The commoner quirks a wry smile as she wanders into the basement. "First tis th' Shadow Lord, Garth an now tis Lyon. Tis th' Phoenix House again rises from th' ashes, Marcus." The youngest serving kid darts behind the bar preparing the betting slips. Al and Hubie grin impishly at each other over the checker board as Nemo drops two stacks of plates into the sink.

Debates, grins, ponders, thinks, prepares to write, stops, grins again, chuckles, raises the pen again, stops, shakes his head smiling, then does write.
Lyon, Ajay, best of luck to the both of you.
Dae, Lyon, two from Phoenix challenging. Oh, I wonder what the general public is going to think about this.

Would that work for me too, Seamus? I've tried just about everything else to get a spot on the council. Heh.

Hmmm. I wouldn't mind HDT having another seat on the Council or another ring, but I don't think we should take Seamus's ring or seat. He is a sensible and intelligent sort, and he tends to do what he thinks is right as opposed to what he thinks is popular or what he thinks someone else wants him to do. That is a good quality in a Baron whether one always agrees with him or not.
Hmmm. I don't want to name names, so I don't think I will mention the rings we should take.

Please don't keep us in suspense. If you're going to mention it, have the courage to go all out. Who's rings should you take? I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to know.

Well Lucian, now that you mention it, I can list a few. I posted my intent to challenge Damon Black near the beginning of next cycle not long ago. That would sort of bring up when candidate, neh? And I would have to say that if you beat Jaycy it would only be right if she or one of her friends beat you. Just because I don't like to see my friends lose. Silly, I admit, but I am like that sometimes. I could probably come up with a name or two more
if really pressed. I'd have to work at it, I admit. I am much happier than I would like to admit with some of the Barons on the Council.
There, I said it. I am happy with some of the Loyal Barons, even. Who expected to hear me say THAT?

::reads over the stack of missives and chuckles at a few, and frowns slightly at one, and responds to most of them::
Rixy,
I'm only slightly surprised it took people this long to bring up mention of an HDT conspiracy... hehehe, we're out to take over the world, didn't ya know that? =)
As for you getting a seat on the Council... like, I said before, yer time *will* come. ;P

Seamus,
Can we trade Rings? I've always liked being #1. ;)

Percy,
As much as I appreciate the show of support, would you judge the worth of a Baron by which friend they challenge? I have no doubt Lucian would carry himself as befitting the position and responsibilities, should he win. I personally feel it would be a bit of an insult that should I lose, someone feels an obligation to "avenge" my loss. Perhaps I'm wrong in my thinking, but would it be right to remove an otherwise worthy Baron, simply because they
unseated a friend? All I ask is you think long and hard your reasons for challenging before doing so. Again, this is not meant as a personal attack, but I feel it would be wrong to Lucian, myself, and the rank itself to attempt to unseat someone on the simple basis you're a friend of mine. Judge not his worth by who he challenges, but how he acts, should he win.
Simply,
Jaycy

Luc,
I feel that Percival (initially) chose not to name names for the sake of preventing some more attacks to be established.
If I'm wrong, I'm sure I'll be corrected.

Lyon,
Skill and honor to you this challenge and always, m'lord.
AJay,
Kick some arse, hon! I have faith you'll do a wonderful job in defending, and wish you nothing but the best. Skill and honor be with you, as it has for so long.
