada, Tass... and those whom I've forgotten your great service to us, please don't hurt me for forgetting... and those who have served in the past
19) The lovey dovey couples, too numerous to name.
20) And the one thing I love most about the DoS is that it exists.
21) I also love the fact that you will rely here to remind me everything I've forgoten. ;-)

This was inspired by all the comments and mud slinging that have been made.

::Wanders in and looks at the boards, smiles at Damien's look at the good DoS has to offer::

Damien, dear.... the list looks pretty complete to me. Just one thing missing, and many may not see it as a good thing.......the heartache we feel when dear friends move on. The reason this is a good thing, my friends, is that it means we've connected... truly connected. And that makes it all worth while.............

(By the way....maximize the window when you read this....trust me.)

What's good about the DoS....hmm...

Well, I've got a few reasons, too.

1) I'm here. Pretty simple, eh?

2) The serving boys!!! Yeah, love those guys! Hubie et al.

3) Elijah *isn't* here....er....well, at least, I don't think so. Never can tell with that guy.
::Fondly looks at his Ecore boomerang he got from Tassle's dueling souveniers::

4) Hey, where else can you just hack people up with big swords and axes, and not get pulled off to jail for
it? Hell, no one even looks twice at ya.

5) People who duel big, bad, tough guys with huge swords, armed only with hairbrushes and ice cream
scoops...and win. Damn, I love seeing that. ::Smiles::

6) Come on, where else have you seen an Overgnome, eh?

7) I'm here. ::NodNod::

8) And the last reason I think the DoS is wonderful.........Adonai!! Why, you ask? Well...who else is that
much fun to pick on, eh? Ya know we all love ya, Ooozey-elle.

I'll second that one, Jona! What fun would the arena be if Billy Ray didn't come kick in the door from time to time?
