Nighttime...
Since the dawn of time, all creatures, all beings have used the night time to bring out their deepest thoughts. Maybe it is something about the quietness, the tranquility of the night. Whatever the case, it is the night time again that finds the dwarf pondering things.
He walks the battlements of the massive fortress set inside the large mountain, once long ago ruled by the evil red dragon Infyrana. He dismissed the guards so that he could be alone with his thoughts. Part of his mind goes over the plans the engineers and clerics make for the moving of the mountain into the Country Ratae. His advance scouts discovered a deep vein of ore running through the northwest part of the country
and after securing permission from his brother, the ruler of said Country, he planned on moving the entire mountain to rest within his brothers borders. Moving the mountain wasn't hard at all, the dragon had shifted the massive mountian from plane to plane, never resting in the same spot twice, but it would take all of his clerics to do once, what it took the lone dragon to do. His mind though was weighed with a different problem this night.
What was it about him, he wondered. He had come to the Duels at the behest of his longtime friend Gnort, he had toiled through the ranks and had risen to capture a Baron's ring, something he held with as much honor as the crown he wore, ruling his kingdom. That wasn't the problem,...it was women...it always seemed to come back to women.
It started with his wife, they were happy, he looked forward to a long and wonderfull life with her, then she disappeared, he waited and waited, but she never returned.
Then it started happeneing, each woman he took an intrest in, each woman he started to grow feelings for, they would disappear from the realm, or go back to an ex boyfriend.
Then came Dhria, he started to like her, started to grow feelings for her, but just as those fellings started, she too disappeared, he hadn't seen her in near a week now.
He looked out into the night sky and sighed, trying to figure out just what was wrong with him.
