Good folks of RhyDin Towne
It was my pleasure once again to bear witness to the ancient right of challenge this 30th day of the 4th month. This night did bring out the old and new alike with the Overlord choosing to test the Baroness, Jaycynda Ashleana with none other than RhyDin's own Cocksure Braggart, Billy Ray Karnafexx. As if one sap gloved duelist wasn't enough, Jaycy chose Jesse , I wanna be BRK when I grow up, Troyan as her champion. Well it seems the young lad had
the stuff it takes as he bested the warlord Karnafexx, 5.5-3 in 11 rounds, clearing the way for the Baroness to challenge the Overlord.
The match was as follows
BRK v Jesse
1 LC HC 1
1 SH FSS 1
2 LC FDU 1
2 TH SH 2
2 LC CP 3
2 FSS SH 3
3 FDU LP 3
3 FSS LC 4
3 SH FDU 4
3 FCP SS 4.5
3 SS LC 5.5
On to the main event :)
The Overlord tested the Baroness' knowledge of the rules before stepping into the ring. He toyed with the idea of setting the event for the 2 weeks he is allowed. After the test was over they did step into the ring and he was given a run for his money. The Baroness came to duel and duel they did.
Dex stepped fancy in one to avoid her parry round, 1 for Dex
The pair turned parrys, fancy round for Dex, fancy cross for Jaycy
Dex looked for thrust, stop hitting nothing as Jaycy cut low and scored.
A simple sidestep by Dex was into the path of Jaycy's reversed blade and the lead was hers 2-1
With a patented Darelir, Jaycy furthered her lead to 3-1, low cutting the Overlord's stop hit once again.
Fearing thrust, Jaycy tried to stop hit, but was clipped by Dex's high cut.
Dex turns a fancy round parry that traps Jaycy's low cut and brings the match to a 3 - 3 tie
Jaycy gets agressive now, lunging in with a thrust she misses as the fancy stepping Dex manages to elude her. Lead to Dex 4-3
Dex swings high missing the fancy ducking Baroness and it became a sudden death event. 4 all in 9 rounds.
Dex sees the high cut coming and ducks with the expertise of a master, he avoids her blade and secures his crown, 5 to 4 in 10 rounds.
Let it me noted, this defense came a mere 28 days from the date he took the crown from the 30th Overlord, Cristian De Oro.

Well won Dex and well fought Jaycy. It was a great match. All in all, I am very pleased with the results. You both did honor to yourselves and each other with your dance. Well done, both of you.

Dex,
Congratulations on a great comeback and excellent defense of your title.
Jaycy,
Very well fought, and very well done, no matter what anybody says.
Jesse,
Congrats on the new title of DoS badass.
Billy,
You're still the head badass.
I must say, that was one of the most entertaining overlord challenges I've ever wittnessed.

::stares at Nych's post for a second..torn between two thoughts..anyone standing near the cork then would have heard muttered curses and some praises coming from his throat::
Billy Ray, eh? That cocksure braggart always was a defender o the crowns...I wonder when he'll go for one..::reads a little further and smiles::
Jesse? Ah well...I 'uppose that Diamond on his finger gave him a little more to brag about than BRK, he won't shut up fer weeks now..
::frowns reading the last bit, forced now to make a decision::
Jaycy,
Well battled...let no man/woman say that you did not honor yourself during the weeks ensuing this challenge. I must apologize for thinking a few things within my own mind as a friend and Housemate..but I 'ope to remedy this soon. Tis a shame though...
::writes another note to Dexter::
Overlord Montoya,
Well..'defended' Well fought to both you and your champion..but I feel we need to discuss a few things, I will catch up to you.

Overlord Condextint Dexter Montoya
An excellent and honorable defense.
Jona
PS: Madame Ashleana, for one who didst declare she dinna hold with a Baron what dinna defend herself, thee right quickly acquiesed in permitting the Warlord, Jesse Troyan ta stand for thee, Right interesting though expected, since thee ast e'er adjust thine stance and views ast seems to suit thee. T'was pleasure watching the Overlord best thee, Madame. May thee know sorrow and shame until the day thee nae longer aire bearer of the Third.
PPS: Jesse, thee hae made nae secret of yuir dislike fer Dex, yet in truth I must say I am disappointed thee wouldst champion such ast Madame Ashleana.

Madame Starfare,
I do believe that Jaycy had to allow the Warlord Jesse Troyan to stand in for her. If you had been here a previous night, you might know why. The Baroness and the Warlord did make a wager (I'll leave the stakes off these boards for the better interest of the other patrons). The outcome: the Warlord Jesse Troyan did win that duel, therefore, I do believe that he claimed the right to take the stance as he did.
Regards,
Bane

Jona,
I would rather not freely announce the conditions which were put forth on the night of the wager(s). I come here not to censure anyone, rather, I try and bring together in accord. I grant that the bets were inappropriate and improper, but sometimes it happens and I, nor anyone else, can stop such occurences. If you would like to discuss things in a more private forum, I will speak with you on the subject, but it seems that you already know the
information for which you seek.
Respectfully submitted,
Bane

You wanna know the deal? You got it.
Collie was shootin' her mouth off as usual, so to prove a point that she "wasn't gonna back down from me" we dueled. She set the stakes. I won, and so now she's my beer servant and 'yes woman' until the 16th of May.
As for Jaycy, as usual she thought she was tough, so she tried to step in and do something to get me back for the match with Collie, or something like that. Again, like there was ever any doubt, I won. And what happened to Jaycy? Well, with some minor exceptions, she's my personal slave until the 16th. Don't like? Sucks to be you. I used my power because of the bet to force her to let my interecede if she got tested. If you wanna know why, just go
look at the rules for Renegade challenges and their champions. You people can't be that stupid, I'm sure you'll figure it out. Later, suckers.

Personally, I don't see what da gripe with Jaycy is. I highly doubt she asked fer a intercession match over a best of 3. Fact of da matter is Dex sought ta test Jaycy and she placed her own champion ahead as well. Had BRK beaten Jesse, Jaycy would have had ta pass both da test and da Overlord, but BRK didn't win and she got a shot at da Overlord as originally planned. If yer gripe is with intercession in general, go bug Dex. Ta use
a rather childish phrase..."He started it".
