:: it had been a long day. After spending most of the time in his office, Rask wondered out into the street heading for the outback. It wasn't his night to work, but he figured he would take a look and see how things were going after the recent battle that had destroyed so many of the chairs and tables. He read over some diamond quest entries, not really paying attention to where he was going. He opened the door and
looked around to see... the Annex? ::

where am I?::Rask asked ::

in the right place! :: came the response from Avery ::

:: it seemed that there was an Overlord match with no one to do the officiating. It had been a long time since Rask called a match in the swords, and his first one in nearly three years couldn't get any bigger. He knew Avery's name, but the Challenger was someone named Leo. Someone he had never met before. Regardless, Avery chose the best of three style and the challenge preceded.

The first match went by quickly, Avery easily disposing of his opponent 5-1 after eight rounds.

The second match started out good for the Challenger Leo, quickly jumping out to a fast 2-0 lead. But, as the match wore on, Avery started the comeback and completed it in the 10th round, defending his title 5-3.5.

His duty done, Rask started to head out. But wait, there was another challenge. Lupton, another name he knew, was challenging someone named Gunthar who was apparently a Baron. Why not, Rask thought.

Over the course of the challenge, Lupton was only able to get a half point lead at the very beginning. After that, Gunthar took and kept the lead until finally defending the ring 5-3.5 after eight rounds.

Having finally finished his unexpected night of work, Rask went to the message boards and posted the results for everyone to see ::

Avery,

T'was a fione defense, well an' 'onorably defended.

Leonardo Tassadar de Lorenzo,

I wast honored to stand ast thine Lady 'o Honor. Know thee well that ast thou didst strive, thee didst 'onor ta these ancient rings, to thine 'omeland an' to thineself.
