The study was dim in the slow breaking dawn of the autumn morning. The grey light of the cloud hidden sun filtering through the arrow silt window and illuminating the room with a unobtrusive, low light.
Adonai stepped inside the room, stripped to his waist and lounging his his soft lambskin bedpants, stopping for a moment to run a hand along the oak book shelves that lined the walls of the room. His pride and joy, the collected works of 26 eons of literature, from the crudest scrolls to modern books of arcane lore. He was sure that the collection had no match in the realm, with the possible exception of the library of Moralitor the
Black, who had the seeming ability to collect works not only lost in time, but from beyond this plane of existance as well.
He slowly perused the shelves, feeling a need for something to read. Though he had read them all before, but he was of the habit of reading them over again. The passing of time, knowledge less important was lost to the wiles of chronolgy. And he was ever a scholar, no matter his standing in life, be it god, warrior, lover or destroyer.
With a smile, he pulled a leather bound book from the shelves, dusting off its cover with a smile, it was Old *Charcoal* Abraxa's Gods, A Spotters Guide. A fun piece of work that usual provided Adonai with no end of humor.
"Sometimes, " Adonai mused. " humans think too much." Grinning and shaking his head. He had liked old Abraxa's, but found him somewhat addled. Which was probably due to the frequent lightning strikes the old man absorbed. It was funny, Adonai thought, as he headed to his reading chair near the port window, every now and then men would start questioning the existance of gods, wondering if they truely existed. Then there would be nothing
but a smoking pair of sandals where the would be philosopher was and a lightning bolt with a note attached to it that said *We Do*. Humans had funny gods...thats was for sure.
He happened to glance at his desk in passing, having all intention to settle back in the large wingback chair and waste half the morning reading when he saw it. Sitting clearly in the middle of his desk was a piece of rolled parchment, sealed with a black wax seal.
Adonai stopped for a moment, and set his book to the reading table near the chair and walked over to the desk. After looking at it for another moment and discerning no enchantment on the scroll itself, he reached out and picked it up from the desk and broke the wax seal.
As he unrolled it, there was no text. Just a well done drawing of a silver unicorn on a black shield. He turned, setting himself on the desk and considered the drawing for a moment.
He set the parchment back to the desk and rubbed his hands together. He wasn't completely sure of the meaning of the missive....but he knew who it was from.
He looked around the room for a moment and then headed out of the study to his room to dress, pulling on his black horseleather travel clothes in haste and quickly opening a rift to another land.
There were things to be done, and answers to be sought. His reading would have to wait.

((Author's note; This is a story line I'm just writing up for the hell of it for the fact that there seems to be alot less of them these days and alot more bull puckey on the boards. Anyone can join in and develop the SL as long as the original author is notified of intention to do so. And other than the obvious second party as yet.....that means YOU!))

He stepped out of the rift onto the cobblestone streets of RhyDin town in the midmoring. The dust of travelers and horses high in the midmorning sun as the sounds of a city that was alive assaulted his eardrums.
He took his time striding down the streets, smiling to passerbys that gave him wide berth because of his size, heading towards the northeast quadrant of the city, where the more powerful guilds and houses kept their estates.
Adonai was curious as to the meaning of the missive. The current politics of the realm had engendered a situation which caused all manner of enemies to lose their eneminity for each other, but the arrival of what so obviously was an invitation from the King of Questrion had been unexpected. And of that....what was it an invitation to?
There was, in the past, no love lost between the DragonLord and his former ally the King of Questrion. The original alliance had been a good one, Adonai's military mind accenting the struggle to wrest the land of Questrion from the hands of Major SSaRk and return it to the rightful king. But after the falling out the DragonLord had turned to the persuance of the destruction of his former ally, and had nearly succeeded.
He shook his head, walking down the large avenue into the nobles district. His feelings about his actions of the past with Questrion not very prideful. Rage often ruled him, and his emotions were something more real than any human feeling. He had tried to destroy them...and had not the King and his minions retreated from the onslaught....he may very well had.
"What does Valmion want?" The Valheru mused to himself, making his way into the large, park like area the most powerful house maintained manors at. He looked down at his waist, his short sword belted at his side, assuring him he would at least protect himself should the need arise.
He stopped at the gates of the massive manor house that Valmion maintained in RhyDin Towne, staying just out of sight of the guardhouse just inside the gates while he thought over his options. After a moment he drew in his will and released it slowly in the direction of the guard house with a single quiet word.
"Sleep...." Adonai said, his will releasing slowly as to attempt to keep the Black Mage Moralitor from hearing its use.
With the guards asleep, Adonai edged inside the compound and melted into the trees on the grounds, fully determined to surveil the manor house before setting foot anywhere inside of it.

He had taken his time surveilling the manor house itself from as many angles as he could. Nothing as yet had set his awareness awry.
The night was coming, the day having fled before his intensive scrutiny of the manor house of Questrion with no results. The guards were lax, far from what he would expect should the King of Questrion feel the need to entrap him.
With the feeling of security he gave up his secluded hiding place in the small grove of trees outside the manor and walked up the short cobblestoned trail to the main entry of the manor house.
"Ere now...." a mail clad guard said, noting the approach of the DragonLord. "Who be you and who let you in 'ere eh?"
Adonai straightened his heretofore stealthy stance and addressed the man.
"I am Adonai Uziel, DragonLord of Rhydin," and then, unrolling the parchment he had found on his desktop and brandishing it at them. "..and I believe your lord, King Valmion expects me."
The guard captian sputtered for a moment and then waved a hand at his corporal. "Go an get young prince Arlingond,....or the mage....annaone....I willna waste the kings time of this man if'n tis not his will."
The young corporal left hurriedly as Adonai bristled, ready for whatever may happen.

The guard was not away long before he came back leading a rather large man dressed in black leather armour overlaid with fine silver mail. Adonai recognized the warrior immediatly and stepped forth to greet him.
"Ah, Breunis Sans Pite I believe," the Valheru said as he stepped forward to greet the former Black Knight of Camelot. Breunis chuckled softly as he extended his hand to Adonai in greeting. "M'lord Valmion has been expecting you mate, follow me", Breunis said as they shook hands. Adonai nodded and followed Breunis to the front door of the manor house.
"And just who might that be," one gaurd asked the other as Adonai and Breunis disappeared through the front door of the manor house. "That be the infamous Dragon Lord of RhyDin and I believe it hearlds the fact that Questrion Manor will start to become interesting once more," the second gaurd replied, patting the first on the back and then heading back to his post.
"I believe we will find Valmion in the study," Breunis said to Adonai as the two of them moved down the main hall that led to the tavern area of Questrion Manor.
