His body went into convulsions, as his eyes fluttered. Then, all was silent within his body. The damage was done once more. He couldn't explain why it happened, but it did. A new identity was born. Born from the inner thoughts of his mind. The dreams turned into reality. Alex was no more.... Jarem was born.....
Again he woke up in the Outback. Strange how it seems it always happens this way. When Alex blinked his eyes into existence several months back, it was in the Outback. And now as the body laid there he once again opened his eyes. Jarem opened his eyes, and just turned his head to one side. What in the hell had been going on here? Several men laid knocked out. Others were helping them, he squinted his eyes. He looked to the door, where he saw an elf
trying to keep two people form leaving. Looking down his body he saw that his shirt was off. His crimson, and gold tattoo laid upon his chest. He shook his head just slightly, as he tried to figure things out.
"Alex, you okay?.." The man looked at him almost hoping it would seem, as there were others to help with.
Jarem just sat there, staring at him, not saying a word. He never did, his life lived in mostly silence. His dark brown eyes looked out, trying to read the mans intentions. The man stepped closer to put a wet rag on his forehead. As he did so, Jarem quickly jumped back off the couch. With fluid precision he moved behind to get something in between him and the man. Still to unsure of what was going on. Looking over he saw his Cloak upon the bar, and
in a deft movement slide over to it. It was the grace Alex never had. It was the smoothness that Avery never had. It was his inner peace and balance. It was all the years of tranquility at the monastery. He threw the cloak on and looked to the door. He never spoke the word, it was all thought, as he disappeared, and then stood right in-between the confrontation. The displacement spell taking him to the doors edge. He stared at the Elf who guarded it,
and regarded him with a thoughtful stare. His eyes took a sidelong glance over to Jaycy, and her slaver. He did nothing. In his soft whisper, that was all to audible, he spoke.
"Let me pass...." The elf slid to the side, and did. After all he had no reason to keep him here. He was just guarding the door form the Slaver. With that Jarem Ran out, and into the night. Looking for shelter, and to think over what had happened.
He arrived at the Inn, and went up to the keeper. His eyes staring at the pudgy man as he stood in front of him.
"Alex, how are you sir. Is something wrong? Have you lost your key? Now Alex, I told you to keep hold of it. Here, take this one." The man handed over the key, and Jarem just regarded him with a cold stare. He never said a word to the man, and just left to his room. Once inside he was all to happy to fall upon the bed and drift off into a sleep.
"Jarem......" the voice called him in his sleep... his voice. he never opened his eyes, but he saw the man clearly, he saw his own self standing in front of him. He saw the double.. he saw Avery.
"I was so close to getting my body back, and now you have come. You are my silence Jarem. My thoughts. Just as Alex was my fears. But I have taken back more of my body, and soon I will get out, soon I will control myself." All these words were from Avery as he spoke. Avery was inside. The conflict to gain control again, had happened. Something kept triggering these Mental changes. Something kept changing his persona. He couldn't figure it out
yet, as every time it happened he went blank, and found another part of his mind taking over. Alex was his fears. The klutz part of him. The stupid part of him. The innocent part of him. Jarem, he was the calculating part. The one who waits in silence. The one who controls the skill.
"Jarem.. tomorrow is the Overlord challenge and you will go... and when it is done, you will go to the standings board and wait. You will wait for new Overlord to be declared, and you will challenge. I have waited long for this. I have wanted this for the last 9 months. I have made the promise, and every time I go to challenge something gets in the way. But now.. now I will challenge. Just moments after, the new Overlord is declared, I will
challenge. You will challenge. We will challenge. And the power will be ours. No longer will, we be controlled the years of slavery will be gone. We control the fire now, the Opal will bring us victory. Times have changed and the new wind blows. It is ours to have." With that Avery disappeared, and Jarem continued his sleep.
