Percy was lying in a cell, he didn't know where. He had been knocked out, and brought here. He remembered that. He remembered seeing Sara run. He hoped she made it. For some reason, thinking she made it made him feel much better. He had it bad, he did. The question was why. Sure, she was beautiful. But he had known lots of beautiful women, even if she was more beautiful than any of the others. Rhy, Khrys, Bridgette, and Nyte were
beautiful too. But he didn't feel the way about them he did about Sara. Well, he did like Khrys an awful lot. But she was married. No chance there. Damn! He really hoped Sara got away.
Of course, the whole thing was stupid in the first place. The lawn of the Mayor's Palace was hardly the place for anything intimate. But the idea had seemed so good at the time. Now he was a prisoner.
It occurred to him. He couldn't have been arrested.
There were no guards like that in town.
So it had to be something else.
But what?
EDGE!!!!!
Then why was he still alive? The assassin would have killed him right away. Unless he wanted something from him. But what?
What did he have?
Of course!!!
The treaty! Di Lorca wanted him dead, but he also wanted to get his hands on the only existing copy of the Treaty of Marseilles. Then he could alter it. Or destroy it. Or whatever else he wanted. But first he had to have it.
Well, it had seemed like a good idea at the time.
To Be Continued
It Seemed Like a Good Idea At the Time

He had been lying in this cell since Thursday. He knew that. He wasn't entirely sure what day today was though. He thought it was Saturday, but because of the absence of windows, he couldn't tell for sure if it wasn't Friday or Sunday. He was pretty sure he was right, though. He had been keeping track of his feeding schedule. He was pretty sure that they were feeding him twice a day, and that this was Saturday. He was also pretty sure
that he was about to be fed again. So he continued to pretend to be asleep. He decided that he did not feel very sorry for whoever was going to feed him today. They got themselves into this mess all by themselves. Whatever happened to them, happened.
He heard the cell door slowly swing open. He heard the guard begin to set the tray on the small table. He moved.
His attack was so quick the guard didn't even see him coming, it seemed. He quickly grabbed the man's right arm, as by the way he ore his blade he appeared right handed. With a quick pivot he twisted it behind the man's back, a short scream being audible. That would bring more. He cursed. No longer worried about noice he hit the man's arm in just the right spot to break it in four different places. Then he drew the guard's dagger, and stabbed
the man in the throat. All this happened before the guard even had time to use his unbroken left arm to defend himself.
He let the body slide slowly to the ground. He took the man's sword, drawing it slowly, inspecting it. It wasn'tt he equal of Rhindon, but it was a decent blade. He slipped put into the hallway, his mind hunting for other minds, other thoughts. Before long he picked one up. The man was afraid he was trying to get out. Conveniently, he was thinking about just where the prisoner would have to go from his cell to get out. Percival softly thanked
the man under his breath, then quickly moved down the hallway in that direction.
Percival didn't know how far he had gone before ran into the guards, but it had to have been one quarter to one have the distance out, he was sure. They drew their blades and charged, just like they were being paid to do. A shame no one ever told them what a bad decision it was to charge a Grandmaster of the Duel of Swords, a man soon to be Warlord and who would be competing in the Tourney if God chose. He hoped they had all made their peace
with whatever gods they worshiped, but it really wasn't his concern.
He parried a quick swing from the man in the lead, riposting so fast he didn't have time to respond. No Ward of Gondar here. The man took the point of the sword in the throat, and staggered to the wall, gurgling. The second man was already thrusting, so Percival merely whirled to the side and ham strung him with a swift stroke. No need to kill the man now. The third and fourth were not much of a challenge. A swift set of cuts drove the one into
the other, and a clean thrust finished him. The sole survivor was tangled up in his companion's corpse, and a single cut decapitated him. Percival ran on down the hallway.
Then he saw it. The exact miracle he needed.
A window.
To the outside.
Looking over the moat.
Gripping the stolen blade, he smashed the window. What sort of idiot put a window in a castle in the first place?
He was out the window in an instant, hitting the moat clean, and swimming to the far side. He was free.
Now he just had to get back to town. Fortunately, he recognized the old castle as he took a quick look back.
He knew where he was.
He raced in the direction of the town.
Of Course There is Gonna Be More, he will have to find out that Hunter is locked up. Silly readers.

Having found out of Percy's 'mishap', Hunter is found in front of the Mayors building searching for cluse of to where he might have been taken. The trail was fairly clear to him, clumps of grass leading away from the scene from the lawn, including big footprints with the tracks of dragging as well, so he decides to follow them.

Twisting around the many alleys and streets of Rhyndin, Hunter makes his way outside of town, the trail of grass gone now, but the dragging prints still lingering. Having gotten a ways from the town, he decides it would be safer to stay hidden as he searches. Still following the trail he comes up to a large structure which appears somewhat to be a castle. Looking around it trying to gauge a way in, he spots two guards in front and one to the
back. He hastilly leaps out of the shadows, knocking out the back guard and entering the castle.
As Hunter enters the castle, a large dog quickly attacks him, barking. A few guards rush in at that point, drawing arms. Hunter, trying to locate Percy, and to keep him from getting executed, just goes quietly, the dog having torn a shred of his cloak already, he didn't care to fend off that beast as well.
Brought before who seems to be a wizard, he quickly asks "What did you do with Percival?"
The wizard responds "Silence!" and a guard belts him. "What are you doing in my home?!" the wizard asks.
Coughing out, Hunter tries to respond, "I'm, <Pant>, Searching for a friend and have, <Pant>, reason to believe you have him captive.
The wizard yells "Why that's preposturous that you would declare such a thing! What reason do you have to believe that?!"
"I saw tracks of someone being dragged off to here." He answers.
"You saw tracks of my dog dragging home a large bone!" And he points over to a bone. "See that?" "Does that look like a man?"
"Well...n" Hunter is interupted by the wizard, "Take him away!"
Now in a dungeon with very strong bars, he waits and wonders what Percy shall do, having already tried magic to escape, he lays on the rock ground, trying to think of a way to get out and falls into a quiet sleep.

Hunter jumps at the sound of the dog barking. It seemed like it was late, other than the sleeping guard, it was dark and quiet outside. Realizing he had fallen asleep awhile back, he was still a bit worried about Percy. "Damn, I gotta get outta here." he thought. Just then he noticed the guard and snickers at the simple target. Realizing magic wouldn't work in this case, all he had to do was reach through the bars and strangle the poor
guard...not a problem.
As the guard sinks to the ground, he snags the keys trying one after the other in the lock. Upon reaching the correct key, two guards come from the his left, both lacking the space needed to draw their swords. Hunter simply takes them down with a well placed kick to the lower stomach, not too concerned about them but moreso at the three in single file comming with daggers down the other hallway.
A quick leap over the two temporarily downed guards leaves him home free for a set of stairs out of the dungeon accept for one thing...the dog. Looking down at his torn cloak, he glares at the dog as it charges. It bares its razor teeth, growling and attempts to strike, only succeeding in getting a quick knee to the jaw. The job is finished with a mammoth blow to the skull but with little time to spare as the guards had cleared the bodies by
then.
Hunter takes off running for the door, the guards seconds behind him he snags one of the torches on the wall. Moving about half way up the winding stairwell, he stops and leans against the wall. The first unfortunate guard that comes around the corner gets smacked across the face with the flaming torch and he rolls back into his comrades. With no more opposition, Hunter quickly makes his way up the stairs to the room he was in before. He throws
the torch back down the stairs and makes his way through the front door, knocking two guards off the posted bridge they stood on and off into the shadows.
