Roland lay awake that night, the elven Queen cuddled against his side apon their comfortable bed, an arm drapped over his midsection as she slept peacefully. The dozing Luthien left the former mercenary to his thoughts, unable to indulge in the sleeping bliss that his expecting love seemed to be enjoying.
He hoped her dreams were pleasant.
The Baron's eyes mildly concentrated on the rise and fall of her chest, his thoughts however, were elsewhere. It was the evening of his two month aniversary, two months since he had claimed the twelfth Duel of Swords baronial ring and declared the new ring's fate. Without much of a doubt his choice was loyal, loyal to the man who had sent his career on a more successful path. For that, he was greatful, and only hoped his loyalty and
given friendship to the elder duelist would account for the teachings he shared.
A few moments past as he continued to ponder, his thoughts moving to his recent problem with blowing duels. He'd been so distracted the past few months, and his recorded suffered. Darting into the next move on a whim, as if he were merely shadow dueling... usually after his opponent clocked him with a suprising high cut, did he realize just what was he doing. Time. He supposed thats all the situation needed. He was a Baron, and so
long as he kept it that way, he didn't have much use for wins over losses. Just so long as he enjoyed what he was doing, without offending anyone intentionally.
Had he not been so tired, or under the Queen's touch, he would have shrugged into the next thought. Andur. He'd came in that night, earlier than expected actually... but he supposed that was a trait to be expected from Andur. His son had grown into a most impressive man over the years. He often wondered who he took after more, Dia or himself. Which lead to how Andur would take to Riley, the street child whom he had taken in a few
days following that whole mess with the Salsinger.
In days of past, when Roland and Andur would find time to meet, however short it may be, Roland barely took time to asses his son. He supposed his recent career change had something to do with it. The world did seem a bit different from the eyes of a military leader. Sure he'd lead military campaigns before, but that had been ages ago, back when Crimson Fury was a rebel movement and not a Dueling Team, and saluting may have gotten
you shot down by an enemies arrow.
Suddenly wairy with thoughts of the past, Roland finally closed his eyes. Settling back in against the much to comfortable bed, a small shift causing the elven at his side to deepen her cuddle. Her thin blue garment she wore tickled his bare chest as she instinctively shifted to accomidate.
He hoped her dreams were pleasant.
