A copy of her missive went out to each Baron, and to other interested parties. She'd automatically made an extra copy to place upon the corkboard, but when she approached it, she was unable to find any posts from the other Barons stating their alignments.

"Hmmm." She knew that she was nearly the last to declare her position - were none of the other declarations made publicly? Odd. Mayhaps they'd been misplaced. Still, it made her a bit uneasy. Ah, well... she believed such things should be made public, and she would do so.

With a shrug, she posted her parchment alone.

When it was securely attached to the corkboard post, there was a moment of hesitation before she turned aside and walked away.

My friends,

I know Zen casually, and have never witnessed his speech or his behavior to be anything unworthy of an Overlord. I am confident that he will fulfill his new role to high expectations. However, I am once again declaring my position as Renegade.

As I have stated before, my loyalty requires - and begets - much personal commitment. An acquaintance, even an admiring one, does not yet reach that level of covenant.

Why, then, do I not declare myself Neutral? The reasons are many, and admittedly a bit difficult to explain. Firstly, I do not consider the definition of "Renegade" as necessarily in opposition to the Overlord. Sometimes, "Renegade" is simply an expression of self-reliance. Secondly, I find the status of Neutral to be a bit too easy to fall into. I prefer to stand alone as Renegade than take comfort in the simplicity of Neutrality.

I have not spoken with Zen upon this topic, and sincerely hope he understands my personal views. Should he take issue with them, I should be happy to discuss them with him privately.
