Retrieving the Mist Bane

Galin moved quickly throught the cavern, wincing at the loud clicking of his boots on the hard rock floor for he didn't want to attract the beast's attention. He managed to muster a small, nervous smile.

"Maybe it's not here," he said to comfort himself. "Maybe it left, yeah it probably left the Mist Bane alone and ungarded" Galin sighed, knowing perfectly well this couldn't be true.

Finally, he reached a large room in the cavern and he noticed it had a frightening resemblance to an arena. He looked to the other side of the chamber and gasped at what he saw. There on a platform was what he had come for, the Mist Bane. Galin drew Disrupter and headed off, first at a trot and then at an all out sprint, to the platform. Upon grapping the stone a shiver went down his spine.

Galin turned to see the creature, looking quite angry, standing behind him. The beast resembled a dragon in some aspects, but it was hideous unlike the majestic look of a dragon. Moving quickly to catch the beast off guard he raised his hand and a bolt of pure Mana rushed towards the creature.

Galin looked in horror as the beast showed it special ability by turning to mere mist, the bolt going straight through it and rocketing off into oblivion. He cursed silently and readied Disrupter to strike. Waiting for the creature to comit so it wouldn't turn to mist, he circled it. As it lunged forward, Galin flipped onto it's back and burried his blade. The creature screemed in pain and then it ceased to exist. In a bright flash it was gone.
Galin sighed his relief and headed back the way he came with the Mist Bane in hand.
