ARGHhhh.... ::thump::

Luthien, walking down the corridor through the bunkhouse, tilted her head toward Helix's office door. She stepped closer, pushing her long dark braid back over her shoulder and stuck her head in. Helix sat there, face down, with her forehead resting against a stack of reports.

She chuckled. "Mmm lass? Are ye ill?"

"Huh??" Helix snapped her head up and smiled faintly. "Luthie."

"I thought I heard a thump."

Helix grinned. "Twas my head."

"Is there naught I can do?"

Helix stood and shook what appeared to be a schedule, covered in red marker. "Aye... ye feel like working a bit extra?"

"Well.... How much extra?"

She squinted at the schedule. "Hm. I dunno, 'bout six hours worth? Ye'd be alone but..."

"SIX HOURS? ALONE?"

Helix couldn't help but chuckle at Luthien's wide elven eyes. "That too much?"

"Well I should say *so*."

She dropped the schedule on her desk. "There's naught else to be done. *All* of the callers are out on Saturday with the exception of Scad. The poor, poor lass can't be made to the face the evenin' alone and Rogue, Mathia, Daemon, Knight and the others that normally fill in in a pinch are tryin' to cover their own shifts and the rest of the openin's this weekend. I'll reassign Scad to cover a hole on Sunday."

Luth blinked slowly. "DoS will be closed? I'm not sure, what with being away for a short while as you know, but I don't think it has ever been closed."

"Aye well... there is, unfortunately, a first time for everythin'. Aye?"

Luthien shook her head slowly as Helix penned a note for the board...

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Arena and Annex will be closed this Saturday, the 30th day of the month to regular duelin'. We deeply regret that this step had to be taken and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

Weekend after weekend after more weekends, hours upon countless hours of kind people volunteering their time to call duels. ...and then finally one single, solitary night off. I can't believe this is the first it has ever happened. I hope they enjoy it, because they deserve much more than one.

Seriously,
I don't mind losing the day of dueling. It's a nessacery thing to do considering the circumstances and I will always support the RDI's and staff. Now, perhaps with the staff availiable, it may be time to consider dropping a day of dueling to make things run a bit smoother for the overall of DoS. Thats just a small opinion from one who's thought about it a bit

Dueling? We don' need no stinkin dueling!!! Like Skyler said....you've all been nice enough to lend us your time and sanity to call for us...I feel that you all should get a *whole* weekend off, instead of just one day. But, if that happened, Gnort would most likely wet his pants. :Þ
