The Challenge for Overlord results

~*~ As Lady Silverhand pens the announcement the lad awaits, anxious to spread the news and post the announcement. As she finishes, handing him the official results, the young crier runs through the streets of Rhydin crying out the news of the Challenge for the title of Overlord. His young voice catching the attention of all who are
in hearing ~*~

Hear Ye All Who Have Ears! The Challenge for Overlord results!
~*~ A large crowd quickly gathers around the boy, eager for news, badgering him with a barrage of questions until one kind soul lifts the lad onto a nearby barrel, hushing the crowd so that the breathless boy can speak ~*~

The Arena was packed with more spectators than one would imagine given the hour.
The Renegade Baron, Damien Mortis publically stated twas still his intent to seek the the title of Overlord. The Overlord announced his intention to defend his title.

~*~ catching his breath, the boy continues ~*~

Lord Damien Mortis dueled under no banner or
colors. At his side as Second was Bode BoJangles.
His Drink of Honor was Jack Daniels. This night he
weilded the broadsword "Plague".

Overlord Avery ShivBlade dueled beneath the colors of
the House Oakenshield, that of crimson and gold.
No Second stood at his side. His Lady of Honor ,
his wife, Lady Casey ShivBlade.This night he
weilded his staff.

The Overlord choose to impose the Test of Worthiness upon the Renegade Baron. Named as his champion was Loyal Baron Gunthar O'Dwyer. The Renegade Baron named as his Defender of Right, Warlord Bode BoJangles.
In a hard fought and tense battle, the two waged combat to ten rounds of sheer skill and determination to a final outcome of five to three in favor of the Champion.

The Overlord's Champion then asked a short moment's respite before turning to face the Renegade Baron in attempt to halt his seek of the coveted title of Overlord.

::some kindly soul handing the boy a mug of water, he drinks thirstily, gulping air into his lungs to relate the match, gathering himself, though still trembling with excitement, he gives a final blow by blow of the match::

Ring of Worthiness, Round One
Gunthar tries that timely Step again, this time
finding himself stumbling as Damien reaches in
Low!

Ring of Worthiness, Round Two
Damien brings Plague in hard for the
midsection, only to find Gunthar Stopping it cold!

Ring of Worthiness, Round Three
Damien changes tack, reaches in Low, only to
find the movement brings him up against the
Thrust of Gunther's longsword!

Ring of Worthiness, Round Four
Damien brings Plague up diaginally (Slash), only
to find his intended target has Stepped aside neatly
( fancy)!

Ring of Worthiness, Round Five
Gunthar Ducks with a twist (fancy) that brings
him right into the Thrusting tip of Damien's
Plague!

Ring of Worthiness, Round Six
Damien looks to capitalize on that last round,
bringing Plague in High, this bringing him right
in as Gunthar's longsword streches out in seek of
midsection (Thrust)!

Ring of Worthiness, Round Seven
Damien Ducks away (fancy) only to be faced by
Gunthar's longsword sweeping in Low to bring
this battle to a close!

Thus nullifying the Renegade Baron's right to challenge for the title of Overlord of the Duel of Swords, that honor retained by Overlord Avery ShivBlade!

~*~ The lad posts the announcement he had read from,making careful note of her name before scurrying off to enjoy the handsome tip the Lady gave for his time. The crowd wanders away to talk excitedly of the results~*~

I kinda think the rings name should have been "Ring of Unworthiness" personally. But as long as he doesn't get the Overlord position I'm happy.
