Sara had spent a pleasant evening with Andrew at the Rose Garden. Where they looked at the stars and talked a bit. He walked with her through the forest to her small cottage. After a short good-bye, she went into the cottage, leaning back against the door as she closed it. Content to just stand there, her eyes closed retaining thoughts of the pleasant fragrance of all the roses,
just like the garden at Lakehome.

Her thoughts suddenly shattered by a shiver along her spine, something was not right within the cottage. As her eyes sprung open, she noticed the cottage was oddly dark. Her father being human usually had one or two small lanterns lit. As her eyes scanned the room she saw heat patterns that she didn't recognize.

"Father?" Sara really hoped that he was there and safe, but she was only answered by silence.

In the eerie quietness, Sara felt as if she was being watched. Instictively, she grabbed the hilt of her sword and stepped about the room, stumbling into furniture that seemed to be out of place.

As she maneuvered her way about the disheveled furniture, the feeling of being watched became more intense. Yet she could make out no figures and heard no sounds at all. She reached the door of her father's room, as she stepped into the room a sharp pain shot through the back of her head. She crumpled to the floor not knowing what was to become of her.

Gauriel had late night dinner plans with Marit. They spent the evening chatting up a storm, as they often do. The sun was starting to make its morning appearance when Gauriel finally left her company.
With a light chuckle he asked, "Whatever will folks think of me leaving your place at the wake of dawn?"
Marit's light laughter brought a pleased smile to Gauriel's face. She was a daughter to him and what others thought was of no consequence to them. He always had a pleasant time in Marit's company and it saddened him a bit to think that he was not nearly as close to his beloved Sarana.
Shaking off that brief thought, Gauriel decided to head for the marketplace. He didn't wish to go back to the cottage he shared with his daughter. Sarana was likely on her way out for the day and probably hadn't noticed his absence during the night. She had a tendency to stay out late and leave early in the morning. A few months ago, they had argued about Llen and many harsh words were said between them. The closeness that Gauriel now
had with Marit, was something he had shared with Sarana before the dispute.
As he reached the marketplace, his pleasant mood had become rather gray. He walked about the different venders, not really seeing any or their wares.
The day passed away quickly and Gauriel decided to get a room at the inn, rather than make the long walk back to the cottage.
The exhaustion of staying up the whole night had finally caught up with him as he laid on the soft bed. He slept fitfully, dreams of his daughter and the argument plagued him.
A knock at the door, brought him out of his troubled dream. He quickly dressed and opened the door.
"The lady Marit requests your presence in the Arena as soon as possible, M'lord"
Gauriel tossed the messenger a gold coin and thanked him.
Gauriel was confused by the message and the fact that it was still night, thinking that he had just fallen asleep, something must be wrong. He quickly gathered his things and rushed over to the arena.
